Battle mage Jesus has always hated the Empire, ever since he was a small boy and his father was executed for a crime he didn't commit. His mother kind of fell apart after that, and basically stopped doing anything; she'd just sit in her chair and stare into space, barely eating or sleeping. His two older sisters were forced into prostitution to support the family and pay his father's debts. Most of their johns were Imperial soldiers, which didn't help Jesus' view of the Empire. When he was 12 Jesus ran away, unable to deal with the situation that had developed in his home. He lived in the wilderness for a time, killing small game for food and sleeping in trees to avoid the nastier creatures. Occasionally he'd encounter travelers, sometimes trading with them, other times stealing supplies from their camps at night. When he was 14 Jesus killed his first Imperial soldier. It was a courier, travelling alone. He didn't know if something had happened to the courier's companions or if he was just stupid enough to travel alone through the wilds, but when Jesus approached the courier's camp, thinking to steal some supplies from unwary travelers, and saw that it was an Imperial soldier he was overcome with rage and cut the courier's throat as he slept. It felt good. Jesus began to seek out Imperial soldiers, killing them when they wandered too far from their friends. Eventually he became bold, and would attack small bands of 3 or 4 in the night, sneaking up on the one standing guard and then killing the rest as they slept. It was not long before the Empire grew aware of what was happening though, that these killings were related, and sent a company to the woods where Jesus had been living to find and capture him. Jesus fled north to evade his pursuers. Eventually he fell in with a group of bandits, but he didn't like the level of barbarity he found among them. Jesus would steal what he needed if necessary, though he preferred to trade, and though he killed every Imperial soldier he came across he did not hate the common people of the Empire and did not like killing them. After a time he left the bandits and set off on his own again, slowly drifting his way north, though his direction was not purposeful. As was bound to happen eventually, at the age of 22, shortly after he entered Skyrim, Jesus' hatred of the Empire got the better of him and he was captured by Imperial soldiers as he tried to kill all in their camp. Jesus was set for execution, but fate intervened and a dragon attacked the fortress before his sentence could be carried out. He fled, aided by the Stormcloaks, a group of Nords rebelling against the Empire. In his second encounter with a dragon Jesus did not flee, but slew the dragon, and then something strange happened: Jesus absorbed the dragon's soul. Informed by the Nords that this meant he was the Dragonborn, Jesus set off to speak to the Greybeards to learn what this meant. However, Jesus was reluctant to embrace his role as a great hero, or to get too involved with the Stormcloaks. Instead Jesus continued to wander for many months, slaying dragons and Imperial soldiers wherever he found them, and adventuring with no specific path in mind. Now, however, Jesus is beginning to come to terms with his role as the Dragonborn, and wants do to more to fight the Empire than murder individual soldiers unfortunate enough to cross his path. Jesus is now going to embrace the dragon blood, and when he has mastered that power he is going to use it to aid the Stormcloaks in their quest for independence from the Empire.

Even the harrier has wings. That kind of system is fine for take-off and landing, but it doesn't work well for sustained flight and (more importantly for a movie) looks unnatural/unrealistic. That said though, we've seen little of it, and depending on how they do it it could still work. For instance, if it's like this kind of thing: where the entire turbine assembly rotates, allowing vertical thrust for sustained flight, then I think it could work.

Yeah, the helicopter-like part was really the more important part. It just doesn't look like a plane, v-tol or otherwise.

Mine's an Android so I don't know what the derogatory name is for that. Also, I have never heard "iTampon" before, and I'm not sure I get it. I mean "Crackberry" sure, it's a play on words and the addictiveness of "smart" devices, but "iTampon"...?

I think that Bat-Wing design would have worked a lot better for some v-tol helicopter-type craft. Like this kind of thing:

That's actually why I used it. I didn't know if the products other people bought (especially across the pond) would be just exactly the same as what I get, and therefore whether the cooking instructions would be the same. I figured everyone can just cook it according to whatever package they get.

