  1. http://i.imgur.com/KlboEPn.gifv They really need to sort this. Also don't tell The Institute but I'm totally screwing them over. Also I stole all their tri-tools and turned them into bedroom furniture cos I'm cool like that.
  2. One Week to Star Wars.

    1. TCP

      TCP

I for one am excited for it to premier in the UK and have no opinions to contrary.

  3. Well that's largely Plan A. But good to have a Plan B. Plan 9 is to go to outer space. It's a huge fucking issue cos it's gonna fuck over everyone, but next to no one can actually actively agree with everyone to try n sort shit out. We're pretty much fucked by a bunch of rich folks temporary ego puffing. If I was pretentious artist type and with the means to do so I'd probably get a mountain side or something and carve in the name each of the world leaders around since we realised climate change was an issue so it'll be there for near perpetuity. I feel for all the smaller nations who are largely contributing nothing to the problem, still likely to be impacted, and too small to be able to do much themselves.
  4. As covered above, when measuring out a recipe you'd use ml/l for liquids as it's a measure of volume, and you'd use grams for weights like flour, butter, etc. e.g: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1581636/james-martins-yorkshire-puds Even when we use imperial like if I'm going through my grans recipe book it's still fl, oz (for volume) and oz for weights. e.g http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/basicpancakeswithsuga_66226 Also sifting into a cup is likely to be highly PITA so I can't see most folks doing that n likely to just scoop it right out of the bag. Only ambiguous measurement we use on a regular basis is the tablespoon, and there's very little variance from one to the next compared to cup sizes and usually used on the "to-taste" things like spice, oils, herbs and similar. edit: Hmm Thursday's response wasn't there when I posted (tbh slowly since I'm at work). Water is the key one for the whole 1g = 1 ml = 1c = 1 atmospheres = 1 so on etc. So yes assuming you're not using frozen or boiling water you can likely measure that out in grams or litres as you see fit.
  5. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/blocking-the-sun-is-no-plan-b-for-global-warming/ So folks are throwing around the idea of seeding clouds or similar to block out the sun to tackle global warming and those pesky robots over at 01. It's more than likely pretty damn doable, albeit expensive, but the issue would be the side effects on stuff like Vitamin D generation, and things like photosynthesis n so on. Humanity could survive, but not much else would. Oh and the whole political aspect of it.
  6. Oh I understand the concept of the whole ratio thing, but it causes issues when you are using a cup to measure both milk (a liquid with volume) and flour (a powder with weight). Flour especially so given its volume is super wide tolerance from fluffed up to compacted.
  7. http://www.buzzfeed.com/robinedds/attack-of-the-thrones Some of these are naf, some are good. I like the slave market one (or pretty much any time dialogue is replaced by R2 beeps ). Only just now noticed first episode has them finding a direwolf killed by stag and then the pups passed around (it didn't mean as much to me at the time).
  8. The rest of the world doesn't have to paint charts that look like they're trying to carry out alchemical transmutation when they're cooking. (I also like how the bottom has cups, as if all cups are born equal. It's why I hate googling for recipes cos you'll end up with one that's like "a cup of milk, a cup of flour" and you're like "they use different measures!!")
  9. I'd say Witcher 3 for me. Found it to be pretty solid in dialogue, pretty good story, good sidequests, and an absolutely beautiful and atmospheric world. A pleasing wrap-up to the trilogy. Only played two other games on there, and I'd say Barkman is pushing it a bit, and Fallout 4 while I'm likely to get many many hours into it, and it has redeemable features to it, it just doesn't compare to Witcher 3. Have watched Kenshi play Bloodborne and it looked pretty, and gets much praise, but I just can't wrap my head around Souls games. (Also in looking it seems from this year I've only beaten Arkham Knight, GTAV, Witcher 3, Rebel Galaxy, & Lifeline with FO4 due soonish)
  10. The Bee Eff Gee! Which is pretty much this part of the animated film and fairly spot on I'd say. Especially in terms of BFG's gangliness. I wonder how large his ears will be https://youtu.be/qKtN7M4uxRQ?t=2m56s My only apprehension would be the other giants being portrayed by comedians. They're meant to be big evil gruesome things.
  11. Wasn't Beatlemania largely an American phenomenon?
