  1. $50. And no one should be buying Plus just for this, obviously. I use it for the free games every month and the cloud saving. I've only bought a handful of sale games, personally. Depends on the publisher. Major publishers all charge $60 now.
  2. "Don't let technology use you!" I can see this as some sort of PSA.
  3. It's not about how TL2 is this mystical legendary game. It's just closer to D2 than D3 was which it turns out is what a lot of people wanted.
  4. Did you play the beta? Personally I was realistically hyped up for it because of that. I don't recall huge amounts of hype, really. It's a good game, that's better than D3, but it's not revolutionary. Perhaps you were taking the anti-D3ness that suddenly appeared to mean hype for this game?
  5. Thanks tips. Here's Strangelove's post "No game on the Wii would suffer incredibly from proper controller use. All the good stuff: Twilight Princess, SMG1, 2, NMH1, NHM2, and whatnot would play just fine and sometimes even better with a regular controller." He was speaking definitively. I thought you of all people, as someone who takes every chance to point out the exception to everything anyone says, would appreciate it! Dog, that shit was on the last page, I wouldn't put in *that much* effort. Also Strangelove, did you ever try it with a controller? I agree with your general reasoning. Unless it really adds to the game (and it doesn't in TP which is just a Gamecube port) I really don't want to use waggle for that long. Though I'm not exactly sure why we're discussing this... the Wii U's primary input is the controller screen thing.
  6. No. I don't. You can silence notifications. You don't have to check that website. You don't have to respond back to that text immediately.
  7. ^That's one positive example compared to an insanely large amount of shovelware.
  8. You think formats are a strength of Apple mp3 players? They typically have the least format support. No OGG and no FLAC being the big ones they're always missing. Everything you mentioned but ALAC is standard and expected on other players. SwiftKey? Are you planning on jailbreaking because you can't just download a new keyboard for iPhones like you can with Android. Though yes, the concept as a whole is annoying but then again sometimes the apps have platform specific features. PS, why not consider W8? Lumia 920 is looking like the best phone coming out period.
  9. What? Their players don't have many features they just have really great form factors. Ha, I was going to comment on how that post was a pretty good comparison of the two platforms now that we've discussed the connection aspect to death. Also I'm curious: What do you mean by "using the same apps as your friends"? Most of the stuff I can think of that's socially based is available on more than one platform (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc.)
  10. ^You could have done that for cheaper and with better sound quality. @fuchi I was pointing out that you're the one acting butthurt here, typing way too much, getting worked up over nothing and not being able to view things objectively. I think this sentence best sums up what's so wrong about everything you're saying: This is exactly what already exists with micro usb. You're just far too deep into Apple's closed off technologies to see any other way.
  11. "It's not I who is butthurt good sir, but it is you." Calm down dude. Anyways, I really don't think you realize how ubiquitous micro USB has become. Yeah sure, mini was a thing for a while, but it wasn't a major thing. Nowadays it's impossible to not find something that uses micro besides Apple products. Phones, which are by far the most purchased portable devices these days, all use micro USB. You're also throwing around a lot of ifs. Either way, why not move towards universal standards for such things rather than always being restricted and having to buy a specific set of accessories/products for compatibility? Why can't it just work? I'm not saying that the Lightning sucks or anything. I just think that it's definitely a negative that it's not universal. I have to go buy another one if it breaks whereas with micro usb myself and millions of others have tons just laying around since they've been in our products for a few years now.
  12. Quote city up there. iMessage: It defaults to "reply all" with group messages (can't remember if it fixed it) so anyone who doens't have iMessage sees what the iPhone user is sending to everyone. What it uses for group texts is not at all standard. Like with emoji it's something that really only works well with other iPhone users. Though apparently the next/newest version of emoji works for everyone which is good. Selfishness: I don't know how you misinterpreted that considering my use of the word "universal." There are many things that should be operating system agnostic. Bluetooth is. Your cell phone signal is. That's what should be strived for. Things should not be limited to either Apple or Android. The big worry here is that Apple is developing their own tech similar to NFC rather than just using NFC. Windows 8 and Android both use NFC. I think it's even been on some other devices like Blackberries. Also, MMS is "normal." It's a standardized feature across all carriers. About ports and shit: http://en.wikipedia....Definition_Link This is one of those universal things. It doesn't belong to anyone specific and provides enhanced functionality over micro usb while using the same port. JB also has stuff like audio over USB now (one area where Android is definitely lacking) so it's nice to see this stuff more widely used rather than being dependent on a specific accessory ecosystem that you can't use with anything else.
