"I know a lot of people, and perhaps especially religious people, will say that David and I should count ourselves lucky for living in a country that allows civil partnerships, and call it quits there. In most countries around the world, gay people aren't just disallowed from coming together in a legal sense; they are actually persecuted by governments because of their sexuality. Maybe we should just be happy that we at least have a civil partnership, and not push our luck. Well, I don't accept this. I don't accept it because there is a world of difference between calling someone your "partner" and calling them your "husband". "Partner" is a word that should be preserved for people you play tennis with, or work alongside in business. It doesn't come close to describing the love that I have for David, and he for me. In contrast, "husband" does. A "husband" is somebody that you cherish forever, that you would give up everything for, that you love in sickness and in health. Until the law recognises David Furnish is my husband, and not merely my partner, the law won't describe the man I know and adore." Part of an article in The Independent by Elton John doing a good job explaining why it's important to push for marriage equality, not just civil partnerships. It's got a nice tone to the article which I hate to say I didn't expected from Elton John - I always expect him to be angry.

I have to say I don't normally struggle to get enough coins/Lums/stars or whatever in the first world of a game or to place first in the first cup of a racing game etc. so I am slightly worried I will end up frustrated with the game. I wish I were better at games in genereal though. Practice doesn't seem to help me either I guess I just don't have the knack for them. I don't think I can stop my brain getting in the way of my reflexes.

I'm playing Rayman Origins. I've completed the first world and am really enjoying it. So far it's just the right level of challenge for me so I hope it doesn't get too much harder.. I only just got enough Lums to unlock the chest chasing level and I'm no good at speed runs and I don't want the flow to grind to a halt looking for enough lums to get the full test-tube-thing to get the extra electoons so I hope I don't miss out on too much of the locked content.

Isn't Friday a good day for releases, as it will leave most people with the weekend to play their new game.

I've always wondered if that game was worth getting so it's good to hear you rate it so highly. How long does a single run-through take? Hopefully not too long if it needs several of them to get the most out of it.

"The maintenance of civil order in society rests on the foundation of family discipline. Therefore, a child who disrespects his parents must be permanently removed from society in a way that gives an example to all other children of the importance of respect for parents. The death penalty for rebellious children is not something to be taken lightly. The guidelines for administering the death penalty to rebellious children are given in Deut 21:18-21" yikes. Running for Arkansas legislature and has previously held two terms so it's not just like he just a crackpot that everyone can ignore. Here's one of the alternatives: "If slavery were so God-awful, why didn’t Jesus or Paul condemn it, why was it in the Constitution and why wasn’t there a war before 1861? The South has always stood by the Constitution and limited government. When one attacks the Confederate Battle Flag, he is certainly denouncing these principles of government as well as Christianity." - GOP Arkansas state Rep. Roy Mauch, in a letter to a local newspaper. "

wow. Grab the marshmallows because he is flaming. Seriously though, I think this is the first time in history that when someone shouted, "Mum, don't come in", it would be less embarrassing if they were caught masturbating.

Can't imagine this offending anyone.

After reading people's posts in here I've been finishing off the bits and bobs I had left from Brotherhood and Revelations so I've just been playing the Lost Archive and OH MY GOD THE LASERS. I can't believe anyone in Ubisoft could have actually played those levels and let them out of the door. Either way I'm completely done with those two games now. I just need to try and find my ACII disc to play the DLC from those and then I'll be completely up to date Assassin's Creed-wise. I only need to decide if I should get III on PS3 with the exclusive content or Wii U cos I want to support 3rd party sales on it.

so... you liked it? I can't tell if you thought it was worth the effort.

I hardly ever used the zip lines - I always seemed to be at the bottom of them rather than the top.

I was looking at Cocktail and Wall Street, and ended up recording just Wall Street. I assumed Cocktail wouldn't have aged well.

I guess political maps are always going to be ... political.

Just bought myself a new album: This is one of the songs off it: I also bought the new Tori Amos album, but somehow this is the video that grabbed my attention. -
If you didn't realise it said 2012, what did you think it said/symbolised?

Here's TN's article: Protesters attacked statues, temples and houses Muslim protesters have attacked Buddhist villages in Bangladesh, after an image said to show a burnt Koran was posted on social network site Facebook. Witnesses said angry crowds set fire to homes and temples in the Cox's Bazar district, forcing families to flee. A curfew has been imposed and security forces are patrolling the streets. The man accused of posting the image is in protective custody. Police say he was tagged in the photo but did not post it himself. 'Premeditated communal violence' Buddhists in the area, in south-east Bangladesh, said their possessions were stolen before their homes were destroyed. "Before they set fire to my home, they looted everything," said resident Sumoto Barua. "They took our possessions, money, gold and even computers. Then they torched the house. I am now living under open sky." The violence erupted on Saturday and continued into the early hours of Sunday. Hundreds of protesters are said to have rampaged through Buddhist neighbourhoods, smashing statues, burning down monasteries and attacking houses. The violence spread to the outskirts of the port city of Chittagong, where a Hindu temple was also attacked. Bangladeshi Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir visited the scene and described the violence as "premeditated and deliberate acts of communal violence against a minority". District Commissioner of Cox's Bazar, Jaynul Bari, told the BBC Bengali service the government was already helping the victims. "We have distributed food rations for them. The army will supply more food," he said. "We are giving them building materials. The home minister has ordered that all the homes and the temples be restored to their former condition with the funds provided by the government." The authorities have now deployed additional security to prevent further violence and a curfew has been imposed in the worst affected area of Ramu sub-district. Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir visited the scene and condemned the violence

Cool, I just bought Horn. I saw a preview in the Tegra Zone app when I had my Nexus 7 and it looked p. cool but I'd totally forgotten about it. Now all I need to do is rebuy a tablet to play it on!

I bought the Oktoberfest Bundle: I've wanted Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble for a while, and Hector: Badge of Carnage sounds good too. Not heard of the others but it's worth it for the point and clicky goodness alone.
