  1. Saw three films while family was in town; all good films. Quick summaries: Sing Much better than you might expect. It never lost my interest and there were legitimately good songs throughout the film. It's a good film for the whole family as it doesn't talk down to you and brings in some heavy issues that will speak to youth and adults. Moana Late to this one, but it's another high quality CG animated Disney film. I had a few nitpicks with it, but if you enjoy films like the Renaissance Disney films (specifically Mulan and Pocahontas), this one will be familiar and excellent. Like, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson does an excellent job and I found his song to be my favorite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79DijItQXMM Rogue One I will go into much more detail in the Star Wars thread. Really enjoyed it, but it was rough in the beginning. K2SO was the best, hands down. How a droid has the best character is both amazing but kinda sad. Like, I didn't start caring about Jyn until she actually shows she's human from seeing her father's message. Cassian also didn't have a great first impression, but Chirrut and Baze were pretty cool throughout the whole movie. Felt Bodhi (the pilot) was underappreciated and it probably didn't help that he was basically a plot asset in the beginning of the film. Also the CGI faces were rather jarring.
  2. Thanks for the offer Ethan, but I ended up going with a PS4 copy. I price-matched GameStop at Best Buy as GameStop was still matching Amazon's offer (even after it was gone). To get the free Dishonored Definitive Edition, you've got to have a Limited Edition. Best Buy had two copies of the game left, one was a Limited Edition and the other was the now regular edition of the game. That's what I was worried about with getting the game online as the cheaper PC option was for a physical copy and sometimes you don't always get the Limited Edition.
  3. Right now I can get it cheaper on PC, but I too worry about it's performance. My GPU is what's outdated (gtx 760) and right now I'm really only looking at older or indie games on my PC. If we purchase 2, can we still get the Definitive Edition of the first game, or was that a "limited time" near launch? I had the first game on PS3 and had one of the DLC which I never finished. I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to stealth and I ended up distracted with another game. I believe it was that witches one with the antagonist assassin. EDIT: To clarify I did finish the main game, just none of the DLC. Aren't the witches a part of the sequel? Would I be lost story wise?
  4. Seems 2016 is trying to get one more celebrity death in before it's over. Hang in there Carrie Fisher.

  5. Let's just say all future Jojo become a little more creative than what we've seen so far.
  6. I would say that if you use the Pokemon Pelago, you can get multiple stones of the ones you get once in-game. I got two Ice Stones before I even made it to Po Town. Honestly, I ended at 37%, but I did spend some extra time trying out different Pokemon, so maybe naturally if you're interested in only catching, you'll even up a little over 30%.
  7. Well, until then, we can always listen to the ultra awesome fantastic Great Days "Every JoJo OP Singer" variant that played in the episode! https://soundcloud.com/mihail-busteaga/great-days-units-ver IT'S A BREAKDOWN!
  8. Anyone have a Raspberry Pi? I know sometime ago I saw a discussion about it. I'm getting my brother-in-law a power adapter, but also I figured I might look into Retropie. At this point the NES Classic pisses me off given that it might as well be a cryptic creature. Not to mention it could be a neat project.
  9. Pokemon Moon There's still post-game stuff that I can do, but the end beating Elite Four and Champion is what I did the other night. I made it more challenging for myself because I decided to change up my team comp near the end. So while I had Pokemon between Lv. 58-61, I had two Pokemon that were Lv. 49. I definitely made use of the Max Revives and Max Potions that were handed to me in the game. I also swear there must be some modifier that makes 70% accuracy moves even less accurate. I missed Blizzard three times in a row. After that battle I replaced it with Ice Beam on my Ninetales. Anywho, I finished with my starter, Decidueye, though I really contemplated using other Ghost-type Pokemon. What ultimately made me keep him was that he does learn one more Flying-type move, Brave Bird. I did train up an Alolan Raichu, but I already had so many glass cannons on my team, and Vikavolt is such a great Electric-type, I swapped him out. I had Salazzle, and since I caught another female Salandit, I was able to trade for an Alolan Vulpix (from France)! Once it leveled up enough, I gave it an Ice Stone for Alolan Ninetales. I had Midnight Form Lycanroc for a long time and was tempted to swap it out for for the Midday Form I had caught. It even had a Nature that was negatively affecting it's Attack stat, but it still pulled through and I was already two Pokemon short of a full Lv. 60 team anyway. The last member of my team was Vaporeon. Brought it old school and it felt odd not to have a strong Water-type on my team. Granted, I had a killer Araquanid, but my team was already weak to Rock-types that I didn't need another one. It's a shame because it single-handily helped me bring down Po Town.
  10. Even though Y1 Icebreaker was attached to my hip back in the day... I'm not sure I'm going to be playing Destiny. Like, cool armor and... I'm more inclined to play my other games. Not sure what else to say because I think I've put in a megaton of hours, but at this point I am just playing the same game over going into a third year.
  11. Sometimes I forget I have a Vita and that it's most always 10 feet away from me.
  12. I noticed a lower amount of Minions, which is most definitely intentional given that I believe Illumination realizes Minions have lost most of their appeal. I never hated them, but much like zombies, I don't want to see an overabundance. Gru and Lucy were great in 2, so I would expect them to be alright in this film.
  13. The argument could be made that there are no external political statements. That said, the obvious political statements in the entirety of Star Wars can be applied to sociopolitical events of any generations, much like what is being done by those screenwriters of Rogue One. In fact, you could take any Good vs. Evil story of the last 70 years, twist it around your political leaning, and there you have a political analogy! I mean, that's essentially what people do when they compare anyone to Hitler.
  14. And you call yourself a Pokemon Master! Story is alright, but haven't finished it yet (though I know the spoiler because reasons, and it was obvious). It's just so damn wordy compared to all the previous games. I'm not entirely impressed with all the new Pokemon. I'm a little miffed that I can't get Vikavolt until near end of the game. I love me Bug/Electric (Galvantula FTW), but I don't want to lug around Charjabug for 90% of the game. Also the hell is with so many of these new Pokemon having such low Speed stat?
  15. I can't get Fox on the Run out of my head. Thanks Guardians of the Galaxy.

