  1. My connection isn't the problem, it's one of the best in the USA. There's a decent chance it's my computer, but it's a 4-year-old MacBook Pro that was top of the line (for a mac lol) when I bought it, and no other site gives me problems like this. They seem to hate Macs as my Macbook (non pro) chokes on it as well. Oh well, one less regular for them I guess. I will miss Lifehacker, though. :-(
  2. My cousin is the only one who plays Pokemon that I know of. and he fucking picks the same starter as me. >_> ...To make matters worse, I only just recently found out you can breed your starters. xD The first thing my fiancee and I did when we started HG/SS was to go and catch a bunch of pidgeys and trade them for the starters. That way we all had three of each. I still need to import my Blub/Char/Squir team from my copy of Sapphire.
  3. I bought some Sam's Club Diet soda and was putting it in the fridge at work. The boss thought I had cans of Coors Light.

I would've had to stop you if I thought it was Coors Light, because it's Coors Light.

Yeah, I don't drink any beer so I can't really comment on that.

You don't have to drink beer to disapprove of Coors Light. It's just that bad.

  4. Haters gonna hate and people will just believe the AVGN on this one without playing the game. Yeah you needed Nintendo Power or a guide to beat it but the story was awesome and the platforming was great. I'd love to see a remake of it on some handheld in the future. Also, beating Simon's Quest was the most satisfying NES ending ever.
  5. The Wii version was so incredibly buggy that they had to do a recall. I don't think they want to even bother with it here in the States.
  6. I feel like such a nerd, I actually read this as the word "mercury". I didn't even notice that you'd used the atomic symbol until I reread it. That's because you're awesome. I'm so used to writing silver as Ag, gold as Au, Mercury as Hg etc. I'm such a geek my Kosher Salt at home has a label of NaCl on it.
  7. Never loan a friend a DVD. That's what DVDShrink is for.
  8. Yeah, it's still a fish here too. Best fish there is! Shame most of the 'Cod' you buy in the store now is only like 20% Atlantic Cod and 80% Whiting/Haddock. It's going extinct from overfishing. ...Too tasty to stop fishing it though. It's also got elevated levels of Hg so it's probably a good idea to not eat it much. Alaskan Pollock or Cusk are both good white fish substitutes for cod. I tried smelt (candlefish) last year. Very weird to eat a whole fish: bones and all.
  9. Wow, here a cod is a fish or Cape Cod.
  10. I should probably take pictures of my collection but it will be hard to take photos of cardboard boxes in a closet. T_T
  11. AY, Bee. See. Dee, Ee, Eff, Gee, Aytch, eye, Jay, Kay, Ell, Emm, Enn, Oh, Pee, Kew, Arr, Ess, Tea, You, Vee, Double-You, Ecks, Why and Zee Seriously, what the heck is Zed? It sounds like a stupid nickname for someone. :-P
  12. Sometimes I think I have the weirdest interests but then I go online and realize that there are people far weirder than me.

Beef: that's not weird, it's just a preference.

Dean I just mean that when you venture online you learn that some people who like to wear diapers and freaky stuff like that that you realize that your DVD/BD and videogame collections aren't all that odd.

Dude, did you ever watch Insomnia w/ Dave Attell on Comedy Central? There are some cities I am not going to walk around at night, let me tell you!

No, I never have. Dare I ask?

  13. If Nintendo released a remake in HD on the Wii2 I'd buy it. I'm very tempted to just pick the game up and give it another play through. When you have a backlog (film and videogame) like mine you don't do that very often.
  14. Man, Salamance was awesome. He was tough to train right but damn he was awesome. I want a Salamance again ...
  15. She looks like John Travolta in Hairspray. Though she does have a point about celebrities. They just need to shut up about their personal lives.
  16. Bit the bullet and preordered Pokemon Black and White. One for me and one for the fiancee. I have no idea which to choose.
  17. I knew someone else out there loved Simon's Quest! Anyway, I used to work out to the music from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. I guess it's less cheesy than "You're the best around"
  18. It's as if King Ghidorah became a Pokemon. I like that!
  19. I see the kid gets his moobs from his mother's side of the family. Too bad they can't afford to give the kid a haircut.
  20. Tonight I watched Sherlock Jr. It's the classic tale of a man who falls asleep in a movie theater and decides to join the movie. One of Keaton's finest.
  21. FALSE! I drink Root and Birch Beers only. The person below me is able to read and write above a 6th grade level.
  22. Well the Fish Fry places here don't have just fish; they have hamburgers and stuff too but no one really goes there for that. But in thinking, there is one place by my parents that actually calls themselves a fish n chips restaurant. I ate there once and it was good but rather pricey.
  23. Up north in New England (an area that was at one time first populated with Puritans and other Englishmen) and is in an area where cod and other fish are plentiful it's no surprise that seafood shops aren't uncommon around here. Granted, they aren't exclusively fish n chips but they are a menu options on both seafood shops and non-seafood shops alike. Though depending on the place you may get great fish or crappy frozen crap. Somewhat ironically the best Fish n' chips around me comes from a local grocery store chain. You can get a nice haddock and fries for about $5. In New England and the Capital District of Upstate NY there is another phenomenon called "Fish Fry." This is a strip of fish (usually haddock, pollock or cusk) that is fried and placed on a hot dog bun. Usually it is served with chili sauce (not the same thing as that stuff from Texas but more of a relish with tomato sauce) or tartar sauce or in rare cases, catsup. Here's the best picture I could find online of this New England/Upstate NY find:
