  1. I've given up attempting to follow what the hell is going on/has gone on the last week. I feel with relation to the vote last week this seems to be the current plan: http://i.imgur.com/dhwPLtv.gifv Got shadow cabinet collapsing, bunch of knobheads wanting to be PM, meanwhile pound is fucked, banks are fucked, everything is fucked and no one seems to be doing much about it.
  2. I dunno, we've not seen any Targaryeans in the army yet.
  3. I imagine cos Audible give away one free audiobook with a new account. Fake email means free audiobooks I guess, but at that point you may as well pirate them for the same result n half the effort.
  4. It sorta comes into the whole region of: - Why doesn't Daenyrsseus not burn when in fire? - How come that guy came back from the dead after having his shoulder hacked in half - How come the Iron Lords don't stay drowned? - How did Jon come back after having all those holes in him - How did Melisandre birth a shadow demon thing that killed Renly - How come Whitewalkers shatter when hit with dragonstone or valyrian steel? - How come Bran can seemingly time travel of sorts. In a fantasy setting "magic" is a perfectly acceptable reasoning. Given the fact that most of the above are in some way attributed to at least one of many gods it would somewhat dull it a bit to say "yeah it's totally specific god(s) doing this" would ruin shit up, same as if it was to happen IRL. Oh had a thought while writing above:
  5. The Second Son aren't going, they're staying to hold "Bay of Dragons". The army she's using will be Unsullied, Dothraki, Greyjoys, Martell, Tyrell and a few dragons.
  6. Durex is a brand for condoms though.
  7. I'd need to rewatch but is it just Dothraki on the boats? Assumedly they'd maybe compose of 80% tops of a ships crew?
  8. The Humble Android bundle has some sweet games in it. For PWYW 100,000 can keep you going a fair while in those 5 minute slots you need to kill.
  9. He totally is. I imagine that was a massive continuity oversight. Though most of the "teleportation" is largely down to time, the show clearly has elements that aren't shown in chronological order but I doubt putting dates in would really fix things up. My understanding is Westeros and Essos are fucking massive, and while sorta based on UK n western Europe are about 10 times the scale. Some of the journeys from a to b would take weeks but it's presented in a manner that it takes only a few days. I think it took only a few episodes for the Greyjoy fleet to get from Iron Islands, which are on the west of Westeros, to the Free Cities in Essos for a stop and then on to Mereen.
  10. @Fred: I think it's magic, it's clearly a thing that exists given illusions, dragons, white walkers, warging, resurrection etc.
  11. So watching a lot of "Maker" type videos I'm learning there's a huge amount of differences in naming tools and materials. Saran wrap - See when I first heard of this I assumed it something similar to muslin, but instead it's cling film. Elmer's glue - So I first misheard this as "Elmo's glue" as in the seasame street character but it's Elmers. Though I had correctly figured the equivalent - PVA glue. We mainly use that at school for like papercraft projects n such. Cynoacrlayte - it's entirely possible that this is just used as a professional term, though I've also seen it as "crazy glue", but we'd call it "super glue". I'll maybe add more later cos I feel listing just three things isn't the "huge", but I've not been keeping a running list, just sorta mental atm.
  12. Huh, those were filled in. Oh I see, there's a Goal Title, which I have filled in, then a Description, which I've only done on the final tier. And there's nothing default about them, the default is no goals. And I had mulled a $1000 "Coach Surfing around everyone's house" goal too. Sorted.
