Damnit, it lets me sign up with a US address, but their age verification system only works for people in the UK, so I can't get the games I want cause it can't verify I'm over 18.

But I believe his point is that Gamestop sells used copies of new releases for $55.

I agree that not every dollar spent on used games is a dollar they could have made on a new sale, but they are losing some amount of revenue out to used games. It's just impossible to know how much. Just like with piracy.

Yeah, it is a problem for the publishers/developers in terms of how much money they're making. Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's not a "problem" from their point of view.

It might come down to just how good you are at reading people. I've gotten a whole hell of a lot better at it since I posted that, but I still wouldn't call them easy. Some witnesses are easy to read, others aren't, but I think that's probably realistic.

Just various little things in games, like in LA Noire it gives you an option in your notebook to spend intuition points doing an "ask the audience" type thing during questioning, tells you what responses other Social Club members picked. I'm sure it does other things. As for sharing IDs, I dunno, I just saw that it said I have 0 friends and I wanted friends.

Yeah, if you're gonna say "works fine for me" you need to throw in a "let's try and figure out what's different about our systems, here are my tech specs"

Yeah, and I think it wouldn't be quite so big a deal if the past would stay in the past, but there are still plenty of racist people around, and the noose is still used as a symbol (like hanging a noose from a tree in a black family's yard).

I prefer the hanged man too, but I understand why the US's special history might make them avoid that here.

Oh yeah, I know I couldn't sign up now and still get the bonus stuff, but sometimes there's stuff on the Japanese PSN that's not available elsewhere. I have a Euro one for the same reason.

lol, nope. The US went off the gold standard in 1971. Since then the dollar has been a free-floating currency. It's not pegged to anything.
