Did my daily Crucible. Had a fun moment where I managed to sneak up on all my duckies lined up in a row and Nova Bomb them. Got a trophy for killing a Titan, Warlock n Hunter in PvP without dying too cos of it. edit: oh n we won in the end.

Ah. I'd been under the impression the Patrol thing was tied to locations, so I'd been going round cirlces in Russia. Not long had Venus unlock so I'll be there soonish. Just had OkayOctane join me (not sure if folks remember him). Was odd at first cos I was doing a mission and a Dreg in front of me explodes despite me not hitting him, turn around n there's Octane joining me for the ride. So we did a Strike together too (the "take out the servitor" thing). Played some Crucible. I've a mission to do a daily playlist match, but I can't find that. Did some bounties there too (though the "finish in top 3" and "kill 5 without dying" are both beyond my reach at the moment.) Oh now have the other subclass (sunsinger I think?) unlocked, buuuuttt it's a PITA to level up as you start with much less skills. I guess the idea is you jump back to earlier locations and re-do those missions?

Oh they're not difficult, as in the particular "Patrol" beacon thingy for the Energy Spike never seems to actually appear anywhere. So I've the full quest complete for just one bit that I can't do simply cos it's not popping up on the map to let me even start it. I have however hit my first difficult part, being this "Fist of Krota" dude.

So are Patrols meant to be nigh impossible to complete? Got this "Energy Spike" thing to do and best I can tell it's a newish part of the game and rare to pop up in the patrols. Currently Level 13, got a Strike thing to do if anyone would want to join, and my Light level is to quote DCR: "heh..uh-hehehe. sixty nine"

Yeah the advanced screening is Monday, and cinema staff get it unlocked Wednesday (meant to be for QC, and while Disney have said not to run employee shows you know at least a few will and there'll be at least a few members of staff being complete knobheads). On the prequel front I remember reading an article a while back about how prequels are really bad. Wasn't specifically aimed at Star Wars (or at all from what I remember, I think it was just a generic story-telling sense) but applies pretty well in how you're pretty much tied down in what you can do within the story, you can't suddenly realise what would make a better ending because that's what you're tied to and always leading to. Instead of having a scenario and some characters in that world and seeing where they take you, you're leading to a point. Every traditional story stars with "once upon a time". Not watched it myself, but I hear Gotham sucks and I imagine that it's having the same issue. You can't go "well we've these interesting characters in this interesting city, let's play with them" cos at the end of the day you know where they all end up. As for Ewan McGregor I imagine Hayden's acting wouldn't be seen as half as bad if if he wasn't alongside McGregor for a stark contrast. Though the brotherly love stuff was pretty clear. There's a great video kicking about (lemme see if I can find it..nope sorry guys) showing all the Alec Guinness mannerisms he utilises as the prequels progress. Ian McDiarmid was great too, but he's returning for that role. Samuel L Jackson was Samuel L Jackson. But yeah, Padme n Anakin had absolutely trash dialogue throughout the prequels. Be interesting to see if it results in anything. In order to reach such a wide agreement some of it had to be removed/unenforced. Seemingly a lot of that is to do with the US (which I know has weird rules on treaties and similar). Campaigners seem pleased though.

I've changed my mind, yeah you'll find Fallout 4 hard to comprehend and follow if you've not played the others.

A lot of that still sounds like mumbo-jumbo but I figure I'll understand more once I start on. Currently just doing bit of housework, but plan to pop on later.

Soooo.... Hints & Tips?

Wait...Anakin was a skilled pilot. Yeah R2-D2 is easy explained purely through age. By the time of Episode VII they'll both be pretty fucking old. I guessed C-3P0 was a product type. "My name is iPhone 6s, I am able to communicate in whatever language you speak". R2 was only around for a bit. It'd be a bit like..well recognising someones iPhone kicking around 30 years later, especially now one is gold plated. Folks refer to R2-D2 as an "R2-unit/type" several times which would especially enforce that it's just a model type. We see several C-3P0 types throughout the series in various shades.

Texts are essentially just the automatic signal that gets passed around towers already anyway so yeah they're likely last to go. Kinda balls when you see a limited text bundle.

Well that's Fallout 4 beaten. Have gone the path of the Railroad. Gonna do Brotherhood on my next run, got a better idea of how it clicks together now we should speed things up near the start since I know how to properly upgrade weapons and such

Yeah 26 people per 1km squared isn't gonna be enough for someone to stick up a mast so they can all get great coverage, especially (and this is a big difference between Kansas and Wales) when there's all the hills and valleys around so you're probably gonna need even more up to get decent coverage and in weird places that'll cost more. We're not super low density, but there's low enough populated areas that there's a few areas without brilliant coverage. There's gov't grants to get it sorted but despite what american capatialsm would tell you, private companies don't tend to spend that so well. Same with the shamefully shitty high-speed broadband rollout in rural areas.

Yeah she's a bit redundant at the moment. But she's a big name so they'll bring her in even if 1. It's detrimental to the plot 2. They already have Fassbender, and Sansa, and soon to be star of newest Star Wars as their baddy.

Yeah, probably quite likely especially given TFG is from Wales which has a lot of sparse areas.

Yeah, there might be a few missed references (and a hella big one) but otherwise no massive shared story. Especially given the first two were by a completely different studio and Behtesdas sorta done there own thing with it. Even going from Fallout 3 to Fallout 4 they've redone a chunk of the enemy and weapon designs too. Also a lot of changes to the mechanics too. It's mainly a shared lore, so the whole 1950's retrofuturism style, the focus around nuclear annihilation, etc. Main thing between the two
