I think it will just make the Vita a bit more appealing for anyone planning on getting a PS4 and will make the PS4 more appealing for anyone with a Vita.

Who says it's a matter of a single TV? You might want to play on the couch next to someone just so you can hang out with them, or in bed, or anywhere else you wouldn't want to sit down in front of a TV.
-
Yeah, this about sums it up whenever I see it mentioned and that it's actually coming out. @TheFlyingGerbil you probably have it confused with WatchDogs. Which is understandable.

God awful? Seemed alright to me though nothing spectacular.

Mature. I do this as well. I've brought this up before that I think I'm just tired of most tropes and stereotypes in games as a whole so playing as a woman allows me to break away from that a bit. If video games are meant to get me out of the real world and into a fake one that also doesn't mean that women need to be overly sexualized in this fantasy world purely because it's fantasy. It rarely fits the world of the game itself to have women looking like that. As for the specific trope she talks about it I do think that it's pretty lame. Then again, I'd think it was lame even if it was a trope on the other end of things.

$30 for the console versions is what the deal has ended up being. $55 for collector's edition. PC is unchanged. So not too much of a deal over what they already had.

Failed DRM attempts on PC?
-
How often do you buy new graphics cards to even make that statement?
-
What do you mean by TiVo deal? I've seen a lot of people complain that this isn't a DVR?
-
Steam has self-publishing? Then what the hell is this Greenlight thing?
-
...and do what with it?

Actually, since there are so many fighting games now, I can see that as a reason why they would bring back KI. There's a market for it again. Hopefully it's not terribly broken like the old ones though. Given the higher standards people have now I doubt it will be. Also, a fighting game is a great launch title because you get to dump a lot of resources into just two character models onscreen and a background. They could really sell the power of the console that way.

Considering this forum has like 10 active members, yes. -
They've already announced Rare is bringing back an old series.

I used to see it all of the time on this forum I went to with a lot more brits. -
Yeah, but you've also probably heard people talk about it on here and other places. You had to get interested in the first place and that interest isn't because anyone's saying it's some great, well made game.

So where are these devices? I don't give a shit about what's possible. I care about what's happening. And the Xbox One is happening. Where are the games for Apple TV?
-
Who is playing it at this point that doesn't know what they're getting into? I can't imagine it getting a mixed response.
-
Yeah, but the Xbox One does a lot more than that. You're underselling it. The One actually has shit that isn't widely available like sports packages and whatnot. For what you want to use it for it may not be much but it's pretty clear that most of us are not the target market for this thing.

What device does everything this thing sets out to do? Google TV comes close. Any other options?
-
I think I've spent more money on my cat than games this year. I don't regret that in the slightest.
-
This is actually even more ridiculous than what you were expecting before. Yes, that would be the future of television, but it would happen on the cable box people already have before it happened on the Xbox.
-
Oh my god, this right here is probably the biggest problem with the entire thing. It isn't an all-in-one entertainment machine, it just gives the pretense of one. If the Xbox One could actually deliver movies and tv programs to you by itself through a subscription, even if it cost more than Live does now, then I could maybe see how people might be tempted by that. But it doesn't. It's smoke and mirrors. You really shouldn't call it the Xbox One when it can't even do all this crap on its own. More like the Xbox One-Half. As it is, it's nothing more than a glorified source button on your tv remote. But you know, I still could have forgiven that if not for the RIDICULOUS online requirements and DRM. When you figure those in, this might be the worst console I've ever seen. Hell, I can play a god damn Virtual Boy without having to worry about server connections if I wanted to. With the way this thing has been built, it'll eventually be worthless as a retro gaming device. Hey man, it has Netflix, and it will still have whatever the 360 had for services along with some new ones. I think that it's not your cable box is actually a move so that it will work with whatever you have instead of it being exclusive to a company or two. I assume this also means that deals with TV providers were either easier or were completely side-stepped. For what this thing is the expectation of still having your box makes sense and I think it's one of the weakest criticisms you could have about it.

You didn't buy many games early on. Anyways, I've always thought the later PS3 boxart was an improvement. Trends can change pretty fast so we'll see how it ends up this time around. Especially if we get longer console lives due to games being augmented by cloud computing.

They couldn't even get that under control in their own presentation: http://www.polygon.com/2013/5/21/4353010/kinect-trouble-xbox-one-reveal
