http://geekwagon.net/projects/xkcd1190/?frame=1 So for quite a while XKCD has had a comic that had been updating (at the start) once ever half hour, though it slowed down a bit at time it seems. It's now officially finished and this site has compiled them all. You can either play it as an animation or scroll through at your own pace, which can be handy as conversations last a single frame.

From what I understand it's a case of the WYSIWYG quotes thing was sort of their own hack into the text editor, and it's not quite done so well so there's quirks to how the CSS and javascript interact. They're completely revamping the text editor as a whole next time around (includes properly done spoiler button too), so it'll sort the quotes issue which they'ere aware of. I'll make a post in Forum Changes as n when there's a bit more to post than about text editor.

I'll be making a post in future with regards to the qoutes thing, but for now it's looking to get fixed but I want more and more solid things to go on before making the "here's what's coming in the next big forum update".

My understanding of MightyText is it's pretty much just controlling your phone to send texts, much in the same way I can respond to texts through my phone while on my PC via AirDroid. My PC only gains the ability to "send texts" because it's controlling my PC. The apps are pretty much there or they're not, but given it's a Nexus device there's likely nothing stopping you installing a custom ROM that might include it. Though whether a 3G device can do regular phone calls seems up in the air. Doing some googling it seems it's pretty much a case of using the 3G connection to do Google Voice/VOIP calls. If it's a secondary phone in a sense of having your main phone just left charging in your room while going around the house with your nexus then you'll be sort of okay with Master-Slave connection like with MightText, but other than that I wouldn't buy a Nexus 7 if the main hope is that a phone hack will happen.

I'd be curious on the technical decision that lead to them going "okay we can't implement proper saves now, but can maybe do it down the line". Of which it's hardly a design decision if it's something they'll implement further down the line. It does seem a pretty weird choice to make, and does come across as quite a big negative for a modern RPG game. It somewhat breaks the flow of the game too because each new area you load up you've got to make a choice if you're going to spend the next 15-20 minutes going through that area to the end, or stop playing there and then. Also with it saving on the level loading, and not on the level being completed their level loading system better be damn stable. I also don't see it being something that would have delayed the game by any noticeable amount of time (it already was slightly delayed). Especially if it's implementing something already built into the engine they're using. The only complexity after adding the button into the main menu would be making it so you can't save mid-combat or something.

No it's not just you. I imagine whatever server we're running on has the unix time set up wrong. As it currently stands it's not causing any issues so not really looked into it.

It must do on Google, on Amazon it's £1.28 for "full". I had to get my housemate to get the price for me (cos all the app stores have this annoying thing where if you buy/own the app it changes from "£6.66" to "Play/Install".

I'd given Shadowrun a bit of a spin last night. I agree with much of Tenshi's criticism. It has many of the old school isometric RPG bells and whistles so that's all good. The save thing however is a massive pain in the butt and I see no reason for it to have been designed that way. And yeah, if you're someone that likes exploring you want to head elsewhere, maps are super tidgy and there's not much to explore for. There's like 3-4 things to look at per level. Feels pretty linear too, not much in the way of reactions or changes to choices. I'd say it's a game that'll maybe/hopefully get better with updates and as community makes use of their campaign editor. I'd be interested in picking it up in future mind.

Not had a chance to do any MP, I imagine it bumps up difficulty a fair bit. Also no Play Games support yet which'd be hugely welcome. Basically it's a mobile RTS, so stripped down to bare bones and a full round is playable in about 5 minutes, longer if you do the larger maps, more bots and such. There's power-ups you unlock as you level up in experience that let you do stuff like make an instant fleet, upgrade how many ships can flow down a path, spy on enemy for a bit, take over stars quicker, etc.

You and Revan managed to get blind spot to different sides of my above post. As time passes it's looking less likely this porn block is going to go through, especially when the MP sponsoring the change has shown herself to be pretty inept at how the interwebs works. Also Cameron's double sided stance that tits on the web is bad, but tits on page three of his BFF4EVAs newspaper is perfectly fine is making him look like a bit of a hypocrite too. Unfortunately Freedom of Information act doesn't apply to the PM's private flat so we'd never find out if he'd disabled it should it be fully implemented. Many folks are also pointing out it won't stop CP and there's plenty of fine ways to block kids from accessing porn, and it turns out 60% of parents already have some kind of web filter in place anyway.

I don't drive because driving lessons are fucking expensive. And the car and insurance on top of that even more so. It's more than likely that I'll end up with a car that'll drive me, but so far public transport and my own two legs are doing myself fine. As for weather I'm hating the skies are grey but there's clearly heat in the air. So you're having to be prepared for rain and thunder, but not been too wrapped up or you'll swelter.
