    Pets!

Seems like I might be getting a puppy. If I got through with it, I'm guessing the initial costs are: 1) Spay/neuter 2) Vaccinations 3) Microchip 4) License (seriously?) 5) Food 6) Kennel/crate 7) Other stuff that I'm forgetting Pet owners, help me out?
  2. I'm kind of missing the large power draws and inefficient power consumption... I know for a fact that my tower used to be able to heat my room. Now it can't. I used to open my window on nights like this to cool down my room.
  3. How do you guys feel about HDR?

And by that I mean I have no opinion I haven't seen it in person yet. All I know is I bought a new TV two years ago, so it'll be a few more years before I take the plunge into 4K or HDR.

^That's where I am. I bought a new 4k TV 1.5 years ago because my old one broke, I'm not about to replace it for HDR.

My next TV will be 4K HDR (and hopefully OLED though that's less likely) but I won't upgrade just to get them.

  4. Surprised you guys are not on this. I honestly only played Mass Effect 1 and a tiny bit of 2 (I just remembered that I have it). I liked what I've played but god, does the initial outcry for 3 turned me off. Hopefully the path that Andromeda takes us on will be worth it (i.e., Bioware doesn't have to go back and fix things).
  5. Not new but... Desktop laser cutter/engraver to go with the 3D printer. At $3k-6k they are expensive but as with 3D printers, they should go down in costs in the coming years. Being a maker in 2020's and beyond is going to be awesome. 3D printing and laser cutting and engraving is not just for large factories anymore.
  6. The competition for The Game Awards' awards is actually really fierce this year. A lot of categories was packed with good games.

  7. Indeed. Amazon Japan has an English interface option where you can change the price to USD. You can tell which items can be shipped over as well. It's almost like using the regular Amazon store... I know that I'm really helping you to resist.
  8. And saw some short gameplay. I didn't realized that Link now have expendable swords and spears that can break. You can easily pick up more but it's almost lootshooter like. And breakable weapons. Inventory management might be a thing now for a Zelda game? Ugh. Neat looking game however.
  9. Yeah, Del Toro isn't in the credits so you have to wonder what he is doing. Maybe it's hinting at a movie/TV show down the line? Kojima at this point should have connections to Hollywood and he's a film nerd. He's really into Hannibal who is played by Mads. Imagine if it's something on Netflix and their equivalent services elsewhere. Kojima does the game. Del Toro does the film. Mads and Norman can seamlessly move between the two. Of course Del Toro could just be an advisor...
  10. Del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen are on board. The setting and mood of the game is pretty great. The enemies seem to be controlled by worm parasites. It can animate inanimate objects like broken down planes, tanks and even bodies even if they're mostly bones. Once the TGA trailer is up I'll link it. Cleaner version.
  11. It came out a week or so ago and I manage to grab a copy from Amazon Japan right now. It was out everywhere else. FLCL is quite dear to my heart...
  12. Action-Oriented, Proficient, Relaxed, Grounded, and Practical Explosions are relaxing. I like to get straight to the point but when I do experiment like when I get bored of my gameplay loop, I experiment.
  13. Steam ID/Wishlist/Country: Steam GOG General criteria: Single player is preferred. What are your favorite genres? Action, shooters, RPG and dumbfun. What are your favorite games? Ys games, TitS, SotC, Wolfenstein TNO, Mount and Blade: Warband, Disgaea, Valkyria Chronicles, Dynasty Warriors (3, 4, 8)... DOOM. Are you looking for any non-Steam gifts? Still expanding the GOG library. If you see something on my Steam wishlist on GOG then you can get it on GOG instead. Will you take games not on your wishlist? Of course. Any other information you think relevant? Open world in the Ubisoft/MGSV sense is a no go for me.
  14. A look at the game through the years. When you think about it, a lot of the time was spent retooling the game from the PS3 to the current gen consoles and their refreshes. No small feat considering the unique PS3 hardware. Besides the hardware limitations on graphical/performance, the only problem I'm seeing is the frame timing issues on the PS4 versions (See DF's PS4, PS4 Pro and Xbone performance reports; Scorpio whenever it comes out). I believe I've read/heard that a 60 fps version is in the works. Once that drops I think a PC version won't be far behind. Hoping for a hint at E3 since I want to play.
  15. Going back to the distraction thing.
  16. I still have my copy but since it is an update to build a foundation for future updates, I'll wait for further updates to jump back in. The changes are for sure great but it's coming from one of the deepest pits so that's not saying much. As for the ASA ruling, you said all that needs to be said. Hello Games should get a legal smack in the face but since it is just based on the Steam page: eh.
  17. While wondering how Noctis is as a main character, I think back to Tidus and his laugh. God damn it internet. I got to run this mod with some fucked up visuals and filters. At least his English VA is a cool dude. AH HA HA HA HA HA HA
  18. I never said it would distract people who really are evaluating/critical of Trump. It's for his base and people who don't like him who don't know the meaning of picking your battles.
  19. For such a small case, I would worry about overheating but damn if that form factor isn't sweet. You can carry it with one hand! Edit: I have a 850W PSU. At this point I'm totally over multi-GPU setups since it's so poorly supported so all that power is kind of moot. I'm not sure how much power I'm using but it should be rather small compared to it's full potential.
  20. Stardew Valley console version will release in mid December. PS4 and Xbone. Wii U version (RIP) is cancelled but development is moving to the Switch. Not word on handhelds. I also believe controller support on PC will improve as well.
  21. At this point, when he's only President-elect, I think Trump is just stirring shit up to distract from the very real issues he has (e.g., tons of points of conflict of interests, not fulfilling promises like draining the swamp). He's just going to get louder and more erratic.

    Your Rig

This is about three months old now. 980TI is from last year for MGSV (the most love/hate game of all time). Mobo: ASUS Z170-P CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo RAM: 4 x 4GB GeIL EVO POTENZA DRR4 2400 GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 980TI GAMING 6G LE This should last me a long while. Everything but the GPU should last me probably four years before I even think about upgrading them (very similar to my previous build). Next in line is a 1440p, 144 hz, G-Sync monitor.
  23. The Tale of the Princess Kaguya Absolutely pretty film with a great score. Simple yet very effective facial expressions. It really surprised me how well they done that. EDIT: I also got to mention the running scene. You want to display emotion through simple moving lines and shapes? That is how you do it. I'm just not sure if Sutemaru (the peasant boy), as presented, needed to be there. That storyline would've worked better if he didn't have a family or if his part was spread out to all of Kaguya's childhood friends. Yes, he's her love but it's presented in such an odd way. Perhaps this storyline would fit better in the eyes of feudal/ancient Japan. The rest of the story, however, is solid. It is one of the oldest Japanese folktales. Anyhow, best supporting character right here:
  24. Some people are saying the villain rivals the best that FF offers. Let's say that I am intrigued. As for the game itself, it seems to be doing really good considering the development hell it went through. It'll be interesting to see how it is viewed after its honeymoon period.
