  1. I highly recommend to everyone they find their Attack, Defense, Tank, and Support character. If you're playing with randoms, and half the team has decided on being Attack, you might have to take it upon yourself to be Support. As such, my characters are: Tracer (Attack), Bastion (Defense), D.Va (Tank), and Mercy (Support) Bastion was wrecking early in the Beta, but people have learned how to more effectively counter him. Still, I don't mind staying back and being a living turret. On PC, with mouse, you can be a deadly force to contend with because you can easily adjust your accuracy. I tried controller for the heck of it and it was awful. That holds true for Tracer too because she's such a twitch control character. I've been trying out other Defense characters, but I'm not quite as good with say Widowmaker or Junkrat. Mei on the other hand is somewhat OP still even after her nerf from the Closed Beta. Had a match where the other team had two of Mei and they were wrecking us with the Ice Wall and their freezing ability. It hard to pinpoint what her exact weakness is because she has great zone control, DPS, and self-healing with invulnerability. Her Ultimate, while it doesn't kill you, basically allows for the team to slaughter anyone frozen. To finish up, I can't believe how well I can play as Mercy. Yeah, you're not getting kills and what not, but Overwatch is primarily an Objective Team-based game, so as long as you're helping the Tanks and Defenses, you're getting those sweet assists. I tried Symmetra, but I can't get the hang of her because sentry placement is key when playing as her.
  2. I've got Early Access code to the Overwatch Beta if anyone is interested.

I guess, only saves like 24hrs though.

Heh, might as well wait now considering I just saw this 14 hours later.

  3. I personally love WarioWare Touched. It's very nostalgic and I played the game for a good while. Of course, it was the very first WarioWare I played, but the style and frantic nature of completing the "microgames" was very appealing to me. Can't believe the game is already a decade old.
  4. Looks like if you're on the western half of the world, the Overwatch Early Access Beta begins tomorrow. Eastern half gets it May 3 in the early AM. http://us.battle.net/overwatch/en/blog/20100169/#schedule

  5. I truly enjoy My Hero Academia. Even when Izuku (Deku) gets a Quirk, things don't get easier for him. He has probably the best Quirk, but it's so powerful that it will break his body. His homeroom teacher determines he has no potential, but then Izuku proves himself. Supposedly the teacher gets "cool," but I mean, screw him for underestimating Izuku! On a side note, I can't help but crack a smile when Izuku blushes from Ochako's (gravity girl) praise.
  6. Oh lordy, I'm getting back into the swing of things. However, I got up to the Crystal Sage and that was just pure frustration. Mechanically, it's not hard. However, two times the final clones would spawn right next to each other. Absolute cluster of spells heading my way. So after a few tries and always getting screwed over in my last few swings, I popped Ember. But guess what, there's a glitch with online help! Depending on the connection, if you attack a clone right when it's spawning, it can become invincible and prevent completion of the boss. That happened three times in a row. Eventually I got a guy who may have been aware of the issue as he would wait for the clones to fully emerge. For such a simple boss, I can't believe it took me something like 40 minutes.
  7. Forgot to mention, Super Mario 3D World is a damn fine Mario game. I have 11 games for my Wii U, so I definitely found a use for it. Just a shame that it wasn't as useful as my past Nintendo consoles. I know there are a few more titles I could try out on the Wii U, but I have other games calling my name.
  8. So anyone else point out this is deja vu from 2006 when Nintendo decided to port over Twilight Princess to the Wii, thus delaying it on GameCube. You know, the game that was the last leg for the abandoned GameCube. As per Nintendo tradition, the next big project receives priority while the current console is left to the will of any, and I mean any, third party throwing their game out. And no one better talk smack about N64.
  9. I haven't been keeping up with previews, but then I learned there was one with three more seconds of Spider-Man.
  10. Since I made a few improvements to my PC, I've been playing Dark Souls 3 again (and on High settings). Is it odd that I still enjoy my beginning weapon even after picking up a ton others up to Undead Settlement? I chose the Assassin class because Dex/Int strikes my fancy, but the Estoc is just speaks to me. I did defeat "The Master" outside to get the first possible katana, but I swear the katana swing speed was slowed down a little from Dark Souls 2. Probably for the best as katanas were a little too good in that game. That, or the arc of the swings just seem to miss some the small fry enemy types. Seriously I get through the boss from the High Wall with my Ember intact, but I die to the two dogs behind the tipped over carriage. They must have both had 3 HP each, but they stun-locked me while I'm try to swing once more!
  11. I've been watching My Hero Academia and I definitely enjoy it. Great that we have a protagonist that instills hard work and determination in the face of impossible odds. I was expecting at first that All Might would be a jerk who just happened to be the best superhero, but he actually is a great guy. I guess the one spoiler I would mention Also, he got to talk to a girl, so that's cool too
  12. Yeah, there are some impressive laptops out there, but all that performance usually means you're running on an average battery life of 4 hours. The default power manager, whether it's brand specific or Windows, is typically fair for average use. Granted, I have seen them be a bit excessive for the sake of drawing out as many hours out of a battery. Those are typically the Eco settings or what the program wants to call it.
  13. So I got myself 16GB of RAM to replace my 8GB of RAM. I consulted with some fellow PC friends and they thought spending the money to replace my heatsink and then RAM wasn't worth it because I already have one of the top-rated heatsinks. I got my RAM today and went to install it. Turns out the 8GB RAM sticks I had were just unnecessarily tall because my new RAM sticks actually have a low profile. Rather than just replacing the first two, I left them in and place the new sticks in the third and fourth slot. I now have 24GB of RAM. Seriously, if I knew these new sticks would have sat so low, I could have just got 8GB more. Well, doesn't hurt to have some extra RAM, right? EDIT: I'm now at 16GB of RAM. I noticed my frequency was lower than before, so I thought I would do a manual adjustment in the BIOS. I reboot and nothing on the screen. OH CRAP! I try a CMOS reset based on my situation, but that didn't work out either. I figured I'd chuck out the odd pair in the group, have the BIOS recognize the change and keep it at the new sticks. It worked and I think that's enough fiddling with my computer's inners for a while.
  14. So I guess my Dark Souls 3 adventure is postponed until Bandai Namco release a patch. Lowering Lighting, Shadow, and Shader resolved getting to the first bonfire. However I ended up dying in the first boss, getting the "You Died" message, and then the game crashed. Had to force a shut down as I couldn't even bring up Task Manager.
  15. Doctor Strange should just be magic and that would fit into the MCU. The first Thor film to me set up Asgard as "magic + science = gods" angle. Even Thor would probably be startled to see himself forcibly astral projected.
  16. Yeah, I was looking into (at the time) getting the same exact RAM, but at the time that's like denying an upgrade. Reason why I was looking into this at all in the first place is that Dark Souls 3 is crashing for me and the first time it crashed I received a message about system memory. Second time it just gave the standard crash message. I'll try turning down the lighting as I've seen that suggested online, but it would be nice to have some breathing room.
  17. So I'm thinking I'll be wanting to put more RAM into my computer. Anything I should be aware of? I've had the same 8GB in my computer since I built, so I don't know if I need to be concerned about compatibility. EDIT: Alright, I looked up a little more info and my only major concern now is: Can I use three of my four slots for RAM, or does it have to be in pairs? I ask because I took a gander back inside my tower and see that the fan on my heat sink overlaps the fourth slot. There's really no comfortable way of moving the fan and sticking RAM right below it. So I might be looking at pulling out my old 4GB sticks and putting 8GB sticks in. Actually, it's my third slot that's covered by the heatsink, so looks like I'd have to replace my two...
  18. Downloading Dark Souls 3 on Monday and not Tuesday? Getting it on PC was the smart decision!

