  1. I'm probably gonna end up with ones you've seen. But let's do this anyway. Shawshank Redemption: Great feel good film. (p.s you guys suck for it to take to page 2 for this to be mentioned) Monty Pythons Life of Brian: Very funny film. Great lines. Banned in Wales. nuf said. The Fifth Element: It's silly, stylish, fun, mostly lacking in CGI, great cast. I should pick it up on Blu-Ray The Matrix (and Animatrix too): This I do own on Blu-Ray, whole trilogy. Great blu-ray film. The Truman Show: Carrey really sells this. Great concept too. (especially when you realise it's over 13 years old n reality TV hadn't really caught on at that point) Enemy of the State: (also 13 years old) Good thriller Brazil: Terry Gilliam (of Monty Python animation sequence fame) It's not exactly a favourite, but it's a film I suggest watching just cos it's so trippy. Last Action Hero: It's TV Tropes: The Film. It physically shatters the fourth wall. Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrles/Snatch: Either or, they're practically the same film, though Snatch has higher production values. Forrest Gump: It does drag on a bit, but it's an awesome film. some great photoshopping too. Gattaca: Good one for a future where designer babies are the norm. Stargate: I had this film read to me I could watch it just for the first ka-woosh. Contact: Kinda like forrest gump this drags on. But probably best "what if we were contacted by aliens" movie. T2:Judgement Day: Cos it's fucking awesome and there's a man made out of liquid metal who used to give me nightmares (the car part) Die Hard: It's Die Hard. Best christmas film ever made. Kung Fu Panda: Just a really enjoyable 3D film, some good lines from Dustin Hoffmans character. FFVII:Advent Children: The plot I don't much get but it's a fucking beautiful film and one of the few I think "gets" the point of a photorealistic 3D film. Spirits Within is good too, just ignore it's Final Fantasy.
  2. Were you in restaurants or pubs, the "bar" would imply pub. Pubs tend to be multi-purpose, and just like you're not waited on for drinks you're not waited on for food either. The general gist is unless there's a dude at the door to count your party and escort you to a table you won't get waited on. Just go to the bar/food area/whatever n order there.(You might get waited on after that though. Just doing it pro-actively in a place like a pub to go to each table without food n ask if they want some is a waste of time) With practice you learn to not end up with more than £5 of change in your pocket. Anything bigger should be notes. I'm pretty sure I mentioned that you won't get much England in London. Too expensive to live there. Most people you'll meet, without going into an office or something, will be tourists like yourself. If you want proper England n English people you need to head out of London. Your TV sucks. We have classic stuff, so do you guys. The "90% of everything is shit" rule still applies. Also I have no idea who Kardashian is. btw a bunch of our channels (depends what you had; Freeview, Sky, Virgin?) are from US. Discovery, CNN, MTV, History Channel, SyFy, whatever. I have unsmoked bacon and swap between back bacon n streaky bacon.(depends what's cheap ) Don't forget we use real sugar. Size is mostly likely a cultural thing (big is better) as well as it making more sense to sell at 500ml that 591ml. Sweetcorn? I'd always been under the impression you guys called it Maize (or at least native americans). Also the many pages of this 35 page long thread should have taught you that UK, as the creator of Imperial measurements and participant of EU, uses both Imperial and Metric. You may be going a bit far with quarts though.
  3. http://store.steampo...scary_sale_2011 Mostly halloween themed games: Zombies, ghosts, devils, horror games, train simulators.
  4. That would be the usual description of bones being crushed n ground up. The cartilage n tendons do help lube up the mechanisms after a while though.
  5. See I've never played any of the PS2 GTAs so I get to live in blissful ignorance. (I'm sure there's a phrase regarding that)
  6. MUHAHAHA. Grainger Games brought Condoms, Midgets n booth babes to the GMAs last night (oh and did some coke too) and now the games media is outraged. MCV the most since they're the ones that organised the giant pat on the back. Even Gizmodo are running an article on it (lolol)

Could you link to an article please? Preferably not Gizmodo, but that's cool too.

