  1. Yeah, that would be my advice too, wait until you've got more money to do a bigger upgrade.
  2. I've got an AMD CPU and an Nvidia GPU and have never noticed any issues.
  3. I like the part in the middle with like 20 shots of the Fonz in a row.
  4. Often companies will use the same shell for multiple devices (router/switch/access point/etc) so it could be the same series but not actually the same device.
  5. My very first 360 controller finally got too messed up to use. Rest well, friend.

Typical Ethan. Makes up an excuse about controllers to mask the fact he can't drive for shit in GTA V.

You should give it a proper send off...

I stuck it in the controller drawer in the living room to be the shitty controller player 4 has to use. ;-)

  6. I just watched Civil War Part 2, and it is a definite step up in quality. Gives me hope for the rest of the season.
  7. So not just client to client. Right, sorry, I just meant that you can put SteamOS on any PC and dual-boot. That's for distributing the steam machines, but again I was under the impression you could just download and install Steam OS, which would obviously not be subject to the same time constraints that distributing beta hardware carries.
  8. Steam OS is? Or the steambox? Cause from my understanding you can stream to any PC.
  9. I hope in Valve-speak "soon" this time is sooner than November 15. Depending on how well it works, the in-home streaming could make me reconsider my PS4 preorder.
  10. x2 4 LAN + 1 WAN gigabit/dual band wireless n router. $38 on Amazon. I'd been kicking around the idea of upgrading my network from 100 Mb/wireless G, but I didn't want to spend the money to upgrade just to N and getting a well-rated gigabit+N router was upwards of $100 until I saw this one.
  11. lol, I posted that from my phone, which generates more typos than normal.
  12. Audio feedback on the pads is... interesting. That seems like something you could easily lose with a loud game or headphones. I wonder why they went with that instead of vibrational feedback like my phone uses when I type on the screen.
  13. It looks like a step backward to me... Diagonally backwards.
  14. Yeah, I can't imagine why you'd waste money upgrading any cats other than the ones the characters own. Even if you save them in the garage there liable to just disappear, but the owned ones are always there. As a side effect I can't see why you'd ever drive any vehicle other than the ones the characters own
  15. I have the Halo 3 LE and yeah luckily my disc never got scratched but it's always coming loose every time I pick the damn thing up.
  16. It took me about 40 hours. I waited 15-20 minutes before skipping the credits, cause normally I'm paranoid about it too.
  17. It may be due to space, because I'm with TN in not knowing anyone with a gaming PC in the living room. Our house isn't big but I do have an "office" that's basically dedicated to my PC. We have an HTPC out in the living room also (we too have cut the cable), but it wouldn't be suitable for anything more intense than streaming content from the one in my office or really low-requirement games. Most people I know under like 30 are cutting the cable actually, but they tend to use PS3's or 360's to stream, not a PC. *Edit* - In fact now that I think about it I'm the only person I know with any kind of PC in the living room (other than laptops, which everyone and their grandma has).
  18. The heists alone in GTAV are worth it. The first and last heists are two of the greatest things I've ever done in a game. And yeah, I liked SR3 a hell of a lot, and SR4 should be arriving at my house today (yay!), but those games are so far divorced from reality that they don't scratch the same itch as GTA does.
  19. I beat the game at 70%. Also, Strangelove, I skipped the credits and had no obvious negative consequences.
  20. I don't mind metal cases, but hate Steelbook brand cases. The spindles don't let the disc go easily enough, so I always feel like I'm going to snap the disc in half when I'm getting it out. IIRC somebody on this forum (hottie?) broke one of their ME3 discs that way.
  21. GTA V. I liked it a lot. One thing I thought it lacked though was a sense of moving up in the (criminal under-) world that previous GTA's have had.
  22. @Dean: Yeah, I was always getting those two games confused too.
  23. Driver software checks for its own updates now, just like everything else.
  24. I know that's super vague, I wish I could articulate better but it's been 10 years. The map definitely is not what I'm talking about though. I guess more than anything it just seemed the vibe just seemed more "fun" to me (and I don't mean the gameplay). GTA 3 and especially 4 are so dreary (though I loved them), and San Andreas and V have their own thing, but Vice City has that frivolous fun aspect to the culture and everything that isn't in the other games. I understand that part of how they accomplished that was through the 80's setting, but I feel that there are other ways you could get that same kind of "fun" feel in a tropical city without having to have it set in the 80's.
