  1. Yeah that's not cheap, then again if it's including stuff like phones you'd have anyway it's not really a major cost. It is however very neat.
  2. From my understanding: Never. EULAs on games have a fatal flaw in that there's no way for you to agree to it.
  3. Yeah I'm a big fan of TD, but mainly when it's only put in Tower Defence-only games. So can't say I'm best pleased with this news. Kinda goes back on what is being said in that other-thread-that-isn't-about-Assassins-Creed-but-I-can't-be-arsed-shifting-over-atm about AC:B having a bit too much random crap to do.
  4. http://www.gamersmint.com/gabe-newell-apple-can-launch-a-product-which-can-make-home-consoles-disappear I'm inclined to agree with him. On both the front that Apple could change how the console market works, and also that they're douchebags with their closed systems. (not that it's much different to consoles currently mind) They already have Apple TV running iOS, so it's not much of a leap. Being apple though it's not like it'll necessarily change it for the better. (And yes I'm aware of the Pippin, it's not exactly a product of 'new' Apple though)
  5. Yeah I'm not really understanding the point of many of the questions either. I threw it up in Steam chat n Shadowplay didn't understand the point of the Halloween one. I pointed out it's a culture question, since not every country has Halloween. (edited to remove superflous convo) (What's odd is he knew the roots...) I think when you have a test where even people born and raised here don't know many of the answers it's a fair bit flawed. Mainly the history questions that should be gotten rid of. Questions on the school system, monarchy, EU, CV, going to hospital: Yeah keep those in. But why would you want or need to know why the first census was held? Maybe throw one in about Coronation Street instead. Coronation Street is: - The road upon which a monarch to be travels upon before the crowning ceremony - A brand of chocolates - A popular TV show - none the above

Plus, I don't think I've ever seen achievements unlock more in-game content. Only avatar stuff.

I think that this list of complaints is applicable to only the highest profile releases. Most games you can grab and just have everything. Portable games and Wii games and indie games and XBLA/PSN games generally don't do this. So, the vast majority of games.

The only thing on that list that annoys me is the pre-order stuff from different retailers as it is designed so everyone loses out. Similar to only releasing certain bonuses in different regions.

  6. Everyone surviving was entirely optional too. You could still beat the game without it. Just depended upon whether you felt it was a good ending or not.
  7. http://www.guardian....nship-test-quiz Well there you go. Knock yourself out. No cheating. (Oh I got 13 out of 24. Maybe I should have called the police?)

  9. Loyalty missions were also entirely optional. Just saying.
  10. So how does it look in comparison? (Demon's Souls isn't exactly the prettiest of games)
  11. http://www.guardian....rvice-providers Now it's been said it only kicks in when you get a new ISP/move. But it's still pretty dodgy that you have to opt-out of the filter than opt-in. Surely a list of parents who want ot cotton wool wrap their kids would be much better to have on file and potentially lose than a list of everyone in the UK who wants to look at porn/misclassified sites? "MP for Berkshire likes looking at porn" "Blue Peter Present found to be whacking off" "David Cameron: What fetish is he into?" "Porn Filter dropped"
  12. The ending to AC:B was pretty naf though. Over all game = good. Ending with the = Bad
  13. The THQ collection is probably one of the best bang-for-buck and top quality publisher catalogues on Steam.
  14. Multiplayer is a big incentive in a predominantly single player franchise? I guess that's why Brotherhood came with UbiDRM eh?
  15. He reckons he has been through his collection (He also owns substantially more games than me and I'm not up for going through every single one. I've at the very least had a peek through his PS3 games). Re-buying it was easier than grumbling that he probably hadn't and also being without the game regardless. He's just got his loan in so I can always attempt to guilt him over it but I'm not really into that (doesn't seem like it's going to stop Ben mind)
  16. Now there's no solid evidence of yet mind. But somewhere between me buying the game and a couple months ago two things happened: 1. Tom borrowed the game. 2. The disc went missing. The assumption is it's somewhere in his game collection (he's one of those types with Mirrors Edge in the Halo case and Oblivion in the Mirrors Edge case)

  18. Doctor has made quite the point of not being keen on having the Flesh needlessly die.
  19. Arena? I'm pretty sure they've said it's coming back.