  13. And like with GoDaddy stopping its SOPA report it's only because of public image more than it is about any actual change in belief.
  14. In terms of phones Apple doesn't do anything standard and common. iMessage is great proof of that. They haven't had the same success that they've had with AirPlay. I'm curious about this. Where do you live where you see this disparity? Living in Seattle I just see shitloads of smartphones in general and the most common is definitely Android though I know plenty of people with iPhones as well. Also, when we're talking about something that will be used by other people besides you, I don't think you should be so selfish. That's why I bring up universal standards. Ideally, everything should work with every phone. Which is why in Europe Apple has to provide micro-usb adapters for iPhones.
  15. Ok, then I know one person with something similar enough to do it. I used to also know one coworker with one, but overall, it'd be a cool feature with nowhere to use it in my case. I think Apple should really get to it, and if it's patented, just license it, because they already make the new "default phone." What the hell are you talking about? More people own Android phones than Apple phones. Like Dean said, Apple still doesn't have NFC, which btw, is a universal standard that doesn't need any lawsuits. But since it's universal that likely means Apple won't use it.
  16. I actually think I'm just off by one on my iOS versions.
  17. Stuff like Android Beam isn't limited to the S3. It's Android. Everything can be as open as you want it to be. Also, you could take pictures with the volume buttons on iOS4 and probably before. I'm always amazed at how many iPhone users don't know this. Google Earth is not the same as maps. Maps= navigation, public transportation, etc.
  18. Did anyone else read the Verge's review of iOS6 and the iPhone 5? They point out that while both are great... they really do lack in a few areas compared to Android. To the point where they actually call the OS outdated. I think that Apple definitely makes some of the best hardware, but I really feel like they are falling behind with software. Steve Jobs would have never have let this happen. Anyways, the rumor is that iOS Google Maps will be out by Christmas.
  19. It's not a physical release. Deal with it. It launched at a reasonable time.
  20. One reason that they used NFC is because the phone has it do things automatically. Anyways, I wonder if it's the ultra-generic built in document viewer. If you've done any sort of number of weird things with ROMs and APKs you've probably come across it when attempting to open a file it doesn't know what to do with. This seems like something they could fix quite easily, from a non-technical perspective. Anyone have any insight on the technical side that might make this vulnerability matter? I understand that they can do this without NFC, but like Dean said, the big difference there is that at that point it requires user action.
  21. The Final Mix games weren't released here. This collection includes KH: FM. Also wasn't there a cell phone game or some shit that never got outside of Japan? It's not about the size of the userbase it's about the number of people who will buy certain types of games. I can't imagine DQX doing well in NA at all. The series has never gotten much traction outside of Japan and a MMO would definitely never work As for Type-0: PSP software sales are much smaller outside of Japan.
  22. It did come out on morning on launch date. The special treatment is you thinking it should be released at midnight in your time zone. That's also where the entitlement is coming from: You're saying that they should do things your way, the way you like them, that they have to even respond to you at all, and they're idiots for not doing things the way you want. You also keep referencing your own time zone very selfishly. Why should they care about 6pm your time? They're not in your time zone. Neither is Valve. It's also pretty clear that there wasn't internal consensus on when the game would be released. Hell, perhaps they didn't even know the Steam release time themselves (and possibly didn't care) and just used a general "9/20" as the release date. Seriously, your attitude is completely disgusting and you should be ashamed that you act like such a baby when we're talking about what time of the day a game should be released. This has been beyond stupid and I'm glad the game is finally out so you can bitch about other mundane things.
  23. Implying this is getting released outside of Japan. Also 358/2 was pretty shit so no complaints about not having the gameplay (understandable that they wouldn't want to port a DS game, too.) Anyways, I can definitely see a KH2.5 collection coming out if this does well.
  24. 1) I never said I was making an argument from it. I'm just pointing out you're a cliche. 2) Regular time is in the morning, not midnight. 3) What is "reasonable sized" to you? Their offices looked quite small from the Kotaku video and Wikipedia last had them at 29 employees. You only think this launch is badly planned because they're not giving you special treatment. 4) It actually did come out at 10am PST. 10:05 to be specific. 5) Yes, because I'm sure that the guy running the twitter is really concerned about what some guy is asking about the release date and will go into details about the studios reasons. Once again, entitlement. Also, who gives a fuck what you have planned and what time of day it is released? Why should the developers even remotely give a fuck about your specific needs? The game isn't going anywhere.
