  1. Gravity Rush being free for PS+ is kinda a big positive for the Vita.
  2. Local store still has the old Assassin's Creed: Liberation bundle. Really tempted to use my belated "gift," a.k.a. cash, to get it. I mean, Instant Game Collection and some interesting games might make it worth it.
  3. All the Dragon's Dogma talk got me actually looking at Dark Arisen, and then I got upset again because I guess there have been some actual gameplay changes to the re-release. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure you could patch in a new in-game menu and vocation changes, right?

He's saying they think it's still acceptable to release an entirely new "game" with each tiny iteration, while Western companies know it's better to just add to the game people already bought with DLC.

      I stand by my generalization.

  4. Yes, for whatever reason soda is sold in 2-liter bottles in the US. Occasionally you'll see a 1-liter bottle too, but anything smaller than that tends to be measured in fluid ounces, and fountain drinks are always measured in ounces in my experience, it's just the larger bottles that use liters for some reason. Occasionally? I always get 1 liter bottles because it tends to be cheaper than getting two 20 fl oz bottles. 1 liter bottles will list both the liter and how many fluid ounces makes a liter. I can't remember off the top of my head if 2 liter bottles do it too, but I imagine we shift over to a "liters" measurement because then we don't have to list off 33.8 or 67.8 fl oz for a size. EDIT: Though gas station markets like to advertise the larger fluid ounce size cups for a sale price to draw in customers during the hotter weather. I use to get "Fountain 64 oz" drinks for 89 cents as a kid during the summer at the local family market.
  5. The Croods, though it leans very close to "OK." Don't quite feel up to explaining everything, but it has some weird character pacing and poorly placed transitions near the end. Otherwise, a pretty good DreamWorks family film.
  6. Those camera angles were there so we could know Miranda's assets as a team member. Of course Ashley said we only liked Miranda because of her outfit, but it's so obvious that with Miranda intel, we could be kept abreast of the current mission objectives.
  7. On the Shonen Jump side, bascially: Naruto: Madara has excitement in his pants. Bleach: Tite Kubo had Urahara give the most needless and convoluted diagnosis. One Piece: The best this week, though nothing amazing other than Luffy being Luffy.
  8. Anyone have experience with eBay selling? I think I'm going to try and sell what little of my expense trading card game childhood I can.

Yeah, I'm not going to be making a whole lot compared to if I sold these things 8 years ago. I swear, if I have a kid who gets into a trading card game, and he wants to one day sell them, I'll get him to do it within the same year.

You can go from $120 when you got it, to $12 years later.

Is it Pokemon? They tend to not be worth much, often not worth the hassle to sell online. MTG rares can go for a fair bit (buddy of mine picked up a box for $5 at thrift and sold them for $3K).

Nah, it's Yu-Gi-Oh. Pretty much the only ones you can sell are the holos. There are still some old cards with value, but others will go for 5 bucks.

  9. I'll be too busy listening to Random Access Memories all day to pay attention to whatever Microsoft has planned.
  10. I'll come off cliche, but a female character I've recently cared about is Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite. We saw a lot of guys go into a kind of obsession because she was presented like a real female human being. Sure, she had some attractive attributes to her character, but those changes were implemented further down the storyline as an expression of her rapid shift to maturity. I don't think you can avoid any female video game character to not gain some following based upon her character design. It's like that in life too: either you stay content with the outward appearance, or take the opportunity to know the character.
  11. Man, when they gonna make a Coo' Ranch one?
  12. I haven't had to pay sales tax on a digital good in a long while. I believe I use to back in Utah for PSN, but when services transferred over to SNEA, no one has had to pay a sales tax on PSN (that I'm aware of). As for "government," I'm sure Ethan will put this much better, but basically there's Federal government (country), state government, and then local government. For your reading pleasure (because I rather not write it all out). And Amazon should be just fine. If you consider how often you can get an item, or bulk of items, at a discounted price, all a sales tax would do is reduce the immense discounted price to a slightly less immense discounted price. So if I get something for 53% off of $19.99, making it $9.40, adding 6% (my current sales tax) of that price would then make it $10.18. Basically, the discount went from 53% to roughly a 51%.
  13. Metal Gear Legacy Collection CONFIRMED! I've been meaning to get the HD Collection, but now I can hold off until this one because, well, it's pretty much every Metal Gear game you would want to play. Portable Ops isn't on it, but trust me, you're not missing much by playing that one.
  14. I used the Sharpshooter layout for Infinite: L1 to Aim, R1 to Shoot, L2 to Use Vigor, and R2 to Cycle Vigors. Infinite has great options for consoles, because let me tell you, I had to adjust the default sensitivity when first playing. The only time I've ever felt a dead zone for the DualShock 3 is in Metal Gear Rising where it felt like breaking free of enemy attacks required me to break off the analog stick.
  15. I saw the PS Plus update for this week, and I thought I'd share the Resident Evil discounts for this week. I might actually get Resident Evil 6 for $14.69 Maybe... possibly no... I dunno...
  16. Well, I guess I could put the Jetstream Sam DLC here. As an immense fan of Rising, I could justify the $10 I spent (not to mention it was free credit). Thing is, it really should have stayed at $7 because, again, unless you're into collectibles, VR Missions, and difficulty, it's over pretty quickly. Sam is a cool character, and I mostly love the way he plays and can take on the more difficult enemies. There's really no stealth to the DLC, though at times you can sneak past a few enemies. Now I patiently await the LQ-84i, a.k.a. Blade Wolf, DLC because you know that stuff is going to be a definite game changer.
  17. Armor/clothing and weapons could be upgraded three times, though if you had enough material, you could skip to a higher upgrade. Materals for upgrades were either animal parts, metals, or fabrics. Now, certain other items could be upgraded, but for the best upgrade, it usually meant that you had to sacrifice another item.
  18. Elizabeth saved my life too many times to count. I swear, I think she'll give you money any time you go to purchase, but don't buy anything. At least it felt that way to me. Even so, there are far too many upgrades to ever get enough money to buy them all.
  19. Or, you know, it's a religious private school. Haven't bothered looking through the r/atheism thread, as I don't normally go to other subreddits outside my fandoms, but that's what I can gather from the title "Dinosaurs: Genesis and the Gospel." The teaching curriculum could be all kinds of nuts and bananas at that school. When I went to Catholic private schools, we never mixed science and religion. They had their own courses, their own books, and their own tests. Not even word problems mentioning some scriptural scenario. Who knows what the opinions each teacher held, but it wasn't apparent on any test I remember. Trust me, I think I would remember something like "Were you there?"
  20. After that GameTrailers "franchise fighter" video, I really would love a Avatar TLA/Korra fighter in the style of CyberConnect2's Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series.

