  1. http://www.gerbergear.com/Apocalypse In case you feel like arming yourself.
  2. I don't really keep up with Blizzcon so this is news to me. Seems a bit crap (trailer in general) and really badly timed, cos they're gonna be putting out DOTA after DOTA 2. It is a bad foreboding for Titan cos it screams that Blizzard really haven't a clue about the market. Of all the studios making a proper DOTA game they should have been first, not sixth or whatever. (then again just done some maths and until Titan/dota hits Blizzard will have been coasting off the same IP for 14+ years)
  3. Skyrim is Steamworks so getting it a day early would just be torture. I've generally had pre-order deliveries rather patchy so most of my pre-orders I do through the stores in town.
  4. It's a 10 minute walk that I can do in the morning as opposed to waiting on a post man that may or may not arrive that morning/day.
  5. I use Chrome too. Though LastPass replaces the native system. However I'm not removing LastPass due to one defective site though
  6. You pre-ordered online though didn't you?
  7. It asks for your origin account email rather than origin account name, and I only have one email for stuff like that. If it was a case of wrong account surely it would say "incorrect account/password" type error than a "you are not allowed to log-in"? btw do you know what would rock? Cookies. The simple joy of loading up a site and being logged in automatically. There isn't even a "remember me" and LastPass seems to not notice that it's a log-in page either so I can't do it through that.
  8. So due to the fuck-uperry of Tesco I've completely canned my order with them and today pre-ordered Skyrim from GAME (turns out there's a £5 deposit now which is bum) and I'll use my points to discount the price. Also added Batman:AC PS3 version to LoveFilm rental as "high priority". So yeah: Fuck Tesco.
  9. Punkbuster is awesome. Also wut:
  10. I am somewhat debating having a GPU upgrade. (I'm only on 512mb)

      Thursday Next

More Vice City style empire building and over-the-topitude. Less bleak, gritty, dullness and micro-managing friends.

Yeah I liked the fact you worked your way to the top in SR2, whereas GTAIV you were still just muscle even near the end of the game.

  11. Wouldn't Crysis be "Rumble in the Jungle"? Ah wait we can get around this. Far Cry: Rumble in the Jungle Far Cry 2: The Crazy World of Arthur Brown Dirt 3: It's been 4 years Farmville:Zynga takes no liability in your discovery that this is a psychological plaything and not really a game in the traditional sense and all our other ville games are the same game with a bit of a touch up. anyway aren't your crops dead now? Alpha Centauri: And the Mindworms of Doom.
  12. Have you checked your account page? Cos I too have that email and I still have Arkham City not down as a game I've ordered. I'm gonna hit them back up again, this is getting silly.
  13. How "current" is your current PC though. Don't forget consoles tend to launch out the door a fair bit better than the average PC of the time. And the date pinned to the PS4 is 2014
  14. Supposedly Alan Rickman loves to land roles as the good guy in white, but obviously he get's type cast quite a bit. I'm not much for chic flicks but I am quite a fan of Love Actually. I'm more fan of Richard Curtis' TV stuff (Blackadder, Mr Bean, etc) but I do want to see Boat that Rocked at some point ("Pirate Radio" in the US). My main issue with his films are he has an awful lot of Hugh Grant in it and he is a double edged sword. 1. He is probably the main reason why a british accent can supposedly get you in a US girls knickers. On the other hand 2. He set a stupidly high standard for us British guys abroad cos Hugh Grant isn't real.
  15. Today I had an awesome day in York and then train man locked me on a train and I didn't know where I was :(

Well not the conductor/driver. Just a dude who opened n closed the doors. In my case he closed the doors.

  16. It's only slow because it was a generation 2X drive compared to a DVD 12X (though the speeds aren't comparative, a 52X CD is way slower than DVD 12X). Current blu-ray drives can do 8X speeds (so much faster than DVD max) Actually WipEout HD chooses frame rate over resolution, it'll dynamically change the resolution in order to maintain 60fps.
  17. The PC "Gold" versions like Age of Empires Gold, Dawn of War Gold etc etc contain the expansion packs though. The new "complete" "GOTY Edition" stuff you get on console is part n parcel with the rise of DLC, and it's hardly like PC games still get ye olde fashioned "Gold" editions. Only one in recent memory is DOW2 (which with Retribution has fallen into the trap of DLC. £6.50 for a Tau commander? Fuck that shit, real model is as much) I think Dragon Age: Awakenings is the only expansion pack to hit console. Technically AC:Brotherhood n Halo:ODST too, but they became full games. Whether or not you believe it's stuff removed from a game during development it's certainly stuff that was planned with the development of the game and never added but purposefully held back to be retailed as DLC.
  18. Unsupported as of a while ago.
  19. I wouldn't be getting too far ahead of ourselves. Raytracing is still very much in the realm of films only. Don't forget Intel had a shot with Larrabee for ray-tracing and had to scrap it because it was just so crap compared to the raster cards already on the market. You can do real-time ray-tracing if you game is nothing more than a ball moving around a room, but that's about it. rasterisation will pretty much always be ahead of ray-tracing for real time graphics. Nvidia PhysX? It's very much their own exclusive thing. Havok is cross-platform though.
  20. The worse deal and waiting (aka doing nothing) is going out of someones way? There's plenty of games to tide you over in the meantime. And picking up a game with all the DLC 6-12 months later for ~£30 all in one package as opposed to picking it up for £40 new then splashing out on the as it comes for ~£20 or so is a worse deal? I picked up Dragon Age new for £30, it was cheaper to then buy Dragon Age all over again in he ultimate package than it was to buy the DLC. (Which brings up another point of DLC never dropping in price)
  21. So unsure if you guys are aware but US is about it for countries that put finger blenders in your sink. Pretty much every other nation is fine with a grate covering that lets water down it (In fact you're not meant to put anything else down it cos it makes reprocessing a pain, not that it stops people) Because only in the US would you think "What can we do to improve the design of this grate that little kids fingers occasionally get stuck down? Let's put a grinder in it too!" (Oh this means for the most part kitchen sink grinder things are largely only ever seen in TV and film and therefore about as mythical as most of the stuff seen on CSI n such)
  22. I think when he says people refuse to learn, it's that they refuse to learn the conversion. It's a straight 1000 duplication all the way. Your question about quarts in a gallon kinda reinforces that metric is simple to learn n makes sense, as opposed to imperial.
  23. Kinda like the inflation accounted for in "MasterDex's rather lengthy post a couple pages back." Regarding you poking 10 holes in it, why don't you bring out 30 years of iSupply breakdown data then? The reason why we go off MSRP, the same MSRP you've just used in your last post might I add, is because it's the easiest to compare because they all have an MSRP but only a couple have breakdown of cost. Having consoles grouped in generations due to their release date is arbitrary? You do know what arbitrary means right? So for example a system of time, like the launch dates. The PS4 is not "the first console to break the 5 year system". The 5 year thing, now that's arbitrary. It's also been known for a very very long time that this gen will last longer than those preceding. You can't delay something that never had a proper date in the first place. Nor can it be delayed on your misplaced assumption of a strict 5 year cycle.
