I'm confused where they think you might be that you'll be able to set up your PS4 (or whatever other device) but not have a screen to connect it to...
-
I guess it's time to make this topic. Sony released its first info about PS5. Not much is known, but they're confirming it will be backward compatible with PS4. Hopefully that includes a boost mode to run games smoother. Beyond that we know it will have a custom AMD Ryzen CPU and custom Radeon Navi GPU, with raytracing support, and an SSD. Also it's not coming until at least 2020 (no real surprise there). The article does talk about how they're going to be devoting more hardware power to audio processing, to create more realistic audio in 3D, so that could be interesting, but doesn't really seem like a game-changer.

Third person action game is quite the change for Respawn, but I am cautiously optimistic.

If it's a force ghost then that's cool, but if they somehow retcon him straight up surviving then that's stupid. Also, The Rise of Skywalker is a dumb name.

Games You've Bought: Super Turbo 2019 Edition

I second this, especially with the earlier ones. It becomes less of a problem later on (I didn't really think it was much of a problem in 4 at all), but in the first ones there are some really massive, stupid difficulty spikes. -
Once is never, twice is always. By setting a hard line ("No extensions past April 12 unless the UK presents a credible plan for going forward") and then breaking it when the UK didn't meet the condition, they've established a precedent that their requirements are not to be taken seriously.

I just stumbled across the fact that Battlefront II has a singleplayer campaign, and it happens to be on sale on Origin right now for $4.49, so guess what I'm playing this weekend! -
@TheFlyingGerbil The resolution on the screen isn't good enough for anything serious like what you're describing, it's just good for Labo-type gimmicky little silly games.

Ghost of Tsushima is this year? I assumed it was at least a couple years out.

I've already got TheMightyEthan, so no need for me to change. It is very nice having the same ID everywhere.

The problem is the EU is creating for itself is it keeps saying "no extensions past X date without a realistic plan for going forward", then the UK continues to shit itself, and they give it another extension anyway. So now the EU deadlines are meaningless.

According to Eurogamer, it's not without caveats though: Sounds like any game that came out after April 1, 2018 should be fine though.

I think this game would have been better handled as actually 8 games with the same engine/world, or 8 separate episodes, and let you play through one entire story before starting the next.

Octopath Traveler I want to like it so much, but goddamn it has terrible pacing. I've been playing for 6 hours and I've only done 4 1/2 of the intros, and so far there's been absolutely no crossover between them, so I feel like I've played the beginnings of 4 different but similar games. It really kills my motivation to keep going. I've noticed the second chapter of a couple characters' stories appear on the map and I just want to know, do they ever start to interact or is just going to feel like I'm playing 8 games at the same time the whole way through? *Edit - I just looked into it a little more and I think I'll be selling this one. I'm already struggling to stay interested 6 hours in and it's a 75 hour game, so thanks but no thanks...

As long as it doesn't crash on launch because my TV is capable of HDR even though I've disabled HDR it will be a step up from Nier: Automata.

They're making standalone films now?

Why has modern technology preserved the stupidest aspects of the physical world?

Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps Really excellent DLC, between the 3 episodes it makes one overarching story that continues well from the main game. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who liked the base game.

That to me is the real issue though, not the automation. I get what you're saying about people being stuck in shittier jobs*, but on the flip side people have been complaining about automation taking their jobs since the invention of the steam engine. The real problem is with a society that believes that the people need to work in order to justify being allowed to live. By all rights the fact that machines are replacing the need for human labor should be a good thing, because then humans don't need to labor! *Hence why unemployment has been at record lows for about a year but wage growth has barely kept up with inflation. I am aware that this stance does not mesh well with my above comment. My first comment was just my general irritation at people complaining about automation stealing jobs showing through.
-
I don't know if I'd say it's the best one, but it's definitely up there.
-
That's so bizarre, Amazon and Nintendo usually hate each other.
-
Tangential to that: everyone is always losing their shit about automation taking people's jobs, but obviously automation is higher now than ever before and US unemployment is also the lowest it's been since they started keeping records.

Oh man, that looks like something I would have absolutely loved on my Genesis. -

Right now Brexit is a trainwreck I can't look away from.