Meh, all the characters seemed like they were basically the best in the world at their specific element, with the Avatar being able to do all of them but not the best at any one (except maybe their own native element) so I'm sure they could balance it fine.

Goddamn, I don't even like fighting games and I'm getting myself hyped up for this nonexistent thing.

    3. Waldorf and Statler

      Waldorf and Statler

now that you mention it, how convenient is it that outside of Zuko everybody in Aang's team was the best or one of the best at their element? Zuko was an effective fighter but Katara was one of the few who could blood bend, and well Toph is pretty much obvious

Avatar magic arranged it so that he would be with those people.

And even Zuko I think was supposed to be one of the best, just he was in a whole family of the best so he didn't stand out.

  21. Honestly, it's like you owe it to yourself to become a Hybrid class because Pawns can not; only you. I originally made my Pawn a Warrior (advanced Fighter), but part of the customization comes from mixing class attributes that can be carried over. I was working on her Ranger class when I last left, so I'm sure she has received some mixed ratings given that she's high level, but with mediocre gear. Any of the Hybrid classes are good, as I remember it. I stayed Assassin because while the Magick Archer is good, his equipment and weapons can be limited and seems to stem from a "Oh, you were probably a Mage first, so here's some nice Striker stuff."
  22. I can think of a certain area you'll probably stop at, if for a bit. One of the flaws to the game is some quests have poor direction on where to find an NPC. Everything else though is gravy if you're into a challenging adventure RPG.
  23. Like the legend of the Phoenix...

i've been listening to that for a whole week without pause.

  24. Strangelove, I hope you picked up the Dark Arisen version, because original copies aren't going to see that content, like, probably ever. It still has a New Game+ feature, but it's a poorly implemented one where the enemies don't scale up to provide the same challenge again. Still love the game though, even with some of its flaws. I have the guide, and I must have gone through it dozens of times as a reference guide. In fact, I might go back to alter my Pawn to it's proper profession.
  25. Just finished on 1999 Mode. If you've played before, given that you didn't use the Konami Code, it's not as hard as you might think. I mean, you should know what weapons to upgrade based on your preference, and what Vigors are effective where and to your style of "Booker." The Siren is possible, though I did luck out on the second round. Now the only trophies I need are the Handyman one... and for some reason I'm still missing two telescopes or kinetoscopes (or one of each). I can't believe I didn't notice the rooms on the last airship for the last voxophones. EDIT: On April 20th, 2013, at 5:25 PM (MST), I officially have Platinum BioShock Infinite. Turns out the Sightseer objects I was missing were the two at Monument Island Gateway. I thought I had already got kinetoscope there, but it gave me the prompt "Sightseer 36/37." Then it was obviously the telescope I had passed by after you can Sky-Line strike an enemy. I actually had "Lost Weekend" to do too. The one where you kill five enemies while drunk. The best/easiest method is to get drunk at The Graveyard Shift bar in Shantytown and kill the NPCs. Yeah, kinda cruel, but the only other moment I can think of is fighting Vox later in the game with a single bottle of Absinthe. While it might get you drunk with one bottle, once you begin fighting, the effect wears off fast. As for Heartbreaker, this is the exploit I was talking about. There's another one out there, but it's not as reliable as this. Trust me, I did this method twice because the knuckle cracking animation blocked one of my shots. And considering my Chapter Select was stuck on 1999 Mode (you can't select difficulty in 1999 Mode), I didn't feel up to the task of running through a third of the game on Easy Mode.
