  1. I know everyone's super concerned with whether I get Destiny and what platform I get it on.
  2. I cancelled my preorder. I actually figured out a way to play the game with a mouse and keyboard in front of my TV using a lapdesk, so I solved that problem, but then I realized that if I get it I'll probably like it but compulsively play it way more than my enjoyment would justify, so I'd rather just not let it into my life. *Edit - As far as performance goes, I was able to run it at a flawless 4k60 with everything maxed except SMAA instead of MSAA (which imo SMAA tends to get better coverage than MSAA anyway) and ambient occlusion on HDAO instead of whatever the max is called. This is on a GTX 1080, i7 6700k, and 16 GB of RAM.
  3. I didn't even know what that game was until just now, but based on Youtube gameplay I am not at all interested.
  4. Yes BUT I am ever so slightly skeptical of Odyssey (due mostly to the "real world" areas, they are very off-putting to me), so I'm going to make sure it's good before getting it.
  5. I'm sure various people have seen me say this on Twitter already, but I'm doing my utmost to restrain myself from buying a Switch now due to the good Mario + Rabbids reviews. My self-imposed rule was that I'd get it once there are two exclusives out that I want, and so far M+R only makes one. The next one will most likely be Mario Odyssey.
  6. Well, you guys had reassured me about playing with a controller, but I just played the beta and goddamn, I am so much deadlier with a mouse, I know I would always be dragging the team down playing with a controller, but playing on the computer monitor just is not as immersive as on the TV. I guess I could play with a controller on the TV when I'm playing solo and switch to monitor/mouse when I'm in a fireteam...
  7. Apparently on PC they have regions just like StarCraft, so you can't play with people in the US region and Europe region at the same time. That is lame as balls.
  8. Here's my dilemma with Destiny 2: 1. I want to play it on the TV instead of my computer screen 2. That means I will be playing with a controller (likely Steam controller if I play on PC) 3. I am worried that on PC I will be at too much of a disadvantage, even PvE (I don't really do PvP so I'm not worried there) 4. Getting it on console requires resubscribing to their premium multiplayer service, effectively doubling the cost of the game I don't know what to do
  9. Yeah, I don't understand why people are so upset, to me it looks just like the original but 3D.
  10. Brandy, you're a fine girl

What a good wife you would be

But my life, my lover, my lady is the Zee

  11. Just finished Rime. It was pretty as hell, but that's about all it really has going for it. It was fine, I don't regret having played it, but it wasn't really anything special.
  12. I liked most of them, but I don't even remotely understand #6.
  13. Resolution: to not buy any more games (excepting new releases) until my backlog is down to 5.

    1. Mr. GOH!

      Mr. GOH!

Pyre better number 1 on your backlog.

It's actually #2 after Rime, mostly because Rime is shorter so will come off my backlog quicker.

  14. Oh yeah, Japan Studio for sure, completely forgot about them.
  15. Supergiant will definitely go on my list if I enjoy Pyre as much as I'm expecting. Bioware is another one like Bungie, that I would have put on the list a few years ago, but now they seem to be drifting further and further from what I want from them (although I did quite enjoy Inquisition).
  16. New cinematic trailer for Origins: Which has made me want to repost the greatest video game trailer of all time:
  17. Just finished Aven Colony. As I said in the What Are You Currently Playing thread, it's basically Tropico in space but with less personality. It was a lot of fun though, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes the Tropico or Anno style of economic management city builder.
  18. Yeah, this is hard. I would have said Bungie, but every decision they make with Destiny seems like they're going "What would Ethan not like? We'll do that." so idk anymore.
  19. New Jurassic Park theme park builder game from the Planet Coaster people. Hell to the yeah!
  20. Maybe it's a UK thing, I've never seen an ad on Amazon Prime videos.
  21. @FLD I haven't seen War yet so no spoilers, but it being ~15 years in the future would also cause problems with all the apes being completely shocked that a human could talk. I mean, if it's that soon then the older apes would remember when all humans could talk, even if none have been able to do so for the last few years.
  22. Black Flag was pretty great except for all the dumb parts where you had to go ashore (although I did enjoy freeing all the slaves from the plantations).
  23. Speaking of Legend of Legaia, we were cleaning out our basement a couple weekends ago and I found this: One of the few JRPGs I've ever liked.
  24. I've been playing Aven Colony and really enjoying it. It doesn't have nearly the same personality as Tropico, but I love the alien colonization theme and mechanically it's a joy to play.
