Those problems might have been Darksiders itself. Apparently the PC version's controller support was fucked up. I have a real 360 pad, which it's supposedly made to work with, but it wouldn't recognize any of the buttons except start (the pad works with every other game I've tried). I had to get a user-made patch that makes it recognize the 360 pad as a generic pad, and then uses that "generic" pad to emulate a 360 pad. Fucking ridiculous.

There was an internal Microsoft memo sent by the legal team that said the company was threatened with legal action over the name. That almost certainly means trademark. The only speculation is that Metro AG was the one upset about it.

They made a fighting game as a direct sequel to an RPG?

Well and like Dean said, anyone winning medals more than likely would have qualified in any case, whether or not they were actually made to do so.

I think we're getting three different conversations crossed: One about how 360 will get DLC 30 days before PC/PS3. Another about how different retailers will have DLC exclusive to that retailer, regardless of platform. The third about a specific platform will sometimes have exclusive DLC even in an otherwise multi-platform game. All of them piss me off, though I can live with the first one because at least it comes out eventually. The other two don't bother me all that much as long as it's basically just cosmetic stuff or items that have very little effect on the game (like a different weapon with a bonus against a certain enemy, or whatever), but really piss me off when it's actual missions/levels/whatever, even if they're crappy. The second two are also the ones at issue with AC3 specifically. *Edit* - The retailer-specific ones piss me off more than they might others partially because Amazon is really the only viable retailer I have for pre-ordering games and actually getting them on release day because of my location, and they tend to have the crappiest bonuses.

I think the host gets to bypass qualification to get to compete, but that when they do tournament-style progressive elimination the host nation doesn't get a free pass into the final.

But "Coca-Cola" is just a brand name and nothing else, whereas "Metro" is just a word that means "city". You couldn't make a "Coca-Cola" brand car without getting into trouble, but you could easily make a "Cola" brand car. If they had named the interface "Metro AG" then yeah, but I don't think Metro alone is or should be enough.

Exclusive games don't bother me, exclusive content for multiplatform games does. Why does 30 day console-exclusive DLC bother you more than forever-exclusive console DLC?

Yeah, but for me the fact that they're crappy is neither here nor there, it's that they're withholding content that is more than just cosmetic (like skins) or which has a very negligible effect on the game (like a special armor or weapon), they're withholding actual segments of the game.

Oh yeah, I don't think he should be fired, especially since a lot of people don't realize it's racist (they think that it refers to how the white people kept giving shit to the Indians and then taking it back later), but it was a stupid thing to say and he should be made aware of that.

Were it between the two consoles I'd get the PS3 version as well, but I'm getting the PC version (assuming it's not delayed by more than a few weeks). It's hard being part of the master race.

The reason this one more than the various retail editions is that those DLCs (AFAIK) are things like a special set of armor or weapon or MP skin, not actual game content that I care about. ... Although now that I look, I see that pretty much every retailer but Amazon has an exclusive mission. That's bullshit.

You really should invest in a 360 pad, it's totally worth it.
