My favorite hobby the last few weeks has been sleeping. It's a shame because I don't get much time to dedicate to it with work getting in the way.
-
Yeah, the 4-5 match. Besides, not all of our matches were 0-5; we had some 1-5 matches.
-
Nah, you were doing fine. Most of those matches we had the meta going against us. I didn't make the best decisions, but at the same time having a mic might have helped out as I guarantee the dedicated Elimination players are talking back and forth. I mean, we almost got the Sunsinger Ram players. In the end, their shields saved them. Those Titans were a bit frustrating, running Last Word and Ice Breaker. I'm also very rusty with a sniper rifle. That match on Frontier, I shot at the Hunter twice and missed both times. But yeah, time to wait for the Ghost. At least I also got a nice shader!
-
I won't be available until 8PM GMT. Not sure how long this'll take given it is Elimination.
-
I have been tempted to jump back on for the guaranteed 320 Ghost. Just let me know what time in Mountain Standard and I could jump on. It only has to be 7 matches, win or lose.

This has been something on my mind lately, and truthfully I feel this is the only place I can post about it without it turning into a maelstrom of millennial bickering. The topic of privilege. Today I witnessed two white early 20-something individuals arguing about how bad black people have it. I'm not sure if they know anyone black, and if they do if they truly believe they've had a better life than them because of race. The conversation took this cringe-inducing turn when one of them began self-loathing herself simply because she is white. Maybe it's because of the generalities, i.e. white and black people, but I hate this kind of talk and train of thought. To me, it's thinly veiled racism and now we have a modern reboot of The White Man's Burden. It's good to understand the blessings and privileges one has been given; it's how we can come to a state of humility and understanding. But just assuming that one's classmate, who is black, is having a tougher time than you, who is white, is racist. Sure you're not looking at them through a lens of hatred, but having a sense of pity for them based only by the color of their skin? Not everyone who is black grew up on the street, just like not everyone who is white grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth. I don't particular like this analogy, but I'm reminded of that episode of American Dad where Stan assumes his half-brother, Rusty, who is Native American, will be impressed by all his upper-middle class luxuries. Later in the episode, turns out Rusty is a millionaire and Stan and his family were the "poor family" at Thanksgiving. I know this was a big rant. It just gets under my skin because I'm imagining people my age unintentionally teaching their kids racism. Don't bring your new toy to school, it'll make the underprivileged kids depressed! Don't be too proud of your grades, the races that are stereotyped to do poorly in school would be dissuaded to do better!

So I'm noticing a trend online where people are getting disillusioned by The Force Awakens Cause I guess nothing can ever compare to the originals? I still love it, but now I'm seeing all this moaning online and nitpicking whenever I find anything Star Wars. Damned if you do, damned if you don't?

My guess is it has to have something to do with the Cabal. We've focused on all the factions but them. All types of Exotics and armor based on Vex, Hive, and Fallen. Meanwhile the Cabal have been dickin' around on Mars. Given one of the Taken King missions, the Cabal did reach out to their empire.

No offense, but if there's a state in the US that can handle weirdness, California is right up there with New York.

Life is Strange Not sure it's truly important to go over all my choices, besides the very last major one: I don't know who said it here, but I do think Episode 2-4 were the great episodes, whereas 1 and 5 just did their job. Episode 5, while I get it was given the opportunity to really express the nature of Chaos Theory and screwing with time, it honestly felt like padding after all the times I kept going back, reverting this, so then I could alter that, and etc. Granted, I do think it was doing an excellent job near the very end of strengthening the relationship of Max and Chloe leading to your final decision. I say that because...

So I finished Ep 3 and this one was kinda odd on the choices you could make. Like, I would have taken David's gun back but I think the vent was closed off. Was that where the gun was hiding? I dunno, for something that appears that you can easily miss, I'm not sure why that would be a major choice at the stats page. I also see I'm in the minority on... I mean, it's hard for me to be comfortable with Chloe because she's "mad at the world." But nearing the end there was that perfect moment where you get to call her out on it. She then has the gall to blame her deceased father. But now I've played the beginning of Ep 4 and I think I'm going to be more sympathetic to her. Still, I'm not liking that you can rewind on these major moments. It dampens the seriousness of the moment and presentation when you can easily go back and second-guess. I ended up doing that and I'm not comfortable where I'm at necessarily. I'll keep it, path less traveled and etc. EDIT: I looked through this thread a bit more and I think I'll say my Ep 4 piece early as I'm halfway through it. On the decision of Chloe's condition... I'm not sure if that last bit will pop up in Max's mind, but to me I feel like I would then have a personal responsibility for what was originally just an accident. So Chaos Theory: Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I've seen a few concept videos and I have to say I approve. It would be like having Phil (from Hercules) as a detective companion!
-
So Episode 1 kinda worried me as it didn't truly catch my interest. Like, this game has some fantastic presentation, but I found myself hardly drawn to any of the characters. Likewise, I like that while you can rewind your choices, most of the time you can backpedal. Kinda makes your choices like a multiple-choice questionnaire rather than having significance like in The Walking Dead. Then Episode 2 steps in and this game got a whole lot more interesting and better. There isn't as much of a "teen drama" vibe as the first episode and this one establishes that Arcadia Bay itself is screwed. I mean, did you see those GAS PRICES?! Not to mention that helping out Kate seems like a losing battle. Granted, I was able to... Still, that's the nature of the beast. You're a 18 year-old girl who has been given a gift and burden who now must be involved with those around her. Speak of, I'm not a fan of Chloe. I know she's gone through stuff, but she's also put that upon herself too. I dunno, like how she can shoot herself wanting hella trick shots. Also, she's into guilting Max a bit too much.

