  1. I agree P4, if used properly it's just a good simulation that not everything always goes right.
  2. Google? Failing that, reset the router to factory settings. If that doesn't work then I guess get a new router?
  3. "Wherein we argue forever."
  4. I've noticed with several puzzle games I've played recently that the puzzles never really get complicated enough, even at the end of the game. I tried playing Quantum Conundrum's Desmond Debacle DLC this weekend and couldn't do it. The puzzles weren't hard to figure out, but they were a complete pain in the ass to execute, so I'd spend 20 minutes on each one knowing what to do the entire time but having to try over and over and over again and that is not why I play puzzle games.
  5. That awkward feeling when your Risk army 50 strong loses to one guy... My brother-in-law refuses to play any game with dice-based mechanics for that reason.
  6. I liked it until it devolved into just a bunch of pop stars. @Dean: I always thought Imagine would have worked quite well, I just didn't think it made any sense to say Paul McCartney should have been the one to sing it.
  7. I don't have any idea what you're talking about...
  8. Wow, missing the point entirely... The point is that there's different shit at each retailer, meaning there's no way to get the entire game without either buying it 15 times or pirating it. And that practice pisses me off. Yeah, but an argument could be made that you do, in fact, get an entire game regardless of where you pre-order. And the different shit each retailer offers is merely extraneous crap that adds little to nothing to the experience. And don't get me wrong, I agree that this practice needs to die. But I really don't buy into the notion that not getting a special piece of armor, weapon or even a self-contained mission makes the base game incomplete in any way whatsoever. They're not "missing pieces" of the cake, they're more like shit flakes sprinkled on top. Right. Again, it's the principle that pisses me off; the fact that they're fragmenting the game. And as I've said a couple of times, it's not the bits of armor or weapons that really bothers me, it's when they do entire quest chains like this.
  9. Yeah, this. With a console you can just do it and see if you like it, but with a computer it's a ton of work and expense and you might hate it.
  10. The only weird thing was that they had Zuko as Gideon instead of Ozai.
  11. I've been having trouble deciding what to play all weekend for this exact reason. Tried Touch My Katamari but got stuck on a level, eventually settled on Tropico 4 since even though the games take a while since it's not really a traditional "campaign" I don't feel guilty if I stop playing it when Darksiders 2 comes out.

  13. Not within anything approaching convenient distance. My options are basically Amazon and Walmart, and since my Walmart doesn't stock almost any PC games that leaves me with Amazon. If I wanted to make a 6-hour round trip to Kansas City I might be able to find one I guess...
  14. I'm not talking about special edition bonuses, I'm talking about retailer-exclusive DLCs that come with the base game.
  15. I mean it's worth paying some amount for, even if it means waiting for it to be 90% off. I didn't mean it's worth paying full price for. @FDS: Demoing is the only thing I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm not going to say that's the only thing I would consider fair use. Actually, while writing that I thought of another one I'm okay with: pirating a game that is not available in your territory, and will not be for the foreseeable future. Basically I'm only against pirating things that developers/publishers are actually willing to sell to you.
  16. That's what I'd do if I actually cared about having the DLC, but I don't, because like people said it's almost always crap. It's just the fact that they do it that pisses me off, and if I buy the game I'm supporting the practice, even if I then pirate the other stuff.
  17. I haven't seen any Bourne films after the second one. The camera work was so psychotically shaky that I couldn't tell what was happening in any of the action scenes, which made it boring to watch. I understand that they were trying to convey the confusion of actually being in a fight, but if it makes the movie unpleasant to watch then I'm not going to watch it.
  18. Blizzard's finally admitted that a majority of people prefer to play Diablo solo! However, their "solution" is not to make the game playable offline, but to try to make coop more attractive. Missing the point much? From RPS. Also, as someone pointed out in the comments, it's ironic that the only reason they have this data is because they forced everyone online.
  19. Moral right. I probably shouldn't have used "fair use" because it is a legal term, but really I meant the words in their plain meaning: use that is fair.
  20. I don't really know what a scone is, but it makes me think of this awesome line: .
  21. Who said anything about legality?
  22. So if you don't want to support the publisher at all then just don't get the game at all. You have no right to have it and unlike the demo context there's not even an argument that it's fair use.
  23. From here. Should we take this to the piracy thread? Because the big issue I see here is publishers vs. developers. I can like a developer, but abhor who they work for. Then don't play the game. Or wait until it's cheap enough that you're willing to give them that token amount of support.
  24. PC version delayed to November 20 in US, 23 in Europe. Never saw that coming... I wish I didn't like this series so much.
  25. The design is similar to the Gamecube cases, but like TCP said the colors are just terrible.