  12. http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2015-12/08/tom-hanks-digital-puppet// http://www.washington.edu/news/2015/12/07/what-makes-tom-hanks-look-like-tom-hanks/ So this is potentially cool tech that can lead the way into virtual actors. At the moment much of it is done quite manually, building it around an algorithm would make it much quicker and cheaper process, and would also allow you to capture anyone in-camera to then be someone else down the line (at the moment they usually get actors playing themselves: See Michael Douglas in Ant-Man, and Jeff Bridges in Tron Legacy). Give it a few years and you'll probably be able to slap your friends face on yourself in some app that draws from FB photos or something.
  13. Even with a UK only video, have you never listened to any version of Unchained Melody? It's my fave love song.
  14. Hehehe. To be fair that's before my GoT watching days so I'd be unable to tie folks faces to characters. Also you don't like Unchained Melody?
  15. Ant n Dec rose to fame dressing up as Gary and Misty from Pokemon!
  16. Don't forget when that came out I'll have been like 6 or so. Be more interested in Art Attack and Bernards Watch than Soldier Soldier.
  17. So I knew Jerome, of Robson & Jerome, was in Game of Thrones, but I guess cos was largely a 90's thing I had no super solid memory of what looked like and wasn't really actively looking for him. Plenty other british actors in there (most recently Maester Luwin popping up as Rassilion in Doctor Who this week). Just found out he's Bronn. So for the Americans here is the mercenary Bronn and friend singing "Unchained Melody"
  18. I actually had my first game breaking bug yesterday. Fast travelled to err..is it Nordhagen Beach (near Castle or Airport, around that area. Near Libertalia which was my main destination) and Super Mutants were attacking, killed them off pretty easily (now I've found out that Settlers can get away with just one ammo, rather than companions that need consistent supply, I've recently equipped them with like assault rifles, laser rifles n such), went to speak to Settler to dump some of my freshly looted equipment onto and got the response of "thanks for killing super mutants" (which annoyingly doesn't go away until you FT somewhere else and come back, so no trading after an attack) and interface just goes away while I'm talking to her. Can't move mouse, can't open VATS, pipboy etc. Managed to open menu though so saved and quit. Loaded up again and was in same space but now just had the background LOD skybox for the sea and sky. So had to roll back to my pre-FT save. Re-killed the Super Mutants then just ran away from Settlers.
  19. I've noticed no relationship changes based on sending folks home. It'd be a bit silly to do so given there's like a dozen companions and you can only take 1 at once. Also you're pretty early on in the game. As for romancing piper: http://aatkaw.tumblr.com/post/134373900235/how-to-romance-piper-wright I've only romanced the singer so far. I was meant to be finding a missing persons.
  20. I don't understand it all well enough to be able to Kinda sucks they're splitting it up, but makes it pretty much more certain that it's there purely as a way to recoup losses from FFXV. They could do with maybe more confirmation of what the overall plan with it is though, and that it's not just "put out part 1, maybe part 2, then meh we made our money back". Given XIV had to go completely back to the drawing board, XV has taken near 10 years ago, and the PC release of Lighting Returns was due in March n still not out is not exactly scoring them big points in the "we can release a FF game properly" department.
  21. I think it was implied they were hiding.
  22. I'd imagine a less fiddly hacked together way of tracking games would be one of the freelancing tools. Never had to use em myself cos I don't charge for the hour, but you can definitely get time tracking tools for like graphic designers and the like. I figure if they'll track how long you're in Photoshop n the like wouldn't be much harder to track Witcher or whatever.
  23. The Mos Eisley stuff is pretty overdone with silly CG animals, but there's some pretty good changes, like the shot of the X-Wings going around Yavin looked pretty pants with the original models. I linked a video earlier that showed the various changes and while some suck, many work and make sense within the film. I've watched IV recently and I have a Greedo shot first shot (the latest has them shoot at the same time)
  24. Yeah even in my low-internet I've seen this. Seems to be pretty much a case of slapping the FFVII branding on something to try and recoup some of the expected losses from having FFXV in development for 10 fucking years. Pretty disappointed as I find the FFXV gameplay to be farther from the older games than even XIII was. Was sorta hoping mainly for a HD remake/remodel of VII not just XV with a total conversion mod on it.