If I could get this job promotion, that would be great. I just paid rent and some other bills and I'm looking at a penny-pinching next two weeks.
-
So tempted. This game, I've played it already, but it keeps coming back wanting me to relive the glorious wonder of it's being. I stare at my PS3 copy from across the room and contemplate....

Hey, not every Pikachu has the luxury of going on hundreds of adventures with an upbeat trainer and his pals. Sometimes you've got to be the Pikachu who finds the buried hooker that was a drug mule for the local colorful gang of criminals with odd fashion sense. EDIT: On the Superbowl commercial, it's for the 20th Anniversary. Pokemon has reached a point where it's such a common facet of your modern children's media, today and yesterday, that they can get away with a "Pokemon is still huge" commercial. Seriously, I'm surprised that kids today actually play the Pokemon TCG. I use to play that when I was a kid!

I'm back to giving Destiny a break while I play other games. This time it's because, well, everything tripleWRECK has to say in his most recent video. I'm not a follower of the streamer, but someone on the subreddit linked to it and I couldn't agree more. Now another YouTuber called "My name is Byf" (another respected commentator on Destiny) only had one disagreement on this video: DLC would be nice too. I agree with that because while half my time has been spent in PvP, that's partly because the PvE segment doesn't offer much else. PvP tends to be a more varied and exciting component to Destiny, hence why I'm found there more often. Also, I like to think I'm pretty good at it. https://www.bungie.net/en/Legend/Stats/2/4611686018434273433/2305843009217421987 Between my Hunter and Warlock, my K/D is 1.25 and you'll see I have over 12 days worth of time in that mode alone. On my Hunter, I have 1900 matches and there's probably around 200 on the Warlock. The Skill Based Match Making, it has ruined any kind of enjoyment I derived from any Crucible match type. The horrible lag and glitches. Literally landing a melee twice on someone with 5 HP left only for them to turn around, stare at you, then fire their shotgun. Oh, and the random deaths when you're just wanting to do some Heroic Strikes. This happened to me a few days ago. I'm not here to dissuade anyone currently playing to stop right now, just I've hit my limit. Granted, this is the longest I've ever played any one game. Heck, I may jump back on to see what they have in store for Valentine's Day, but for now I'll play something else like Life is Strange... when it arrives.

I attempted to be a part of Tumblr, and this was a few months ago. The thing that put me off was the hyper-sensitivity and the young teens who obviously know what's best for humanity, thus they must spam tags with utter nonsense "because I'm right."

It's so great to see someone enjoying Dragon's Dogma, then I get reminded of the MMO title only for Japan. Granted I'm not one for MMOs, but for Dragon's Dogma, I would have tried... I would've tried, dammit!

So I got this Life is Strange game for the PS4 through Amazon and the amazing Prime deal on new games. Don't know if ya'll have heard about it, but I guess it's a Top Ten game of 2015.

Word to the wise, don't get the Sriracha brand ketchup. Stick with the Heinz brand for spicy goodness. The other one will give you spicy b-hole business.

So while I was on the search for a new dry cleaners (last one sucked), I happened to notice there was a gaming shop not too far from the place. Board, card, and those collectible figure types of gaming. Seems like a pretty good place, but I'm not really one for board games because they tend to require a group and I don't typically have company over. But, say if I were to do so, what kind of board games would ya'll recommend? I only have one that I got a few years ago: King of Tokyo. Real fun game and can be played with 4-6 people. I don't imagine myself ever getting into the collectible and/or painted figure scene, but if it was part of a standalone game it might be interesting.

Speaking of Vita, quite a few of the better games are also getting PS4 ports, so you know...

So early in the day everything was fine on my PS4. I stepped away for 3 hours and decided to get back on for a little more fun in my day off. I received Error Code WS-37397-9. So it appears there are some login issues with PSN today. What is worrying me is that my ISP may have been blocked. I am given "Access Denied" when going to Sony Entertainment Network for account login.

So I haven't watched SNL in forever, but I saw this posted from some friends on Facebook a few times. It's actually a bit funny.
