  1. Well I won't be impulsively taking up smoking... Also it mentions buyers remorse as an example too. Wanna know how I don't have buyers remorse?....
  2. I'm going to go back to justification on this one. I don't think saying you might not enjoy it legitimizes illegally downloading a game and I agree with TN by saying that it's a fallacy for anyone to claim they know for sure they wouldn't buy a game. What people think they will do and what people actually do are not the same thing. Why would we/I not know what we/I would do? I know that I won't be buying a game for £20 and up unless I have some assurances that it is a good game and worth that amount. So I do know that I wouldn't buy the game. It's pretty simple. I am me, I know what I would do. Fully agree, bring it back. Gimme..$20 I think and it can come back.
  3. I don't think I've paid £40 ("full price") for a game for years now. Oh and this here Kinda implies we don't want to buy the game. When the fact that many of us here have quite a decent games collection would suggest quite the opposite.
  4. Which would be pirating to own. Which many of your comments do suggest you're applying how/why you pirate to the rest of us.
  5. [1] I was under the impression that it was due to it being an extra cost since you need to make a demo on top of the full game too. Which is where things like Gaikia/Onlive come in. Cos you don't need to make the demo as it's a set 30 minute chunk of the game. At most it's a case of porting it to Onlive/Gaikia which I can't imagine being too hard cos that'd be detrimental to Onlive/Gaikias aims of getting publishers on board . And the whole point of demoing the game is to see if you are interested. If it's a game you're not interested in at all, for example I'd never bother with any horror game, then you're not going to get to the stage of demoing. You're working off the assumption that we don't want to buy games which is frankly absurd. Also your honour I present to you: http://steamcommunit...e/games?tab=all http://steamcommunit...v/games?tab=all And I'm the one with a vested interest in not buying games huh? Holy crapballs you guys have posted a lot.

They had the dude from Modern Warfare, Isaac from dead space, the hitman guy, the street fighter guy with the hair standing up, a little sister, and Ezio. Those are only ones I could find.

  6. I see we've started entering the realm of sci-fi... Also Yante it usually takes a bit less than "hours of your life" to work out if a game sucks or not. Raptr says I have 2 hours in BF3 beta for example.
  7. We mare or may not have written shy of 9000 words on Deus Ex: Human Revolution http://pressxordie.com/2011/10/04/roundtable-deus-ex-human-revolution/

  10. That doesn't exactly sound like it. Sure not going to license it willy nilly, but that's definitely not a "this engine is never leaving id" kinda statement. Just a clause that Bethesda would be your publisher. id have never been owned before by another company/publisher so it's not really a clause they could have had. (Also worth noting Carmack has also put id Tech 5 down for the open source treatment too.)
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5oEdfT4OWY It unloads the textures as you look away. :/ So much for "streaming textures" and taking full use of all that spacious RAM PC GPUs have (PS3 n 360 have ~256MB, modern PC GPU has at least 4 times that) Usually when you're pushing a tech demo you aim to make it look good. Both Crysis 2, the CryEnginge 3 advert, and RAGE, the id Tech 5 advert, have had the same issues with looking a bit gash (though I'm unsure if RAGE has any massively high-poly count concrete road blocks ). For a game that was really heavily pushing the "megatextures" having the some of the worst looking textures of the year isn't really helping push the idea. Dammit Duke. edit: How do we have the same video but mine is wide screen?
  12. http://hoitcg.com/hoi/index.php I believe some of you are into Hearts of Iron. And some are into Card Games.

  14. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-09-30-how-bad-is-pc-piracy-really-article Ultimately it kinda concludes that there's no real way to work out how big piracy is, and also that DRM kinda sucks. There's a few choice parts though: I'm not so sure DADC would be saying piracy is practically gone when their business model relies on piracy existing. Which now I've typed that out it suddenly seems really perverse. This is the Ubisoft that delay PC versions of games, and when it is released it's wrapped in some of the foulest DRM known to man that regularly without fail...fails and locks out legit players. A 90% decline and yet they continue? Though Pachter does have something pretty on target to say (which is odd from his usual self)
  15. You only get the Omega boss-fight if you pre-order. From a single retailer. In one territory. Well fuck you.

  17. All four of them fit. And it was always a "may" when describing the outcomes.: I think at first it wasn't meant to have any choices, hence the rather weak "push 4 buttons" thing. They don't really diverge too much either, probably to keep in line with the fact they can't have an ending where Augmentations are stopped completely. Ad while I've not played IW, I was under the impression that it assumed all the endings were true.
  18. Not yet. I don't think any will be popping out until closer to December/late November.
  19. Saw someone RT totalbiscuit on the matter. Total dick move on EAs part. Others have pointed out how Steam has VAC but VAC only blocks you from going on VAC servers. And given there's no officially endorsed Source servers the VAC bans are only if you are hacking, not the server. Thing is the only server browser I know of for BF3 is through battlelog. Surely they'd have a bit more control on what servers people play?
  20. Would that have anything to do with me being on EU West?
