    TAY Podcast

I'd maybe be up for it, but a bit burnt out after the Round tables. If you want anyone to bolster give me a yell. (oh that's unless it's next weekend, where I shall be away)
  2. Oh yeah you know the US ICE dept thing taking down any sites it's considers to be contributing to copyright infringement (including selling fakes too). Well they've started showing anti-piracy propaganda videos as well as official seals with eagles on. Thing is a freedom of information request turns out the anti-piracy stuff now running on these sites taken down by US Govt is not made by US Govt (as implied by the ending credits) but by NBC Universal.

Very iconic, at least within britain. I hope at the least it's just repurposed, and not knocked down for land or anything like that.

    3. WTF

      WTF

Yeah I hope so too. I mean I can see it becoming new Office Space because in a way White City is still sort of desirable though the East End is where stuff is happening now. I just hope whoever buys it just does something good with it.

Better yet, the new offices of PXOD!

  4. Fix'd (just cos I know how much that means to you) It's kind a like Murder and manslaughter, both kill someone, but they're not the same thing. Piracy isn't the be all and end all of CI either. It's just one aspect. The thing is the way music, movies and games are handled now is that there's now in place the method for everyone on this planet to have a copy of Lady Gags latest single for next to nothing. And still have several trillion copies left over. That's infinite goods. The problem here is the record companies don't want to be paid next to nothing, so they are trying to maintain the illusion of value on these products for as long as possible. And CI laws allow them to enforce this artificially generated cost. Anyone remember PS Home/Use it? I dunno what it's like now but at launch there was a bowling alley, but you had to wait in a queue to make use of these 5 or so bowling lanes. Now yes that's how it is IRL, but on a computer server you just instance it (you've at least played an MMO right?) and have hundreds playing at the same time. It's the same with music now. The reality is iTunes & Co can let them "instance" the music, but they're trying to maintain this illusion that just like in the real world with physical finite goods you need to "queue up", as the metaphor goes, for these virtual infinite goods.
  5. "For the lulz" same as they always have done. Anon used to hit some high profile guys, but even they were like "actually let's not attack PSN, it's dicking the users not the company" but Lulzsec are definitely aiming at the gamers with this one.
  6. Why would there be a difference?

  8. Given that in real life things like the Cuban missile crisis happened and the concept of MAD exists and is a possibilty: yeah we're pretty dumb. Anyway he did trick them, didn't Emma Frost pretty much just telepathically force their mind?
  9. http://www.economist.com/blogs/johnson/2011/05/euphemistically_speaking Kind of an extension on my last post.
  10. I quite like reading up on games n such, seeing what they've done n plan to do. The issue is sometimes they tend to dip a bit too much in the story. Though I'm pretty hardy to spoilers n such, so don't much mind I guess. There's very few games I'd buy without looking up on them.
  11. I'm waiting on Tom to pick it up
  12. Oh hadn't heard anything, though I've been a bit out the loop on film news for a while.

    Well that was fun.
  14. Well all the demos (except the fight n tiger woods cos I'm not ingot fighting games n Tigers woods don't work) And the main games I have at the moment are Heavy Rain, The Shoot, n Eyepet. Shoot would be the better one. edit: a fair chunk of the Wii games are pointing ones though.

Yeah I'd say that 12 monkeys is his most regular film.

      SomTervo

I'd say his best, too, in terms of cinematic and dramatic quality. Amazing. Not that I don't love Brazil et al. How'd you find the Imaginarium?

My mum thought it was confusing, but she did go for a coffee break n not let us pause it for her. Was alright. I don't remember much on it. The different actor thing worked. All very zany. Not bad, not much to make me remember it too well though.

  16. So anyone thinking they'll do a sequel to the prequel?

    Terraria

You gather resources and ore and make items to survive. After you have basic survival down, you accomplish small feats and make housing to attract NPCs that will offer various services. As you make tools, armor and weapons, you explore the world to fight various monstrosities which include slimes, undead, corruption, demons, boss fights, etc. In your journeys, you find various magic items as well. There are also special locations like floating islands, underground jungles, dungeons, hell, etc. Saves of worlds and characters are separate. So you can save your character and play with him on different worlds. Or if you have trouble with a dungeon or something, open an MP server with a world you played in SP and have them come over to help you. Content updates were also promised and so far, they are being delivered. That sounds pretty neat. I know there's a ton of comparisons as the 2D Minecraft, but it seems to have gone above n beyond in a few segments.

    Android ROMs

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1090 - here's your best spot, it seems it's rooted, but not with any ROM's made for it. It's quite different to others and I'd imagine people don't want to lose the PS:Suite access. edit: I hate it when I make a post n just leave it
  19. I agree the DRM is ass, but I would like to point out EA run their own servers, so on their games you tend to need to log into an EA account regardless of a primary unified account. And Ubisoft is through U-play which they have on a bunch of their games (though it's not necessary, though given Ubisofts DRM techniques I've not bought a PC game off them either, so unsure if I need a log-in for PC) At least on PC you can run Last Pass
  20. http://store.steampowered.com/news/5644/ Well that's one less thing.
  21. I shall point folks to the Witcher 2 thread.

    Android ROMs

The install, with the blue Android dude n spinning Cyanogen circle thing going around him. It all kinda sorted itself out sharpish after going through the HTC BIOS thing, so I'm guessing there's a couple steps missing. edit: And yeah I have the google apps stuff, confused on why it did't work. Let's see if I can do it manually.

    Android ROMs

I'm now on CM7. Very nice. I seemed to have done something wrong along the way though, no market at the moment. btw how long does it take your devices to update/flash? It took like 3-4 hours for me. Just seemed to crash then I went into the whatever it is (like the HTC BIOS, hold the "trackball" while turning it on) n fucked about n poof it all loaded up fine. Which I seem to remebr doing when I first put on CM6 too.
  24. Just had a peek. I see you "pulled a beefy", quite a few guys doing that lately. Well this place is around to keep most of the old crew together, some cool guys on kotaku it's nice to keep em around. So welcome.
