  1. $9 used on Glyde. My comment in the Assassin's Creed thread proved prophetic.
  2. And I can understand the viewpoint that you'd rather they just upres the game and sell it cheaper rather than putting extra content into it and charging more (Halo Anniversary is $40, so 2/3 the cost of a new game), however there is some stuff that actually adds value to Halo Anniversary, at least to me, over the original: namely XBL coop. Now I'll be able to play Halo 1 coop with my friends from high school and college without one of us having to road trip over to the other's city. Alright, I really am starting to get too defensive/fanboyish toward Halo, so after this comment I'm dropping out of this conversation.
  3. Yeah, the response to AC1 was very mixed. I myself tried to play it once, played for a couple hours and quit because I didn't like it at all, then about a year later picked it back up and absolutely loved it.
  4. When I tried PCSX2 last winter with SotC it lagged constantly no matter what I did. Lagged the exact same amount whether I tried to play it at 640x480 with all the fancies turned off, or 1920x1080 with everything turned on.
  5. Not to sound like a Halo fanboy (which I am), but if they're going to be making HD versions Halo Anniversary is the way to do it: rather than just upping the resolution and turning on AA/texture filtering, they actually built a whole new graphics engine, with new textures and models and audio for everything (except the VA). That's how it should be done.
  6. Wow, I really slacked over the summer. The only game I have to add is From Dust.
  7. Ubi said it won't. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/19/day-one-copies-of-assassins-creed-revelations-on-ps3-to-includ/
  8. We need an android app.

For the forum? There's one in beta. It's a bit buggy tbh.

What's wrong with the mobile site?

  9. Woo, so that's me, Duke, and Metal. One more and we could round out our group! Thought, you guys might want to make sure you have open nats, or at least not strict nats, before we play so we don't run in to connection problems.
  10. I played AC1 and 2 on 360, then moved over to PS3 for Brotherhood and now Revelations. The fact that they're giving me AC1 with Revelations now makes me feel like I should get AC2 on PS3 to round out my collection.... Stupid (fake) OCD. *Edit* @Dean: AC1 is included with all the discs in the first production run. So it's not just preorders, but it also won't be there forever.
  11. Yeah, after reading the articles I agree that RPS takes it apart pretty well. Of course if you spend lots of time doing a thing or certain kinds of things in a game, then your brain is going to think of it when you're presented with a vaguely similar situation in real life, that doesn't mean you don't know that it's not a game, or that you're going to actually perform the action. Playing Assassin's Creed trains my brain to look at buildings to find ways to climb them and get around more vertically, and so my brain continues to do that when looking at real buildings. That doesn't mean I think I'm actually capable of climbing them like Ezio or Altair. The most ridiculous example from the article was the kid who said he wanted a gravity gun to get stuff from the fridge. When I was moving I said I wished I had a portal gun so I could put one portal in my old place and one in my new and not have to carry my shit out to the truck and back in 100+ degree weather, but that doesn't mean I didn't know portal guns are imaginary.
  12. So true. To this day I still plan Lemmings routes on any 2D collection of objects (pictures on a wall, papers on a desk, etc).
  13. Man, and I thought I was a sucker for the few games I've bought on 360 and then bought again on PC.
  14. High paying compared to my expenses, yes.
  15. Stupid Steam sales... Also preordered these a week or so ago:
  16. I should say I'm with Yante: I'm okay with unlocking "different" weapons/etc for multiplayer, just not "better" ones.
  17. I have friends, just no friends with XBL gold, and having just graduated all my good friends live in different towns now.
  18. Alright, now that I've read the whole thread, I'm going to say that I'm somewhere in the middle. I like my stat-whore games where I micro-manage every aspect of the character and equipment, always comparing numbers to see whether I should buy this new sword or stick with my old one, but not every game should be like that. That kind of system only works for more traditional RPGs that tend to be slower-paced anyway. For action/adventure games I prefer the Zelda-style of upgrades, where for the most part you get specific things in specific locations that really change your abilities (like the hookshot), but then there are other more minor upgrades hidden around the world (like the pieces of heart). Then there's another category of games that I don't think needs anything like that. I hate the gameplay changing unlocks of games like MW2. If I'm playing a competitive game like that I don't want to be unable to win simply because I haven't played as much as that other guy, so he has better equipment. In that arena if the dev really really wants to have unlocks I think Bungie did it right for Halo: Reach, where you can customize your character but it's all aesthetic, nothing that makes you more powerful than anyone else.
  19. Honestly, I prefer the numbers to be visible, I like to know exactly what's going on. For instance, though admittedly Mass Effect's inventory system was completely broken and terrible, it was possible to decide which weapons and armor to use because you could compare their various stats, as opposed to Mass Effect 2 in which all you had to go on were super vague verbal descriptions that made it impossible to tell whether gun A was better or worse than gun B.
  20. I need someone(s) to play Halo Reach coop with to get the last few levels done (I've done single but not coop). Thread in Event Planning. Help me!

Right now the new xbox hard drive is 85.00 for 250 gigbyte hard drive, and a 199 console makes it cheaper to do that than to buy the hard drive one, does it not have wireless on the basic model?

AFAIK the only difference between the 4GB and 250GB slims is the HDD, but I'm not 100%

  21. I'm confused as to how these fake delays are supposed to combat piracy.
  22. Hey, I'm looking for some peeps to help me finish out the Reach campaign on Legendary. Already did it solo legendary, but not coop, and the incomplete icon on my service record is bugging the hell out of me. So who's in? I still need to beat the following levels: Exodus New Alexandria The Package The Pillar of Autumn My timezone is GMT -6. Most days I can't play until after 1700 my time (2300 GMT), and tonight I won't be able to play until after 1900 (0100 GMT) if at all. Friday I'm available a few hours earlier, and Saturday and Sunday I'm available all day. I'll also be willing to play through other levels if people have more that they need to finish in coop too.
