  1. If you're tunnelling out a cave you plan to you a decent amount then yes a chest/workbench and forge are a good idea to prop up along your travels (means you get to return and find processed ingots, as well as easy to make pick-axes if you take plenty of wood with you. Less need to return so fast if you have at least 64 wood. That's a decent amount of torches, pick axes and chests.
  2. I think the perception is changing. Just a few "core" gamers stuck in their ways of it all been Snake and N-Gage.
  3. Actually as part of the deal I took, yeah PC version.

I didn't forget any of that at all. And taking into account all of that it's still nowhere near worth in excess of $1.2billion.
  5. Which is what everyone in Europe goes throw buying keys from that company in Washington, US. Unknown currencies, unsure if it's the right language and it's in another country with different/no consumer protection laws. Anyway my experience with Intkeys since no one asked. The site is all pretty class. It's cheap but not the cheapest as Maritan informed me. Skyrim for $29 ain't too bad. I purchased using a temporary Visa I was given for my birthday. They're all set up quite well on support. Offering live chat in 4 major European languages. I did have a chat with them to settle a few issues I had, they're not bad. You can go chat with them now if you want. It does require VPN for activation, they even have petty decent instructions too. I kinda skipped that part since I have a real live russian on hand (sorry for hitting you up at 5am though). These are companies that are well aware people go "eugh russain, must be shady" and do suggest you share your customer experiences. They kinda rely on the fact people trust them enough. If they offered cheap games and didn't deliver then people would be much less inclined to pass them on and recommend them to friends. Whereas if they offer cheap games and it all goes okay... So yes all rather good. Pretty quick, I got my key in 10 minutes. And it obviously worked. Would I use them again? Not sure. I did kinda pick up my next to major games (Skyrim n B:AC) cheaper than they have them for. Their prices don't fluctuate as fast as Steam either so stuff like DNF and Red Faction have been cheaper to buy right from Steam in the past week. So there's my experience. I don't really find Russia any less shady than buying from US.

Because you decided to respond to questions not aimed at you? Which going off P4 could carry on for another 4 and a half months :/ Also they've only released 1 MP only game in like 4 years. Everything else they've made is Single player or both. Also this one is directed at you: What does gamestop, the 360 and MS have to do with anything Steam/EA related?
  7. Ah how our prejudices show. Company from Washington, US sells a game for $15 it's a steal. Company from Moscow, Russia sells a game for $15 it's been stolen.
  8. http://www.itnews.com.au/News/276700,ibm-eyes-brain-like-computing.aspx So IBM are predicting the end of the "programmable computing" era. Going off from the success of Watson (which has commercial applications in healthcare so not just a one trick pony for Jeopardy) they're now heading off into wanting to develop a human brain facsimile in the next decade. Just to pull the numbers for those not reading the article: Blue Gene/P has 147K cores and 144TB of RAM. It was built two years ago and simulates 764million neurons (i.e a cat brain). A human brain has 20billion neurons. They've got a fair way to go. Also needing to learn how a brain works with programming compared to a computer. (Human brains cheat. An awful lot. Computers are stupid comparatively. A computer needs to know what every single cup in existence looks like in order to identify it as a cup. We only need to see one and able to apply that to every other cup we see to know it's a cup. ) So yeah IBM is now kinda moving on from regular old computers to....well I guess AI. Dunno if they'll manage within a decade though, but neuroscience is a vastly expanding field and they have Moore's Law on their side.

Looks like the new bubble has gotten to his head. EA bought Popcap for just over half of that. They have one game, and it has been sold (and given away for free for the most part) 50million+ times. Even if all of those were paid copies on the iPhone it's still only $50million. Even adding on top of that the merchandising it's still miles short of touching even a billion.
  10. So Batman Arkham City CE for PC: Batman: Arkham City game Batman: Arkham City soundtrack Batman: Arkham City Artbook Batman statue Batman: Gotham Knight animated film Batman 3D glasses Batman hand painted laptop Batman: hey wait a minute lets back up here.
  11. Not like that is something western sites are totally free from though is it?
  12. I bought Deus Ex through "IntKeys" If you ask Maritan he knows tons of these sites. I also had to ask Maritan to activate my key for me too though :/ There was an issue with Activision taking the keys off peoples accounts with MW2 a couple years back, though I've had no issues with my Deus Ex up to now. (Which I'm pretty sure is against the rules. You don't have Smirnoff pop in your home n take away the cheap booze you brought back from holiday) Even though I've used it and it all went okay I am still wary of them. If it wasn't for being so god damn cheap I probably wouldn't have had a shot.
  13. Dunno. You'll have to check it out.
  14. Notch put out a vote on the whole round moon/square moon thing: And it's not gotten any more clear since. http://poll.pollcode.com/A0qQ
  15. top loading washing machines in the UK? Unless you go in a laundrette (which are rare as it is) you'll probably never see one.
  16. Well it's not so much that particular model (it's a fairly standard design, door in front, dials on top, tray to the side) but the particular design. That type is prevalent to the point I have to get much more specific with my google image search to get these as a result:
  17. I'm the one who linked the damn article Rocky. In fact I even googled to find the better article (cos the first was Joystiq and all the crappiness that comes with that). I know what it was. I also know he won a pumpkin pie. And he won with FO3 too.
  18. Rocky, no offence, but it'd be pretty retarded to think a TES game is anything less than 2 solid days long. (Also I'm pretty sure I covered the whole "main quest line is like nothing of the main game" a while back when we discussed what counts as spoilers)
  19. Skyrim is only just over 2 hours long
  20. You don't have clothes dryers in England? That's a washing machine.
  21. I can't play Oblivion It's just a major pain to fuck with the Mods and balance them all out. My housemate had the bright suggestion of "why not use it without" but some mods you just can't leave behind. I just can't be arsed to work out which does what. Really hope Skyrim comes with a proper mod loader. OMM is okay, but an official loader would be much better. Said housemate does have the PS3 version though which I guess I could get back to. I still have its saves. Oh and I added a poll too.

State and local taxes are determined at the state and local level. The feds have no authority to do anything with them.

I understand this Battra. But then Cain's plan raises sales taxes to up to 20% in some places when you take into account both federal and local taxes. I don't know if he's addressed this.

I'm not a fan of 999 as it's written but I think it's a good start. Quite frankly, I'd just like to see a flat tax with no exemptions at all. That way it will make it much easier for everyone.

See I've not bought any GFWL games off Steam. I own Fallout 3, but that was bought on disc so Steam never got involved and New Vegas shifted to Steamworks. Same kinda happened with Dawn of War II. I didn't know the DLC was just a GFWL code despite being sold through Steam. Kinda throws more stuff on the "why just EA effected?" pile. Portal 2 is SP and came out just over 6 months ago. btw any of you guys know the average time it takes from joining the forum to realising why most of these types of question are directed at Thursday?
  24. I don't think you could ever call something that helps you make cups of tea ugly and fat.
  25. You mean Americans are too cheap to put BS 1363 on the end of their wires? Also I'm pretty sure ours is meant to be one of the safest with the gates n grounding n all that.