So, 60 hours into the game and I think I'm finally ready to seriously tackle the main quest... though I'm still a little unsure whether I was to do the Stormcloak quest chain first.

I didn't especially like or dislike that boss. Though in general I prefer to deal with larger numbers of normal enemies rather than one super powerful one. Course I love Shadow of the Colossus so that's not true 100% of the time.

That and I don't like cheating (not saying it's like inherently wrong, I just don't like to do it myself).

Halo 2's bosses were goddamned terrible. Not even that they were hard, just that they really disrupted. The flow of the game.

I like this recipe cause it's crazy versatile, you can easily change it for your taste and it's really scalable. It also has a whole protein without any meat in it. And I don't know how much dried rice and beans cost there, but they're so cheap here they're practically free (it's like $0.10 per serving). Down side is that dried beans take quite a while to cook so you have to plan ahead. Beans and rice: 2 parts dried white rice, cook following the instructions on the package. 2 parts dried black or pinto beans, cook following the instructions on the package. 1 part cooked vegetables (we usually buy frozen corn and use that, but you can use whatever you want). Cook the beans, rice, and vegetables. Mix them together. Store in refrigerator To serve: Scoop desired amount of rice & bean mixture into a bowl, add salsa to taste (if you have access to it I recommend Old El Paso brand), crushed corn or tortilla chips (crisps?), and shredded cheddar cheese to taste. If desired you can microwave it to melt the cheese, though I usually only do that if the rice & bean mix has been in the refrigerator. After it's warmed up mix all the ingredients together and eat with a spoon (I prefer to heat before mixing because the cheese on top melts and traps the moisture so the rice doesn't dry out in the microwave).

Yeah, they can die even without the player killing them. When they bow to recover NPCs will not continue to attack them, but they can still be damaged by AOEs. I've seen Lydia get killed by the shouts of Draugr Scourges and Deathlords.

I agree that adding gay characters for the sake of adding gay characters is bad, because you end up with token characters that don't actually mean anything. But I do think it's sad that the industry is still at a point where even the idea of having gay characters at all is controversial. That's all I'm really going to say, because I think everyone else has pretty much covered it. Though I would like to add that Master Chief is straight. He's got a romance going on with Cortana. And if you think I'm making stuff up go replay Halo 3 and imagine that everything's the same except Cortana is a masculine AI and tell me that wouldn't have super gay overtones.

Doesn't using the console disable Steam achievements?

@FDS: Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous that dancing makes you invincible, but not nearly as ridiculous as the idea of them banning you for using that to survive battle. Games sometimes have pretty ridiculous bugs, that's to be expected, but ridiculous CS reactions to it are not.

I didn't think it was jarring, but I did think it was weird how central to the plot yet poorly fleshed out the whole thing was.

Oh yeah, as soon as I noticed it was being flaky I copied everything on it to the 2 TB drive I already have (it's not what I consider "important" data so I don't keep it continually backed up), but that left me uncomfortably low on disc space to work with.

Yeah, I would have continued to wait, but I've got a 500 GB drive that's on the verge of dying, could go at any second.

There was like one word I didn't know, and a couple of the place names, but other than that I think I did it right. There was also one point where something rhymed if you used the British pronunciation, but not if you used the American one. Can't remember where it was though.

I won't allow Lydia to die. She has a few times, but I always reload the save. Every time I'm wandering through the wilderness and turn around and she's not there I panic and think maybe she died somewhere, so I have to fast-travel to see if she shows up. I have no idea why I'm so attached to Lydia.

True dat. I got 50 hours in before figuring out how to use the favorites menu. The game always said "press F to favorite" at the bottom of the screen, but F did nothing. That's because I'd rebound the key to switch your view from F to P (because why would I use that when I have a mouse wheel?), which apparently also rebinds the favorite button. Would be nice if the interface had acknowledged that change...

Get this mod Dean linked to earlier. Using the 1-9 keys is handy, but AFAIK there's no way to control which hand the quick button goes to. This mod makes getting through your favorites menu MUCH faster and more convenient.
