  1. I'm going to stop playing either until things get fixed or for good. I'm running out of Pokeballs more often as Pokemon become harder to catch. I wasted my last five on a single Eevee that kept breaking out or batting away the Pokeballs. Unless I pay real money, Pokeballs of any type are hard to come by when Pokestops want to give you a load of Revives and Potions. I've also mentioned that unless I go to the college campus, Pokestops are very far from each other where I live.
  2. Watch the entire 90s Animated series over again. That's what I did a few years ago and even a thick layer of nostalgia can not cover up the terrible recycled animation. Sure, I owe it for introducing me to Spider-Man, but there have since been better animated Spider-Man series.
  3. Fantastic Four are classic, but even before the movies, they weren't as big a name as they once were. It was mainly Spider-Man, X-Men, and to a degree Hulk before the MCU. However, Iron Man, Captain America, and to a lesser extent Thor, had a presence in pop culture. It's just Spider-Man and X-Men were eventually gigantic icons, much like Batman and Superman were for DC. Of course what helped DC in the past were the old Justice League cartoon series. It was the only way I knew who Aquaman, Green Lantern, and the Flash were as a kid. The Spider-Man Animated Series is garbage, but back in the day it was radical and thanks to that you might know who the other Marvel heroes were. Iron Man had his own TAS, but who remembers like the one season it got...
  4. I was never anticipating it and in some ways I just never wanted to admit it was going to be a thing. Hard to do when there has been massive amounts of marketing the likes of BvS. And I wouldn't dare say Fantastic Four or Daredevil are bigger names than Cap, Thor, and Iron Man. The reason a MCU could exist is that the first movies considered as part of the MCU, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, were self contained and didn't seek to incorporate every single thing that's Marvel into themselves. Dawn of Justice is quite figuratively the "catch up" film for DC so it can be said they've got a Cinematic Universe too. The problem is that we have no individual films, aside from Man of Steel, that focused on these versions of the DC Heroes. It was thrown into a blender on high and it's hoped that the viewer can swallow their dinner and think it was still the same experience as having smaller and well defined bites. Suicide Squad is a in-depth DC Universe concept, basically the anti-hero/villain version of Avengers. Do you think Avengers would have been the same if all we had were Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk before it?
  5. I'm really hurting without Pokevision as I go on a 2 mile walk and only find a Paras and a Pidgey. Well, actually there was a Growlithe, but it broke out of my first Pokeball and ran away. Somewhere out there, right now, is a Hitmonlee. However, I can't afford wandering for 20 minutes to find it.
  6. Well two things: 1. I don't have any Great or Ultra Balls. It's actually a little hard when I practically have to go to a college campus to find Pokestops. 2. Wild Pokémon would not run away outside of the Safari Zone (or the Beast Trio in Gen 2). You as the trainer could attempt to run away. If you didn't want to battle or you knew your Pokémon would faint, it was an option. EDIT: Actually, you might consider Abra and its Teleport as a "running away" Pokemon. If I thought about this a little more, there are exceptions, but it's not the rule.
  7. I finally caught a Pikachu around town. Then a Kabuto pops up next to a Jack in the Box. Kabuto/Kabutops were one of my favorite Pokemon in Red/Blue. I landed two Pokeballs dead on, but it broke out each time. After the second Pokeball, it ran away. Like, if we're going to be walking around and a rare Pokemon shows up, why include running away? It is a real game mechanic by the way, not technical. You can determine the ease of catching said Pokemon by the color of the ring that appears when throwing a Pokeball.
  8. Yes, that would be Heart of Ice. Also, BTAS is how we got Harley Quinn. BTAS is what molded my young mind into Batman being the best, no questions asked. Mask of the Phantasm was good stuff too.
  9. If you want my serious answer, I don't particular like any of them. I wish Candela didn't have the giant collar thing going on. Blanche might be the best, but it's too anime for me. Spark seems cool, but I don't know if hoodie+jacket is actually a good fashion decision. Also his name is Spark.
  10. Finally found the article that mentioned the walking distance of the Reddit guy who has completed Pokemon Go. Obviously there are still missing Pokemon, but point being the game tracked his walking distance as 153km, but he had a health app open that tracked him at about 200km. On the technical side, the game will not count distance if you're going faster than normal walking speed. So when you're driving a car, that's no good. When it comes to biking, you'll have to take it easy as it has been reported 10 MPH (or 16 KPH) is the limit. Some have reported going a bit faster can make it count, but it seems flawed and would be a waste of time should it end up not working for you. Main reason I wanted to post was to display the image of the Team Leaders. Obviously Team Valor has the coolest Team Leader, Candela!
  11. If you happen to be in the US and you know what Hastings is, they filed for bankruptcy this past Thursday and should be having a GOOB sale now. Something like 30% off and they were one of those Games-Music-Books type of stores.

