  1. I don't like the Dualshock/2/3 D-Pad. It's better than the 360 one but not as good as the Genesis, Saturn, SNES, NES, Classic Controller etc. I'm also old school in that I don't like wings on controllers that use D-Pads primarily (I prefer the CC over the CCP for example) I used one of these when I played the PC version of Sonic CD and it worked beautifully! Hahahahah. Wow. I like Pinball video games. So sue me.
  2. I thought it was because up until modern times water was bad and fermenting alcohol was a safer drink. Ditto with wine.
  3. Yeah, I need to replay the original Sonic games but the PS3 controller sucks for the Genesis collection and my real Genesis is still in storage until we buy a house. As for a pinball sim, it's decent but not very authentic to actual pinball. It's closer to Sonic Spinball than say Pinball Hall of Fame. Speaking of, I can't wait for the release of Pinball Arcade, though I haven't decided if I want the PC or PS3 version yet.

  5. Ahh ETNT, the people who remind you it's okay to eat an Egg McMuffin now and again.
  6. Go to Maine and Vermont and ask people why they drink Moxie soda.
  7. Bummer: I opted for $17 of Gamestop credit vs $14 of cash and there's not a thing I want at the moment. Oh well, inevitable future game purchase savings funding I guess.

I got that Amazon gc thinking I was going to get a PSN gc, sadly Amazon doesnt sell them. the only ones available are from other sellers and they cost more than 20 bucks. The hell with that.

I traded in my copy of Sonic Generations I bought about a month ago on NewEgg for $20 ($3 for a rental isn't bad) and since I have the PC version now I don't need two copies. I do want the latest Prof Layton game but it's $5 more than Amazon. A wired 360 controller is $10 more. I remember now why I mostly stopped shopping there ...

All of GS' best deals are under their price drop tab. Especially the used versions. Thats where I always immediately check.

  8. Good to know someone can read! My point of recognizing the Constitution was to deter the inevitable "Oh you hate big government! Why are you okay with the Post Office??!!" comments that some people would've tossed out. Damned if you do; damned if you don't.
  9. Oh, believe me I agree! I think the biggest failure of the post office is needing to run as a business and then forbidden to run like a business by Congress. And for anyone who wonders why I am okay with the Post Office despite being it being a Federal program well ... Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution: "The Congress shall have Power To ... establish Post Offices and post Roads ... " That and it never took tax money outside of fees for services used by the general public (the Post office is accessible to all people and does not take from one group to give to another)
  10. I liked Adventure 2. It was Sonic Heroes that bored me. After playing the first two levels on max settings I can safely say that I won't be missing the PS3 version outside of the little "Ding" of the trophies and annoying my friends with them on Facebook. Why hasn't Steam gotten into the pestering racket yet?
  11. I got a free PC download code for Sonic Generations. I wonder if I should sell my PS3 version. I only have a couple hours into it.

To be honest, I'm thinking of keeping the PC version because the PS3 version doesn't have the pinball DLC (yes, pinball is what decides my platform ... )

Amazon has the PC download for $7.50 (redeemable through Steam) and that's the cheapest I've seen it. I see Gamestop is offering $18 for the PS3 version at the moment.

Oh nice, I was gonna offer you $10 for the PC code. Amazon, here I come...

Yeah, I can't cheat you like that. :P

  12. Indeed. One branch of the Federal government that should be modernized, changed and given a complete overhaul is the Post Office. If ever there was a better example of government mismanagement it's the Post Office. While their business model worked relatively well (never once receiving Federal funds) when they had a monopoly for over 200 years, it's obvious that something is broken if they can't turn a profit. FedEx and UPS seem to do just fine and they have to pay sales, gas, property and other taxes while the post office, IIRC, does not.
  13. Well a lot of that can be attributed to Newt Gingrich and congress. Hell, I'd take another Clinton back in office if we had the 92 Congress back! There are two types of Republicans, really. There are the fiscally conservative Republicans (Jim DeMint, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul etc.) and there are those who really just want to be in charge and manage the big government (John McCain and George H. W. Bush) Then there are the centrist types like Olympia Snowe and Scott Brown. W was all over the board and it's hard to pin him down as far as fiscal issues are concerned. What I find amusing is how people rail and howl against the Bush tax cuts forget that Obama extended them (with a Democrat congress no less.)
  14. We were there. Many Republicans stayed home in 2006 simply because they were frustrated with Republicans acting like Democrats. I also find it amusing that many of my Democrat acquaintances are still bringing up Bush as if he was running again. He's sort of the Farmer Jones for Napoleon Obama.
  15. Going to enjoy the sunshine and 70 degree weather. Have fun indoors ya nerds!

It's not hot until it breaks 100. :P

Although I should say that I live in an area with consistently high winds, which does make a difference. Also the humidity's not too high here (normally, it's high today).

It's cold by me. 60 F and rainy! I love it. I get to stay indoors!

It was nice out. The lady and I went and did a little shopping and then had a fish fry (Capital region / Western MA cuisine) then we went home and I baked some bread. Fun day. :D

  16. I'm not totally seeing the Pokemon connection but for less than $3 on Steam you should pick it up. It's quite fun.
  17. I find it interesting that the same people who bitch about having very little money are the same people who tend to bitch about not wanting to take a job because it's below them. I guess some people just like to bitch.

  18. It's worth noting that beer is full of calories! They don't call 'em beer bellies for nothing.
  19. Oh and this was under $3 and I've already played it quite a bit this morning. Now off to go out in the sunshine.
  20. http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=106182,00.html If I could fix the tax code, I would change it to be less based on income and more based on consumption. The problem is that the income tax is used more as a social welfare system and not to run essential government programs such as the military and the interstate highway system. Prior to the income tax the Feds got most of their money from tax on alcohol but as more and more towns and states went dry they had to find a new source of income.
  21. Wow! That was a fast rejection. The woman wants her list price and not a penny less. Guess we may be walking away and starting to look again.

Maybe I should've called in Roger Smith to negotiate for me?

Everything is negotiable, Saturnine. :P In this case I'm talking about a house, though.

  22. Your justifications for piracy never get any less stupid.
  23. Yeah, I think that's pretty weak analogy and more being an ass trying to justify the fact that you steal. Pirating software is more like sneaking people into a drive-in. You're getting something for nothing that other people paid for.
