  1. This is above and beyond most ads though in terms of being super pretentious.
  2. I've only watched the first 25 seconds so far but oh my god it's so FULL of itself.
  3. idk, but there's way too much antialiasing for those to be 360 shots.
  4. Sure, that studio may be gone, but the people who worked there do not just vanish into thin air. Most of them will get hired by other developers. But it was the team that made the game, and the "team" is gone (unless they do the thing where a bunch of them all go off to form a new studio).
  5. The resolution could just be an artifact of the news sites' images, not necessarily the resolution it was actually rendered at, and shadows and textures could just be the result of the game being limited by the consoles and the PC port not being appropriately beefed up (because that's never happened before...)
  6. I don't really understand your point, the same can be said of any media: it doesn't matter how "good" it is, it only matters how many people buy it.
  7. I remember when like 90% of the porn available was only in RealMedia formats... *shudder*
  8. No, there's way too much antialiasing for that to be running on 360. What do you see that screams 360 at you?

I actually subscribe to the viewpoint that it's a form of sex discrimination and therefore already illegal: you're firing men for being attracted to/having sex with men, you're not firing women for being attracted to/having sex with men, therefore you're firing the men because they're men, therefore you're discriminating based on their sex. It applies for bisexuals too, and the reverse applies for lesbians. A similar argument works for transgendered people: you're firing them for identifying as a woman, but if they were a biological woman you wouldn't be firing them, etc. So far courts haven't really gone with that theory though.
  10. Must... resist... urge to view... at work...
  11. No, it's just that PC has come to mean "IBM-compatible PC".
  12. I'm sure some people who could buy the games pirate instead, but you're also perpetuating the myth that piracy doesn't happen on consoles. I don't know anything about actual numbers, but I do know that pirate copies of console games are often up on torrent sites days or weeks before release, while PC games usually take a few days or weeks after release before a working cracked version is up.
  13. Like RPS said, these were clearly captured from a computer that could only be owned by God.
  14. Alright, it's been a week, as long as we don't go back to the previous... discussion... I think we can reopen this topic. Ubisoft says that they have a 93-95% piracy rate on PC. So they have no choice but to go F2P.
  15. Make a third account and have both accounts forward to that one? Or just have one of the accounts forward to the other? I know that's not quite what you're wanting to do, but it would kind of accomplish it.

Wait... what? I thought this sort of workplace discrimination wasn't allowed? I think it is in California, and probably a couple other states, but I'm pretty sure it's not banned federally or in most states. Federal law protects you from discrimination based on race, religion, sex, national origin, and to some extent age, but not sexual orientation/gender identity. *Edit* - I should say, I know that was the state of federal law a year and a half ago, I'm just not 100% sure that it's still the case because it's possible they've changed it since then.
  17. Changing the model is a good thing. It doesn't make any sense why if I build a computer for my cousin and he pays me for it I'm allowed to use the OEM version, but if I build the exact same one for myself I'm suddenly supposed to use the retail one.

Wow, that Ronald guy sounds like a complete and utter asshole. Sucks about the guy who got outed by the manager, but I think the article's wrong: AFAIK asking if you're gay is perfectly legal in most US states, and it's perfectly okay to fire someone for being gay.
  19. Ah okay, I understand now. I've never had to jump through hoops to get an OEM version though, I've just bought them from the same online stores I buy my computer parts. I just went to Amazon and checked and if you search for "Windows 7" the first result is the OEM one, so it's not like they're hard to find.
  20. I honestly don't understand the question. Why shouldn't people buy the cheaper version? Why should I care which version Microsoft says I'm "supposed" to buy as long as I'm buying one and I'm not using it in a business?
  21. Pro-life from conception to birth.
  22. Because it costs less? I always bought OEM copies. I didn't even realize that I wasn't supposed to until just now.