Huh, didn't know it was a primarily Northwest thing, I've been to a number of them around Kansas. Sold a bunch of my old 360 games there in college.

  12. I've done enough Rattata catching now since I evolved one into Raticate. I came across a Pikachu today... but I couldn't catch it. I was joining family today to run some errands. Figured I see what's around while going to some stores. Pikachu popped up at a restaurant across the street which also happened to be a Pokestop. However, it spawned right next to the Pokestop icon and each time I tried tap on it, I would get the Pokestop open instead. Eventually traffic continues and I wasn't about to yell out, "Hey fam, pull the hell over so I can catch a Pikachu!" Coincidentally, I have to imagine the car in front of us that pulled into the restaurant's parking lot was actually trying to catch it. I assume that because 1) It's not popular at lunch time, and 2) There was a damn Pikachu and everyone is playing this game. On my walk, I went down by the gun club which is the second closest Pokestop to me, and a dude jumped out of his truck, got out his phone, got back in his truck, and drove off. I also don't think the game properly measures walking distances. 0.3 km left my ass.
  13. Any of the popular Overwatch channels on YouTube would probably be more descriptive. The main changes to D.Va are that her Defense Matrix is now, by default, bound to Right Click and so long as you don't exhaust the ability, it doesn't necessarily have a cooldown. This is amazing because before D.Va would activate Defense Matrix, defend herself only a little bit, and then have to wait 10 seconds before being able to activate Defense Matrix once more. The new Defense Matrix is able to better counteract her giant critical hit box which makes her more durable. Also her Ult can kill people once more thanks to the explosion occurring 3 seconds and, oh yeah, you can't die from it anymore! What would limit D.Va's Ult use was before you'd have to think about your survival, and the prior 4 seconds was just enough time for enemies to find cover, thus it wasn't unheard of just simply killing yourself and the opposing team getting off free. Since you can survive your explosion now, you can also shoot at enemies in your pilot form. So that Reinhardt shielding himself, you can potential kill him now. I could have had a Quintuple Kill in the past, but because I had to hide from the explosion, the Rein survived. Think of D.Va as the Tracer of the Tank class. You'll want to get up close, but as soon as you're getting overwhelmed, use her Booster to get out. If a Offense character is confronting you, you can do some good damage, but also put up that Defense Matrix should you lose too much Armor. Her Ult is best on Capture Points, though you can easily use it to clear out opposition that's blocking the Payload. Most of all, do not underestimate her Pilot form. That pistol can dish it out. I've had players shocked they got outplayed by Pilot D.Va. Just as a general rule, don't forget your melee too. Too many players try to use their primary fire in close quarters when only a handful of characters are effective that close.
  14. Team Valor here and I'll mess up any Team Mystic dweebs with my squadron of Pidgey! Had Team Instinct take over a Gm today, which is a rare sight. Most of the time in my area it's a battle of Team Valor and Team Mystic using Vaporeon.
  15. I'll leave others to use Ana. She does have great potential in her Sleep Dart and Ult. My only beef is that unless your teammates are consciously aware you're there, she can have some trouble healing at point blank. What I mean is that if you have a teammate jumping around or just running off elsewhere, you're focusing on landing that healing dart. It's too close to use the scope and when you hip fire the dart is a projectile, so it must hit the target whether they're ally or foe. What's nice about the scope is that it's hit scan (for allies) so you don't have to aim too well to heal at longer distances. Back to the point, Ana is that odd sniper where you're going to be hip firing half the time simply because you're always going to have multiple targets and it's better for close range. Yeah you've got your grenade, but it's such a waste to use on a single ally when you can throw it at your front line where they get health boosted and the enemies caught in it can't heal. Anyway, love the improved D.Va and Zenyatta. They were always part of my main group of Heroes, but now D.Va is more durable and Zenyatta can wreck and defend. So good to get Gold in Healing, Objective Time, and Eliminations (and Obj. Elim) as Zenny.
  16. I guess the stuff is rare. Where'd you end up getting some?
  17. Like where the ball will just sit there? Yeah, it happens. So long as no one else is around to catch it, at least from my experience, you could start the game up again and find it. Maybe I've just been lucky.
  18. I'm thinking of getting it. It's the price of one current gen game and I stopped buying Virtual Console games years ago given that Nintendo didn't have a proper account system. So long as this thing gets power, it'll let you play the games. It's basically Nintendo's "Best of NES" tiny emulator box for sale. Maybe if this does well, there could be a SNES variant, but honestly if anyone wants access to any game of any given console's library, then emulator. If you love having hardware, you can get nice used consoles. Classic games will cost you a pretty penny, hence mainly collectors go for physical copies.
  19. Depending on the map, you can do decent as Symmetra on KotH game types. You'll definitely get people who will give you flak for it, but I think more people have realized how dangerous Symmetra can be when you're close quarters. I've received PotG with her for a triple kill on a Hanzo, Pharah, and Zenyatta. She can eat up tanks too, but Winston is her hard counter.
  20. So I'm not sure what to make of our long awaited support sniper, Ana. Her character reveal trailer smudge some of her character a bit, but overall she is all about the buffs and de-buffs like Zenyatta. I wish they would have headshots for her because it feels like you're only going to be able to contribute to eliminations and not necessarily have the ability to defend yourself aside from landing a Sleep Dart.
  21. Anyone think Amazon will actually have good deals for Prime Day? It was pretty much unanimous last year's blew.