  16. The Hateful Eight You're probably reading this wanting to know why I didn't put this in the Good thread like many others did. Oddly, I found the movie to be predictable. Once you realize who the characters are, it mostly comes down to seeing how they'll interact with each other. Warren is a clever liar which he had to become to survive as a black man post-Civil War. It's his form of interrogation as the other character he begins questioning don't know how to out lie him because he has the upper hand. Now that was something that bugged me later on. Warren was almost always in an advantageous spot, never doubting or making a mistake. The one time he is weak is... I found John Ruth to be a good character because he was cautious, but at the same time gullible. He didn't want to trust anyone, but he still ended up getting fooled. Chris Mannix was alright too in that we're not sure if he's really the sheriff of Red Rock because he's overall a dick, but he does have his moments where he makes the movie entertaining. The rest of the cast I feel I would need to put all in spoilers as their character is all central to the overall plot. The problem I have with them is that they felt more like set pieces than actual characters. Truth be told, I feel that some of the things the movie gets praised for actually end up hurting it just a bit. Like when we learn the truth of events halfway through the movie. Great stuff, if not for some editing mistakes. You have to go back and realize, "Oh wait, that stuff from 10 minutes ago is actually like this now!" Normally I love plot progression like that, but it didn't always fit the character. That's the problem when you've got liars in the mix; they tend to get screwy with your plot. One last spoiler and that's about it. Really I just felt the movie should have taken a bit of a different direction halfway through the film.
  17. Joel dies, Ellie learns the truth, and Bill is still looking for his missing porn.
  18. Since everyone else is doing it, might as well too! https://goo.gl/4pSo0c There's a high Social score, but really I'll probably never talk to the people I'm playing with. It's just great to random help out people and have those little moments.
  19. Because FLCL is something like 46.7% of my soul, if I understand correctly I need to make a separate Amazon Japan account as my account in the US won't work. It's soooooo tempting.....
  20. When you're taking a IT Skills Assessment Exam (Practice) and forgetting to do the MOTD banner loses you 10 points...

  21. The power of JoJo: To leave you in shock and awe, all the while wanting more.
  22. I'd watch a feature length film of this in a heartbeat!
  23. I got Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 because it's 50% off on Amazon now. The only one that could beat that price is Wal-mart with their $25 deal, but I don't want to run off on Thanksgiving and fight the Wal-Mart horde for a single video game. As much as I'm not digging Dragon Ball Super, I've always liked the... components I guess you could say of Dragon Ball. The moves, some cool characters, and part of it is the nostalgic desire to relive the excitement of big fights. Also I can make a female Super Saiyan character and you don't get that very often.
  24. But that would be asinine then if you always had to use an individual move on each Pokemon to know the "Effective" status. The experimentation as you call it comes from the actual moveset you have for that Pokemon. It's one thing to know "Water > Fire", but it's another to know the damage type, the range, status effects, and other slight attributes that contribute to the battle. Hell, even the Pokemon's ability affects the moves. Take the Yungoos I caught. It learns Bite, a Dark-type move. I think to myself, "I already have Dark-type moves on my other Pokemon, so why keep Bite?" I removed it, but later I discovered that Yungoos had Strong Jaw, an ability that increases the damage of all biting attacks. I was concerned about elemental typing I completely forgot to take into consideration the Pokemon's other attributes. Of course I can always go back to the Move Reminder, but my Yungoos served his purpose and is chilling in the PC.
  25. The beginning did bother me. At first I was impressed with how cinematic these Pokemon games are, but then you realize it has been about two hours and you're still being told the basics of Pokemon. Granted, I think the game did a solid job of being far more transparent with moves, stats, and abilities. There isn't much need to have to jump online to look up these things now.
