On the Civil War Trailer: "You've operated with unlimited power and no supervision." Thought to myself "I don't see why not having optical super powers makes him a bad guy.".

Fair dos, I always thought that "Duty Roster" was an American "rota". *shrug*
-
Wouldn't "roster" be the closest fit? Roster feels like an American word.

"Just"

Whatever it is they nicked off EA I'm sure it looked cool before it got nuked.

I might also find people like me and Mister Jack and Danielpholt though... With three people actually trying to do stuff and three others just muddling around killing things, and given that we're way over-levelled for the raid I'm sure we'd scrape through. Or at least be able to get through *some* of the checkpoints. I'm just saying, I'd like it as an option. It doesn't stop anyone else not using it.

That's not cut content, that's content that you want to be in a game not being in a game. I'm not going to tell you that you have to like Battlefront, let alone buy it, but in my (tainted) opinion it is a great game that is a lot of fun and is well worth the money even without expansion packs (which admittedly I don't have to pay for). All games ever have "cut content". The scope at the outset of development is always huge and as budgets and deadlines and technical limitations become a reality that original scope gets reduced and what looked amazing in a vertical slice get's cut because realising it in the finished game simply would not work.

How is it different if I go to a website, join a lobby of random people who want to play a certain game mode then go back to Destiny and make a fireteam, versus I join a lobby in Destiny to play a certain game mode with random people? Even if it is a clusterfuck, it's a clusterfuck I can theoretically play versus a raid I definitely can't. I mean ffs people can beat bosses in Dark Souls 2 with Twitch chat I'm sure a group of people could eventually muddle through Crota's End or Vault of Glass if a few of them at least are mic-ed and coordinated..

tbh, I just wanna matchmake into it. I know, I know "oooh its so complicated", "oooh you need to stand here while they stand there" blah blah blah. Given the option of never seeing it because I can't find five people who jump online as soon as I snap my fingers or hopping online and hoping a fireteam is about, I just would appreciate being allowed to try and muddle through with randos on my own time. LFG and the other sites are just matchmaking outside of the game. It's pants.
-
I'll try the fml thing. I am massively unreliable with regard to being online at a set time. I don't suppose you can matchmake into it?
-
So, you can't solo Vault of Glass then. Lol.

Rocket League is a fantastic game that features micro-transactions. Games have always had content cut from them. There have always been shitty ports. There will always be shitty deals. I think games are better than they have ever been. There is more depth, variety and choice than ever. We're a million miles from the days of muddy brown "realistic" shooters and the occasional racing game being all there was on offer. We've got everything from CoD, to Forza, to Destiny, Rocket League, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Volume, upcoming titles like No Man's Sky and Detroit. Unique games like Don't stop talking and nobody blows up, and TIS-100 that would never have seen the light of day 10 or 15 years back, and all at prices ranging from free to $60. There's so much great content out there that you could play a different game every day and never have to touch any of the shitty content. If all you know of games is watching Jimquisition squirty plays and rants, then yeah, it looks crappy. But bear in mind that he goes out of his way to dig up this crap as it is good for his content. He's not going to make a video of himself where he spends five minutes saying. "This here game is pretty alright." or "This game was free and the microtransactions are inoffensive, I wholeheartedly support this." Same goes for Yahtzee, reviews of games he likes are never as popular as the ones he heaps scorn on.

There was a BBC show called Being Human about werewolves and vampires and such..?
-
Technically, I started House of Wolves first by mistake.
-
I'm nearly done with vanilla story and house of wolves. I suppose I should do Dark Below next. Nearly at 200 light now as well.

I think the supernatural elements hurt Beyond a bit. The slow pace and choices are more... suited? To a game (mostly) grounded in reality. I'll be interested to see how it turns out.

I sort of like them, but at the same time, I've seen a couple of Year1 Elitists get snooty at people who don't get the references. They're a tiny minority though so it's not impacting my enjoyment. It's sort of an internet rant, but I really don't get the need to criticise people who are late to a franchise. To me, if I meet someone who hasn't seen a film I love, or doesn't get a pop culture reference, I get excited as I get to share that first time experience and recapture it a little for myself.

Star Wars is space Kurosawa.

The Halloween stuff is boss! Really fun little update from the guys.

This is all kinds of awful The lengths they went to to crowbar in the crass sexism are extraordinary.

If it wasn't intentional, then it was amazingly... Naive? Or just plain dumb. I dunno. As dumb decisions go, it's up there with tearing apart the middle-east and handing it over as "Israel" in '47.

It was deliberate. Trying to cosy up with Germany in the mistaken belief that they don't want to own the mistakes of their forebears coupled with a desire to stir up the anti-muslim far right. Pointless really as Islamophobes don't need any help and Germany as a nation is grown up and doesn't need to sweep its past under a thread bare rug.

National Guilt is the gift that keeps on giving. Kudos to Germany for telling Net to get back in his box.
