I'm Libertarian on the issue. I think it's gross and nasty but as long as you aren't spitting out babies that I have to pay for or making me pay for your abortions, birth control or STD meds, have at it.

I agree, though I feel the same way about anyone spitting out babies that can't afford them. To be honest, I'd be happy to pay for birth control and abortions if it meant avoiding paying for kids.

  1. I ripped the audio from a silent movie to an MP3 CD. I think I just made the greatest soundtrack CD of all time ... of all time!

4'33" is my favorite song. I listen to it every day when nothing else is playing.

Actually it's the soundtrack to Metropolis (the most recent rerecording)

Nice. That reminds me, years ago a friend was into big car audio systems and I'd make him bass test discs that we'd cruise around and listen to. One time without telling him, I added a bonus track - the sound effects from the beach landing scene in Saving Private Ryan. Bullets hitting steel, machine guns, explosions, etc. Good times...

I live in Maryland and I HATE IT. Maybe I just live in the wrong area, but it is so BORING and there's crime EVERYWHERE.

  5. I have the night to myself. How do I spend a night away from the woman? With Rifftrax, Buster Keaton and Gamera films of course!

Jezebel is easy to get banned from. It's getting a star there that is a chore, not that I'd want one now, but I did for a long time just to prove I could and still be male. It's not possible.

haha, you have to get it as a girl and then come out of the closet. "I'm a man! Suck it!"

You know who was terribly popular on there: McBeeferton. He's got a charm to his writings. Him and I posted there some bantering back and forth once, just to see what we could get away with. He got mad props on there and even a follower or two. I was like a wingman to one of Kotaku's greatest posters. Second fiddle, but enjoyed every second of it. He's so Manly.

  7. "At press time, Cavanaugh reportedly needs to get his fucking priorities straight." Hear Hear! Fucking hipsters need to stop being spoiled brats worshiping their Apple products and get back to work. Oh and take a shower and tell their parents that they love them.

  9. Even though Steve Jobs was an arrogant prick who would double-cross his best friend (and did, many times) it's sad that he died so young. I pray that he found the Truth before it was too late.

  13. For us, we will be going to the museums and to see the locations of where famous writers and such lived. Of course, England is so tiny (relatively speaking of course) that one can easily see much more of it via day trips than you can going to a much larger country like the USA. If you do ever go to New York city, take a day trip up to Albany to the New York State museum. Everyone should see the 9/11 exhibit.
  14. Chill out, I'm not dusting off my red jacket just yet. I was told off by an American colleague for putting 24hr format in a contract, so I thought I'd see what the general consensus was here. Haha, no I was just being silly. In 1984 (the book) the Party forces the switch to the 24-hour clock. Metropolis had a 10 hour clock:
  15. My bachelor party is going to be at the largest arcade in the world. How fucking cool is that?

It's in New Hampshire of all places ...

  16. People know exactly what it means, we just don't use it in most conversations. The big reason is that analog clocks don't use the 24 hour time but instead display 12 hour time. This is one of those cases where if there is an possibility for confusion between AM and PM (such as a 24 hour operations center like a hospital, emergency services, police, military, legal briefings etc.) then the 24 hour clock is used. If I say I'll pick you up at 8, and don't be late, you won't be outside at 8AM. Forcing the US into a 24 hour clock system is something straight out of Orwell (literally) so don't expect us to change our watches to 24 hour time.
  17. Tripod by Christopher.B, on Flickr A quick sketch I did in my Moleskine at work with a pencil and a fountain pen. I thought about using it for my planned "War of the Worlds" get together that no one wants to go to ... Oh well.
  18. Sort of. Restaurants in New York (to attract German sailors and immigrants) offered "Steak cooked in the Hamburg style" which was essentially ground beef heavily salted and mixed with onion and breadcrumbs. In Germany (that fine culinary capital of the world) this would be consumed raw or cooked. Of course there is quite the debate on the origin of this the finest of all "poor man's" food. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_hamburger_in_the_United_States Man am I glad I'm going to Red Robin tonight.

I dunno, I was going to do it as a party with good food and stuff and maybe different themes related to TWotW radio broadcast but the reaction from people was if I had suggested they come over and watch me field dress a feral cat.
