I get SP zone, but MP zone confuses me. SP Zone you just keep going on, every 10 seconds it speeds you up. So it's a case of keeping control until eventually you smash into a wall and destroy your ship. MP Zone I haven't got a clue.

Not so much different tbh. On 90% of games you're moving around on a 2D plane, so you only need fwd, bkwd, l n r. Apart from space sims n flight sims you're going to be just fine with WASD as you are with a thumbstick.

Just checked back now and turns out they've updated the entire thing. Surely that would have been worth doing before they launched it? The client looks nice. Lot's of white space though. Steam has a ton of negative space too, but it's just not as obvious. The front page feels very empty. Also clicking on a game in the carousel up top does nothing. Back n forward buttons don't work. The game pages are very sparse. Just a screenshot, box art, system specs n a blurb. No trailers or anything like that. I had a hunt and found no demos. The Connect options are fucked up. Took a while for it to decide to tell me that my email n password weren't wrong, just that PSN was down at the time. And It won't connect to live cos supposedly it's linked to another EA account.... (Why do I feel this is some issue with them bringing Bioware accounts together with EA accounts?) I do like that the friends list is right up there on the side at all times, but given none of the Connect features work it's a bit pointless. Games are filtered under "Best Shooters" or "The Sims 3" which seems an odd filter, but hey. They're obviously not trying to compete with Steam on the price front given their bargain range is "Games under £20" as opposed to "Games under £7/£4" Anyway I'm deanbmmv if anyone wants to add. I have a fire guy for an avatar because you're only allowed pre sanctioned avatars from EA games. Hooray. Overall it's certainly worthy of the beta moniker and largely useless and irrelevant. If the connect features worked that might be one thing over Steam, but they don't so... p.s this is in regards to the client. I got a bit side tracked once I got hte client in regards to the site: Why are all the trailers relegated to the main site, and the games to the client. Why not combine the two. Or something? edit: okay so I hit "visit the store" on the website, and it's a different store. It's essentially the old EA Store under Origin. Why are the client and the website two different things? There's no consistency at all.

Yeah Dead Nation game has turned out to be quite fun. If you have a co-op buddy then definitely pick it up.

But Steam doesn't really have any configuration. At most it asks you how fast your net connection is when you install it. Which given you're paying for your net connection should be easy enough to know. Just kinda feel like it's stabbing in the dark a bit.

Wait I thought we're discussing games going digital. They wouldn't have any games to make shelf space for. And being loss leaders seems to be about the only reason (at least in UK) supermarkets stock games. They like to see how much cheaper they can sell the latest n greatest thing in gaming than the specialists. Tesco got the 3DS so cheap for launch GAME made it company policy for staff to buy a few consoles from Tesco to make up their stock. (and selling them at pre-owned prices n still making a profit over the Tesco price)

Process of updating is not hard. Finding out what was wrong (because he acknowledges his experience wasn't the norm and something was afoot) was hard. Well in fact it's not hard it's actually completely n utterly impossible. Since consoles give very little feedback on things like this and don't knock out minidumps. I want someone who is primarily/only a console gamer n to know: What their PC is/how much it cost What (7th gen) console(s) they own What games they own What extra services they use (XBL/PSN+) maybe some other stuff. edit: he didn't find it hard, he found it long and annoying. Waiting for an hour isn't hard. He did state due to the simplicity of it there was no way at all to troubleshoot it himself. Which in actuality meant it kinda was more hard because you have no idea what is going on. Unlike Steam which when it shits the bed knocks out a MiniDump. So if you know your stuff you can sort it out. But on console if it's broken, you're fucked either way. And how can PC be "simplified" but not "simple" . And just to repeat. We're not saying they're hard. We're not saying you need a degree to use them. We're just saying they're not as simple as they used to be. Not being simple =/= hard. And now you're arguing that these tasks are fine on PC. Not even as things related to PC gaming. We have now kinda come full circle and to the point I'm not sure you know where your stance is. Just to clarify: Our point: Consoles are not as simple as they once were, PC gaming is not as complex as it once was. Your point: Wi-fi is the same as it is on PC as it is on console. DLC codes are redeemed on the store. Our point: So if it's fine to do Wi-Fi and calibrating controllers n such on console, is it supposedly hard to set up wi-fi on a PC and plug in a joypad? Also it's easy to redeem codes n unlock the rest of your game, but not so when buying a game through DD services on PC. They're on parity. Console is no more easier or simpler than PC, and PC is no more harder than console.