  7. That'll be from Uncharted 2. Which I'd love to play but Ben has it still :/ Also I've tweeted ND with regards to if it's possible to use the MP download to launch MP or if it'll be from the disc upon release. I rather like the idea of MP being able to download/install (proper install not cache which most PS3 installs are) to HDD so you can just hop on whenever, no fiddling with discs. Heck they've shown the MP can run on it's own, I see no reason why it can't be sold separate. Kinda like DOWII:Last Standalone. It's one of the MP modes in DOWII: Retribution, but you can pick it up as it's own game for £5 or so.
  8. Yeah the error from before has now changed: Well that's really sweet. Can I make a suggestion that EA/DICE remove this stupid artificial limitation asap? It's not like I'm now going to go "oh well, I was going to look at a friend/platoons stats, looks like I can only do that if I buy the game, well lets load up Origin n put in my CC details". I can see folks stats on xbox.com without needing XBL Gold, don't even need to sign in to see Steam stats. Uncharted 2? No problemo. But BF3? Obviously they're a special case. I have an origin account, that's what it wants, but I need a special Origin account. Which btw does the game not require Origin as promised or does the fact it's asking for your Origin account give the answer away? I know the game has no in-built launcher for anything, as the alpha/beta suggested which already has the lovely side effect of:
  9. So the only way to access Battlelog is if you own the game? @Sporkwaffles: Groovy logo.
  10. Yeah this is the MP part of the game. Anything you do now will continue on to the games launch. You'll remain level 50, no wiping of stats. Wonder if you'll still be able to play it from the download though or if you'll need the disc.
  11. PC gamers, it's kinda expected (especially showing off the 360 version for the past year or so) but... it's a Port.
  12. Certainly helps Mozilla make a statement about Google not having a monopoly on their funds. Of course Chrome is eating Firefoxs' market share more than it's eating IE's so I have a feeling Google have have their cake and eat it too. Either way Mozilla is either hugely reliant on the creator of IE or the creator of Chrome. (Or they end it now n sign up with Yahoo)
  13. So when Chrome first came out there was questions raised about Googles funding of Firefox (of which they provide 90% of Mozillas funding through Search Engine referrals). Their current contract is set to expire next month. I believe this may or may not answer the question of what's in the future of Mozilla funding: http://www.firefoxwithbing.com/
  14. I have bought: - The castle quest in DA:O, the one that's "please help my family, look I bought my Chip&PIN machine to help it go along quicker" one. - Uncharted 2 maps - Buzz: Quiz TV; Sci-Fi n Video Game question packs - Defence Grid DLC (during sale, then they went free in the Summer Camp hours later ) I think that's it. (Unless Shale counts too, that kinda came with the game)

I think Fifa may be the best example of a yearly franchise that does things the right way. Mostly.

  16. Sensor bar can also detect depth too. As the wiimote is closer it "sees" the two points on the sensor bar* appear to get further apart. *Just so folks are aware the sensing part is actually in the tip of the wiimote, the "sensor" bar is just two IR LEDs and can be replaced by even tealights.
  17. Technically since Yantelope is "probably not" going to buy it, you're the only one getting it on 360. (p.s you guys can see who voted on what or is that a Mod thing?)
  18. Stupid weddings. Also that's a very low key way of saying you're now Mrs MightyEthan.
  19. Well that really sucks then. Also pro-tip for Blizzard would be to not make a trailer and avoid mentioning that it requires purchase of SC2.
  20. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=32102086&postcount=3251 Threw this in the Uncharted 3 thread too. Basically, if you've not yet heard, Eurogamer gave Uncharted 3 an 8/10. A terrible crime for a game to be given such a low score*. And it got a ton of backlash around the net and maybe a huge wake-up call on "hmm, maybe we've fucked up how review scores work". Overall it's a decent review, as in the writing n such is all their. But it's not a 10/10. It's this kind of reaction why we don't have review scores. People can't expect a number and be disappointed when the number given isn't as high as expected. And I'd be rather upset as a review writer to chuck out a few hundred words and have only the last few figures focused on. I'd jsut say "fuck it" and put out "SKYRIM: 9/10" and fuck the actual writing of the review. David Jaffe threw some thoughts on it too: http://criminalcrackdown.blogspot.com/2011/10/my-take-on-eurogamers-controversial.html *see I'd maybe be hating on the new site design but that horrendous 8/10 is horrendous. Though the font is pleasant.
  21. http://www.neogaf.co...&postcount=3251 Dang. I'll also chuck this in the Metacritic thread me thinks. oh here's the actual review: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-10-21-uncharted-3-drakes-deception-review
  22. You are playing a game, it has bugs, a web-based server browser, and dubious publisher. These are just examples, it could be much better. Prepare to enter, The Scary Door