I bought 12 months Xbox live gold with a free £10 gift card for £31 which was a good deal, but nothing else was any better than normal offers. Trouble is there's sales everywhere, all the time so it's hard to make them stand out.

  22. I had a match last night where I was doing excellent, gold medals in almost every category. We lost the match though, and some dickhead wanted to blame me for it. He might have saw me trapped twice by two Junkrat traps when spectating and thought I wasn't doing anything for the payload. Also the dumbass assumption that Soldier 76 players only care about K/D, which in Overwatch isn't even a thing really. I tell him I had 2:11 Objective Time, giving me the Gold Medal. Fellow teammate tells the guy to STFU because he wasn't anywhere near the payload. Instead, dude goes into Match chat and blames me to the other team. Gets called salty, and while I should have had a little chuckle, the whole thing left my sour because I was arguably playing the objective and taking out the opposing threats of turrets and snipers. I'm not saying I'm elite and "git gud" to others, but being called the worst when the game is awarding me for being the best on my team.
  23. If it wasn't for the Incense item, I'm not sure I would have caught a Pokemon normally. Out of curiosity I had my phone running Pokemon Go while I was driving. Drove about 4 miles and heard two Pokemon go off. Might have caught one when I was nearing a red light, but it turned green as I was slowing down and I'm not the type to even touch his phone when driving. I walked around my apartment complex, certainly looking like a goof to others, but I found a Gastly near a giant mound of dog poop. Then I found a Rattata near some more dog poop. A Pidgey was in the near empty parking lot, except for some random Honda Civic looking at me. Finally, before the Incense ended, I got a Meowth by being on a walking trail. I didn't want to go to the Pokeshop because it was a children's playground. It may be the only one within 2 miles, but I don't want to look weirder then I already do by walking up to piles of dog poop.
  24. The reason I held off was that from my understanding not only are there those RPG elements, but there is also RNG when it comes to items and abilities. If I'm going to be spending my summer with a game, I rather it not be doing the same fight multiple times in hopes of getting SSJ2 or whatever. Not to mention I've heard the online has always been a bit iffy. Also there's suppose to be a Xenoverse 2 coming out and I feel that it's going to retread most of the stories.
  25. I found some old WMA files on CD while clearing out a closet. Thing is, they're old DRM protected WMA files. Anyone know of a method of converting them to MP3?

I've used handbrake in the past, but the files I converted weren't DRM protected so I dunno.
