@Mr. GOH! Would that still be the case even if lab-grown meat was perfected to the point that it was completely indistinguishable from meat grown on a living animal? Like what if they can clone your thigh muscle for a transplant after an injury, and it will be perfect and identical in every way to your real thigh muscle from before the injury, and they use the exact same techniques to grow food meat as well? Would you consider that to be "really" [animal] meat, or is it still just [animal]-like?

It doesn't gross me out or anything, so yeah if all ethical concerns could be eliminated I'd give it a try.

I have a wireless keyboard & touchpad, and it's fine for browsing the web or whatever, but it's too unwieldy for games.
-
I want it for games that rely heavily on the mouse, and the Steam controller's touchpad seems better for that than the DS4's (which is fine for little bits, but not for extended usage). I also hate trying to control a cursor with a thumbstick. *Edit - If I'm misunderstanding something I would like to know because I am not opposed to saving the $35 [emoji16]
-
I also ordered a Steam controller since I like playing games on the TV even when they don't support regular controllers.
-
Got Orwell, The Turing Test, and Sunless Sea in the Steam sale, all for $19. I got out a lot lighter than I feared.

That's almost enough to sell me a Vive. God I want that game.

Upper 80's are warm. I'm going by my local weather, so ~80% humidity most of the time. I will grant that living in Kansas we tend to have more of a breeze than you're probably used to, and that really does make a big difference. Also I probably need to define "breeze", which is anything less than like 15 mph wind. Anything less than 7-8 mph is uncomfortably still almost no matter the temperature (unless it's below freezing).

Wait, they're taking away my Nightstalker? What the actual fuck?
-
"Hot" starts at 95F, but given the usual weather in the UK I'll give them that high 80's are close enough (especially with no AC around). When I was making fun of them on Twitter weather.com was still showing highs of ~80F.

I mean something more like "here's a gameplay video, and this is the release quarter" rather than "yes we are working on this" because that second one could turn into a 2022 release on the Nintendo Spank or whatever stupid name they come up with for the next thing (I'm aware the first one could too, but it's not quite as likely).
-
People are disappointed they didn't go the other way with it and improve and further integrate the story, because what was there was really cool and intriguing.
-
I'll probably get one when Mario launches, assuming they've officially officially confirmed at least another Pikmin or mainline Pokemon.
-
It's fucking gorgeous, if nothing else.
-
Yeah, hopefully they can get enough funding to finish the first episode at least, and then use the proceeds from that to finish the rest.
-
Oh yeah, my first comment about it on Discord was something along the lines of "I like how the new Uncharted stars Definitely Not Lara Croft".
-
I'm amazed this topic never really got much discussion of the new Hitman. Anyway, Io is now an independent studio, and they retain full control of the Hitman IP. Yay! Hopefully this means we'll be able to get a Season 2, especially since episodic games are one of the easier kinds of games for independent studios to finance.

Oh, yeesh, that's bad. *Edit - If Laura's description of events is correct, then I can see how they ended up where they were. According to her she was cast as the character before the character was designed, she was just an intelligent, strong-willed, South African woman at that point. Then after she was cast and they'd begun rehearsing the character designers came up with the current design for the character, with her being black. So then they were faced with either fire the voice actor, redesign the character to be white (and thus lose a strong character of color), or go forward with it. I can see how none of those options are particularly appealing. Sounds like they need to change something about the process to try to prevent something like that happening again.
-
Saw what? As far as her voice being distinctive, I haven't played an Uncharted game in probably 5 years. And Dean is correct that I haven't seen Stargate (well, not more than a couple episodes infinity years ago) or Farscape.

I believe we've settled on OG Xbox. Which is dumb, but there you go, Xbone really fucked the naming.
-
The way I look at it, if you're a politician and hold religious views (or really any moral views) I find morally problematic then there are two options: either you will, based on those views, act in ways I don't want, so I don't want you in office, or you lack the moral conviction to stick to your beliefs, so I don't want you in office.

20/15 corrected, so slightly better than "normal". My TV actually isn't HDR (I got it before that was much of a thing) so that's not a factor. When I said the difference was comparable to the 720p/1080p difference from the same distance I meant that to downplay the difference: I can hardly tell a difference between those two resolutions from that distance either if I'm not specifically looking for it.
-
Even from my couch (about 10 feet away, with a 55 inch screen) it is noticeably better than 1080p, but it's not mind blowing. It's comparable to the difference between 1080p and 720p from the same distance.

Content-based is bad, viewpoint based is almost never okay (I can't think of a situation where it's okay but I don't like to talk in absolutes). So there are situations where the government might say "we're not going to allow this sort of content", like for instance a public facility saying they won't rent space to anyone discussing abortion or whatever, and that might be okay even though it's based on the content of the speech. What the government absolutely cannot do is say "we'll rent space to anti-abortion people, but not pro-abortion people" because that's based on the viewpoint of the speech, not just the type of content. Trump's blocking of people is almost certainly viewpoint-based (I can't imagine he's blocking people who agree with him) which is the most suspect type of restriction there is.

Not interested enough to buy a console just for that game, no.
