  1. I didn't say it wasn't a marketing term, I just said it wasn't meaningless. It has a meaning.
  2. Yeah, if How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days had made a billion dollars, it still wouldn't be a "blockbuster". I mean, from the Wikipedia article: "The scale of production" is a perfect way to describe what makes something AAA (or at least one aspect of it). *Edit* - I can't believe this didn't occur to me before. The first sentence of the AAA Wikipedia article is
  3. My wife went to a nearby town to visit a friend this evening, so I've been playing Titanfall all night. My team in this game suuuuuucked. I'm only one man, I can only do so much.
  4. No, I analogized it to a blockbuster, I didn't say they were synonyms.

  6. I know he's Canadian, but Stryker, and the unit Wolverine served with in Vietnam, are American.
  7. *Edit* - So actually it does introduce another plot-hole with the other movies, though one I didn't notice until now:
  8. Days of Future Past. It didn't actually fix any of the plot holes that had been created by previous movies, but it also didn't create any new ones that I noticed, and the pre-existing ones were less noticeable just because they weren't new this time around. Also:
  9. Yeah, on Netflix if you watch episodes back-to-back it skips straight to the end of the intro to start. It's really nice.
  10. I'd agree that it's not well-defined enough to support a claim of false advertising, but that doesn't mean it's entirely without meaning. *Edit* - Again, like the term "Blockbuster".
  11. You're forgetting about the fairies from Ocarina of Time! Damn they were hot...
  12. But they still can optimize for the hardware in a way that's just not possible on PC.
  13. I want to see it, but at the same time I'm irritated that they insist on further entangling the new movies with the first trilogy. There are just so many plotholes between First Class and X1-3, I wish they'd just made it a full-on reboot. Without spoilers, do they perhaps use timey-wimeyness to fix those issues?
  14. I'm sure we'll get there. We're still early days, before devs have really learned to take full advantage of every scrap of power. Just look at how much better 2013's PS360 games look than 2006's did.
  15. The reviews I've seen make it seem like it's good, but not full $60 good. Of course part of that is that I wasn't terribly interested to start with.
  16. The director says PC on high settings is the same as next gen consoles. Probably just marketing BS, because we already know it's running at 900p on PS4 (*Edit* - And 792p on Xbone), and even Ubisoft wouldn't make a PC port so bad it's limited to 900p. Most likely the assets and such are identical, but PC will still be able to do higher resolutions, better antialiasing, etc.
  17. Alright, spent an hour last night playing Titanfall through it, and I can officially confirm there's no noticeable latency. Yay!
  18. Yeah, but that means it was re-rendered after-the-fact, which means they can do things like fix framerate and whatnot. So while it may technically be "gameplay", it's not in the spirit of a gameplay video.
  19. Well I've gotta find something on which to spend all this small-town lawyer money I'm pulling down...
  20. Bruce Wayne suing Superman for damages caused to Wayne Enterprises properties.
  21. Publishers like to lie and call "in-engine" videos "gameplay" videos because it sounds better.
  22. Apparently Microsoft heard me, because with the June update you'll be able to select a profile for automatic sign-in without Kinect! Yay!
  23. Arkham Origins was a different studio, so even though I just thought it was pretty okay (Cold, Cold Heart was great though) I'm still really excited for this.