Unless the performance issues I heard about are as bad as they sound. D:

  19. Kylo Ren is actually upset because ol' Uncle Luke gave him chronic back pain. He heard the Dark Side typically had prosthetic replacements for just about anything. One cyborg spine later and he's able to smash computers with ease once again.
  20. Makes me wonder how popular this will be in someone's work space. I mean, most work PC/terminals can't have anything installed externally, but for the few that have the authorization. I guess if you had a Surface it'd be a cool portable solution.
  21. So there is an advantage to being single?
  22. The new Powerpuff Girls series will be premiering soon. I haven't really kept up on it as I don't really have interest in it. In the last 24 hours, I've had fellow millennials "Powerpuff" themselves. What did I do? I jumped on the bandwagon, and if you want aboard, go here!
  23. I played the demo last night and it's alright. Took me a while to wrap my head around "Hold to Defend." Noct doesn't show signs he's defending, but when a enemy swings, he goes into defense. Then I was able to parry the boss of the dreamscape and do some crazy maneuvers. I didn't unlock Gold, mainly because you've got to dedicate yourself to "platforming" in the dining room. If you unlock Silver, you can access the Cross Shuriken in the final area, and I guess when you beat the boss, a Platinum plate unlocks so you can use the Hero's Shield.
  24. This FFXV demo is taking forever to download. I think it will take 9 hours total at this rate.

I couldn't get it to start downloading that first day. Then I got it going before work yesterday, so I don't know how long it took to finish for me.

I'm jealous, SomTervo. My network connection could have handled downloading it in about 10 minutes, but for some reason on PSN I can never get more than about 1/3-1/2 my max speed, even though XBL and Steam both routinely max it out.

It was just downloading at a snail's pace. However, it appears that it only took 4 hours total. I have Internet through my apartment, so while it can be fast, I think sometimes it can be bogged down. I also imagine quite a few people were downloading the demo.

  25. Anyone try PlayStation Vue? I swear, if I wasn't tied to my apartment's "TV+Internet" bundle, I'd give it a shot. I don't watch that much TV and the Access Slim plan has all the channels I ever watch.
