  1. I believe the term you're looking for is "seems pretty human". The whole point of swear words. The whole reason we have a designation of a particular subset of words as "naughty" is so we have something that's taboo/vulgar/extreme. My personal dislike for the overuse is becuase when you really really need a good word to just sum it all up, all you can do is say "FFFUUUCCCKK" louder than usual. Also when writing, swear words do have a habit of coming up as a good adjectives/adverbs/nouns/verbs to use before most other, more appropriate, words and that gets annoying. Of note: I've only casually glanced over this thread. Thought I'd dip my toes in.
  2. It's not plausible though cos it's a film not a game. In a film the screen doesn't go fuzzy and the camera all wobbly just cos the lead character is drunk. Film is a ratehr uninteractive medium and doesn't really care much to try n get the audience in on the action. The reason it vibrated is because for years the Foley has always made ringing metal noises after bullet's hit metal objects. I don't think he cared for what the dialogue said, that's someone else's trouble. And a crappy director just didn't notice it I guess.
  3. They didn't just run a review. They also weren't the only site to review it. They oddly did end up on the front cover though.
  4. I'm still weirded out by D'toids involvement with the game. Seems pretty fucking shady if you ask me. And that's enough to put me off the game (never mind disliking the genre)
  5. Know what would make me crack my PS3? If I could change the orchestra to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goPduGKpcIE

    1. Pojodin

      Pojodin

It would be nice if they would allow us to change the opening theme.

    2. 「Advent Chaos」

      「Advent Chaos」

Oh god yes, the PS opening always felt like an awesome mystery.

    3. Mal

      Mal

I would do that in a heart beat.

  6. Don't forget this time 2 years back this forum used to be known as "the kotakuites forums" so it's not too weird.
  7. I think because they think in a very black n white manner. Also telling your shareholders that the pirates are your best customers would kinda make them balk a bit. They'd rather have everyone paying, than accept the idea that in order to have a fair few sales you need to take a few losses. It's a kind of all or nothing mentality.
  8. We have streaky bacon, back bacon, and gammon. And probably a few other cuts, but I'm no butcher. We even eat the parts of the pig that make them bent.
  9. I bought Dungeons of Dredmor. The devs reckon it should run on my netbook.
  10. That's the film with the super powered 'murkin yeah?
  11. I HAVEN'T WATCHED THIS FILM FOR AGES!!!!

    Terraria

Well is there anyone with a spare PC and decent bandwidth willing to do this? I assume it's not that intensive to run.
  13. I personally prefer V just cos I feel it's more manageable. Also it looks quite pretty, though I wish that the advisers would advance with the times like my buildings do. I'm building a shuttle for Alpha Centuari and my advisers are wearing togas.

    Terraria

Does anyone know of where you'd look into setting up a Terraria server, or how much they'd cost? There's been a couple folks in this thread and the steam group suggesting a server. I'd love to run a bunch of servers n such, but as a community we're nowhere near big enough yet. But if it's cheap we can maybe look into ways of getting it going.
  15. This one is maybe going to have a few too many. Though I guess bigger game it can fit them all in. Just hope it meshes together well.
  16. http://www.geek.com/articles/geek-cetera/movie-industry-bins-report-proving-pirates-are-great-consumers-20110720/ Though we kinda already know this. They fact they're holding back reports however was not known
  17. I was getting at American Bison been Bison Bison. WTF disliked Chia Tea cos its Tea Tea.
  18. I've also heard that adding milk to tea basically destroys any anti-oxidant n other health benefits tea has. I've taken to drinking tea n coffee black, but tbh it's more out of laziness. I don't always have breakfast so I rarely have milk in (I have changed this around lately) so rather than nipping to the shop to pick up milk to add a drop to some tea I just got in the habit of having black tea. Also cos I've started having some of those twining selection boxes and they taste really nice on their own. btw WTF you must hate the American Bison? Also we're a day on and still no Americans coming forward on their tea making habits so I'll just link: BBC - h2g2 - Tea Also I use mates, guys, maybe a few others. Not geezers though. Geezers are those guys who are a bit greasy, on the other side of the law a bit. Which after the link was shared someone replied to it with "I stopped reading after he said the water needed to be boiling". Which got various replies of "you muppet, that's his fucking point. You guys don't have boiling water cos you think tea is a sissy". btw isn't OED like £5K for online access? Oh the Americanism article got a follow up: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-14201796
  19. Except I poached this from Gamespot. Both Gamespot n RPS are at Develop 2011. The concept is nice, but it's Kotaky staff who are browsing these boards.
  20. Just so you know, none of your posts will be saved from this point on. But feel free to read now. (or post, but it won't be saved)

Actually sod it, post away. I'll get some tech support and see about doing an in-place update, or doing it proper next monday.

  21. See I do Milk with coffee before pouring, but that's cos coffee can be burnt easier. But yeah it's a bit pointless boiling a kettle then pouring it over a cold teabag. might as well just run hot water out of the tap. Also I asked for yanks, not brits to respond
  22. Yeah I know 60minutes is officially a feature. I still feel that 90 minutes is the proper length of a movie. 60minutes is "long TV episode". It's also way too short for what they charge at the cinemas.
  23. I may have hit a bug though which extended the time it took. I couldn't build the parts in other cities and move them to my capital. Just got the red no-go circle when I tried. So had to destroy all that I'd made and build it bit by bit in my capital. IU also couldn't put planes on my carriers, so I'm thinking I may have just hit upon a bug (it was an old save on the new uber-patch mind)
  24. Hey, Forum just had super derp moment for me just past 10 minutes.