  13. Dammit Thursday got in before me with the IT Crowd reference. Anywho that's one hell of an episode.
  14. Oh gods no. Boris n Gove wanted a nice 52:48 in favour of Remain. Enough to stay in the EU with all its perks, but enough on the Leave to call Camerons premiership into question and start the coup the Labour lot are all having a shot and and hey presto Prime Minister Johnson and Deputy Prime Minister Gove. A nice bit of play amongst those scrappy Etonians. They kinda fucked that plan up and cost the UK economy billions in a matter a days and who knows how much over the matter of years. But they'll have their off shore accounts so no problem for them. And yeah, neither actually wanted to Leave. The only person that wanted that, and he was barred from officially campaigning for it (likely cos he actually wanted it) was Farage and now he's all boo-hoo that he doesn't get to join a "Brexit" government as if the government would ever be built around this referendum and not existing parties. EU can't force our hand, but they're gonna damn well push for something. Either someone needs to take over and say we're not going through with it, or Boris or Gove need to take the noose, pop it round their neck and push the big red "Article 50" button and get a shiny b&w picture in the world history book in the chapter "The Dissolution of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland". History will decide if the next chapter is "The Dissolution of the Post-World War II European Project". Honestly it's fucking disgusting that they would play at politics without a care in the world, rifle up hatred so folks get shot at, kids are yelled at in the street, global economy goes through the ringer, and they'll likely face no overall consequences beyond embarrassment. Oh n for non brits some handy dandy "Class Politics in Modern Britian" in one photo: That'll be our Prime Minister, and head of "Remain" near the top step, and ex Mayor of London and head of "Leave" at the bottom step. There's another one kicking around with Osborne. Oh also give Thick of It a watch if you haven't.
  15. Currently wondering when the General Election will be, cos at this rate there isn't gonna be a parliament by end of summer. We've ended up with a government that hasn't a fucking clue what it's meant to be doing, with both main government and the opposition in a leadership crisis while Article 50 looms ahead. At this point seems most folks are trying to figure out how to get out of pushing the button on Article 50, from Scotland vetoing it, to just ignoring it. But requires politicians to have spine. I'm just honestly gobsmacked that literally no one but Sturgeon seemed to have had any plans in place should Leave win. "now what" should not have been the response we had.
  16. Sorted. Yeah there was a couple automatically picked options that make me think a lot of Patreon stuff isn't set up entirely with digital things in mind (big default is a pre-thing made, rather than being a monthly thing).
  17. https://www.patreon.com/pxod All sorta set up. Need to make a cover photo but I currently have nothing large enough for that. Probably refine some of the goals a bit, there's modules and stuff you can pay for but I've never massively looked at them but could maybe make things a bit nicer around here.
  18. I heard if you're into the Batman games it's meant to be sort of okay, just otherwise generally semi-mediocre game. I'm currently playing Starpoint Gemini which is your usual space ship fare though a bit more forgiving n somewhat brightly coloured. The voice acting is laughably bad (there's a sort of RPG element to it). Enjoying myself so far.
  19. So long time no post. First of all thanks to the recent-ish generous donation by ThursdayNext. Anywho, for those not in the know I've been off work sick for the past few months and SSP doesn't pay much beyond necessities so just kind of poking for another donation drive to top up funds. We're good for next month with the remainder of Thursdays donation, but peace of mind always good (also that's covering just the hosting, my plan to upgrade this place now I've the time off is sorta busted by not having paid for this years licensing...) Daniel suggested Patreon which I have looked into but seems that's set up more for blogs (which ours is quite inactive) and the like. But if folks would prefer something like that I can delve further into it (or if anyone using Patreon is more familiar with it to provide advice that'd be cool). Also the Amazon thing on the UK front at least is not far off being able to cash out the first £20!
  20. I've picked up Ghostbusters, for a barely the price of a Greggs pasty, and Starpoint Gemini 2 which seemed a kind of relaxed sort of space faring game compared to the "learn trajectories n shit" you get in Elite.
  21. Yeah any show that's more than 50 episodes is like "waah". Be almost like watching Coronation Street from the first episode (8,930 episodes of writing). So yeah stuff like FMA, Deathnote, etc. Shows with a clear begining and ends, opposed to likes of DBZ which'll go on as long as they can. I'm always up for recommending FMA. That PsychoPass seems to get good reviews, it's sorta on my list to watch.
  22. Oh if you're into the arcs and such then you'll like this, that's what Moffat revels in. I'm not a huge fan they get all a bit contrived and with the final series it's a bit all over the place I guess cos they had to rewrite Clara in and generally change the series to get rid of her. I did like that the latest series had all but one episode as multi-part stories which is kinda how they did it in ye-olden days Doctor Who.
  23. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/jun/25/view-wales-town-showered-eu-cash-votes-leave-ebbw-vale He's a great write up on the above with Wales. Gonna be a relatively quiet weekend as politicians across the continent convene n when parliament opens up on Monday we'll see a secondary burst of activity.
