TL;DR: With digital it either works or it doesn't. Signal loss isn't the same as with analog. It's either +5 or +12 volts traveling across the cable. Now these cables are always short (HDMI has a length limit of something like 15 meters with the highest standard IIRC) Since 99% of the population uses 6' or shorter cables, signal attenuation really isn't an issue.

I don't quite get how someone would think SMB3 would have no replay value. I continue to play that game to this day. It's like saying there's no replay value in Checkers. -

You will now go play Wind Waker ... and fucking LOVE it! As for me, well I can add Pikmin 2 (New Play Control version) to the list. Wow! the Wii controls made a great game even better! Where's my Pikmin 3, Nintendo?! My current quandary is whether to go back to Sonic Colors, start Skyward Sword or actually start Atelier Rorona. I really wish I had more time ...

I absolutely hate the word "hardcore gaming" but Contra 4 IS Hardcore with emphasis on the hard. But then, that's what Contra is all about. One hit kills, enemies that require a certain number of hits to kill you, memorizing enemy patterns. Yep, effing classic!

Well, I love the Muppets and hope that it's great but at the same time I don't want to be disappointed since the Muppets haven't really had a good performance since Muppet Christmas Carol.

I find it sad that there's an "Extended cut" of that film and so many legendary films exist only in fragments or are forgotten entirely.

Pikmin 2 plays so much better with Wii controls you almost think that it was designed for the Wii in the first place.

Sadly that letter will be filed under "Recycle Bin." If enough people skip out on the game or buy it when it's $20 or less companies may get the idea ... but I doubt it.

It is a lot of fun for a PC shmup. Use a controller as the keyboard / mouse controls suck. I used a Nyko PS3 wired controller and it was smooth.

Heh, I think it's more you don't get it unless you're into it. Hell, I don't get the people who are super obcessive with shmups. I like them but some people go nuts for them.

Shmups are very much an acquired taste. Otomedius is about average in relation to the Gradius games I've played. I preordered it more or less to support the genre getting US releases. Ikaruga is still the gold standard for me by which all other shmups are based.

Well, besides Christmas presents and the like I've managed to pick up a few things for myself: and some DVD's This movie was fantastic! I'm in a sort of Pre-Code talkie mood lately. and this last one was just over a dollar so you can't go wrong there. Perhaps the only good British monster movie ...

My copy is set to arrive at my parents' house tomorrow via UPS. I most likely won't visit my parents until Wednesday at the earliest. Between Thanksgiving and Pikmin 2, I think this will sit on my shelf for a bit. My sister already has her Wii set up in my old bedroom ready to play her copy of it (the Wii had been at our grandparents' house where she spends the weekends assisting my grandmother with household stuff) I'll be annoyed if she beats it before me. How's the Soundtrack CD?

Otomedius Excellent. I haven't beat it with all characters though. It's a fun pick up and play game filled with large breasted anime chicks. What else could a guy want. My wife rolls her eyes whenever she sees me playing it.

Ditto. I'd even go with a $1 coin. I'll even go so far as to agree with Barry when he says we should think about changing our coinage to make it less expensive. I'd eliminate the penny and make the nickel out of a different metal.
