  1. I'm saying 1 year PSN Plus subscription. The way I see it, Sony wouldn't be losing a lot of money, and users would be receiving content. Everyone who registers afterward would be stuck on the free service until they pay for the subscription. I mean, anyone new wouldn't have gone through the outage.
  2. Pfft, the Nintendo 64 wasn't a gamers console? Who had GoldenEye 007? Anyway, it's all about the games. The company has a say in their image, but games speak louder to consumers about a console and those who offer the titles. Think back to Microsoft and their entry into the gaming industry, the Xbox. Before launch, and perhaps was just my experience, but people were very skeptical of Microsoft coming in and facing off against Nintendo and Sony. "Haha... Microsoft, what do you think you're doing?" What no one expected was Halo, or really, the insanity it would spawn. In that instant, all the "bros" and jocks got into gaming because, "Dude, this Halo game kicks ass!" I feel like there have been some really good games on the Wii that have been overshadow because of the blockbuster hits on the 360 and PS3 front. I dunno, but does anyone realize Conduit 2 came out alongside Mortal Kombat and Portal 2? Yeah, not the best decision. Anyway, to [mis]quote Steve Ballmer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8To-6VIJZRE
  3. The only concern there should be is credit card info, and even then, who's aware of how widespread that is. I check my bank account online daily, and nothing out of the ordinary has occurred. If it does, I'll go down to the bank, report fraud and receive a new card within a week. I use a separate password for PSN, so it's not possible for anyone to access my email through this intrusion. Everything else, it doesn't really matter. Oh shi- there's a PSN user located in City, State, United States! I'm giving Sony until Thursday morning. That will have been a full week of this outage, and to me, I only have the patience for a week of no online anything. I sorta agree with the Tycho comment, but at the same time, I'm not losing out on that much. If this were Xbox Live (Gold), I would be losing time for a service I did pay for. Of course, all the PSN Plus and DC Universe Online users are losing money, so they should have been pissed days ago. EDIT: At this point, I'm thinking the only thing Sony could do to satisfy PSN users is offer a free (extended) year of PSN Plus service.
  4. This is purely an assumption, but I imagine King Jimmeh is/was in Australia. Down under, Thor premiered April 21.
  5. It's the starter pack. I figure I'm probably never going to get it for cheaper. Basically, I received an email saying I have a $25 off coupon from being a PowerUp Rewards member, and I still have the $10 gift card which I received for all the trouble experienced at the Portal 2 + Mortal Kombat midnight launch.
  6. "Sports Champion" Move Bundle for $65; yay or nay? For reference, the bundle is usually $100, so I would be saving $35.
  7. Given the rumoured specs put it slightly above par on a console from 2005 I'd struggle to call it a "beast". Recent articles have said it is "significantly more powerful" though. Previously, yeah, you're right. Now we have reason to estimate more.
  8. I think I'm going to wait on a 3DS until after what's said at E3. It's confirmed that we'll have a good look at the thing, but I need more details. I'm beginning to think that Nintendo may not be that hesitant to have a high price. The Wii gave them a huge financial boost, and they do have an expanded audience now. Heck, if this beast comes out in 2012, I wonder how people will view the NGP.
  9. Due Date I really like Robert Downey Jr., and Zach Galifianakis has his moments. This movie was a mixed bag of drama and comedy. It's not a dramedy, but the emotional back and forth of "I can tolerate this guy" to "I'm going to murder this guy" becomes old hat. Overall, you're on a roller coaster of comedic quality. You'll laugh at something, but sit through a moment of strife, but again will be faced with something funny, but yet again there's a dry spot of dialogue. I will say this, and I don't know how accurate this is, but this film has demonstrated how dogs can masturbate. I knew cats could, so I guess I should have figured. If you haven't seen the film, this might seem like a very awkward/disturbing comment.
  10. I've told myself countless times I'm not very good at fighting games, and I doubt I would take advantage of all the features in the new Mortal Kombat, but it's very tempting to contemplate purchasing the game. My neighbors have the game, so I'm thinking I could leech off their copy to satisfy this urge. It's really a monetary issue since I want to be able to get Infamous 2 and Alice Madness Returns in June. I do have some crap I could sell, but there might be some good Blu-rays and stuff! EDIT: Oh, not to mention my plans to get a 3DS for Ocarina of Time.
  11. I was going to say Killzone 2 because of its online multiplayer, but then I thought of all the times I've played Ocarina of Time.
  12. Had to order a book online, but amazingly a seller on Amazon is located two blocks away. :D

      Wut. That is lucky.

Yeah, saves on shipping. Now, what to do with that extra $2.99?

    3. Mr. GOH!
  13. In case no one has seen it yet, a nice secret in Chamber 16. Looking back, I can't believe I didn't think of taking out that turret with the laser.
  14. Got all the single player trophies. If anyone is interested in gaining a few, ask away. I still need to work on the co-op trophies, but those really aren't so bad. I will say, Chamber 6 gives you a lot of trophies, and Overclocker (Chamber 10 in under 70 seconds) is not that hard at all.
  15. I hate having hiccups. I don't have regular ones either; they're SUPER hiccups!

    1. Johnny

      Johnny

I could wake up everyone in this house with my hiccups. Awful.

  16. From my experience, that would be Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Yeah, I've picked this game again, but the multiplayer was such a joke. Tried it once with a friend, and we were both very bored with it.
  17. I'm beating myself over the head for not making a Steam account before Portal 2. Basically, there's a PSN outage. Beforehand the "First Time Login" for PS3-Steam account configuration was out, so I haven't received my Portal 2 PC-platform. Otherwise, I would be finishing Portal 2 co-op with my friend tonight. So, only SP campaign has been completed.
  18. About plans for Portal 3... I would really love another Portal game. This was such an "enriching" experience. You know what, I would buy a GLaDOS EDIT: I think this is more of a confirmation of...
  19. Watched Scott Pilgrim vs The World with friends and ate pizza. I still find it hard how you can NOT like this movie.

      Faiblesse Des Sens

lololol. but yeah, i'm against its usage as a blanket term. hipster used to mean something as an insult!

    3. HotChops

      HotChops

I'm not trying to insult Pilgrim and his friends. It's just that a lot of people act like that film/comic represents gamers as a whole, but the discrepancy between them and my gaming crew is huge. It just goes to show that all gamers ultimately share is one thing. The rest is up for grabs. I didn't love or hate the film. It was original, but too fast, and not very funny to me.

      Faiblesse Des Sens

Agreed. We can't all fit into the same bubble when the industry is so large.

  20. DVD? Those behemoths were, like, Laserdisc!
  21. I learned this last night, though it's (highly) likely that it is... EDIT: Also, I very much like Portal 2's end credits song more than Still Alive. While Still Alive is catchy, and even iconic, the new one (whatever the title) feels like an actual song.
  22. I can tell you what they're not doing: Thinking with portals. Also, I agree with you Dean, on the whole... Also, Duke, I had the same problem today. Except I...
  23. It's much longer, if you count the single player and co-op as the entire story. I mean, if you've seen the ending of the single player, co-op feels like it picks up. Still haven't seen the end to co-op, as I couldn't sign-in to PSN. Figures, the one time PSN is down is when me and a friend are going to beat co-op. I imagine with the final fifth course, the total amount of playing in co-op is around 4 hours. Yet, this is a puzzle game, so it'll depend on the two brains functioning in co-op.
  24. I actually didn't see that twist there, Portal 2. It makes perfect sense too...
