  1. I just finished watching Dreamcatcher. It was really awful. Films based on Stephen King books seem to either be great or abominations never just OK. I thought since this one had a few actors I recognised it would be good. I was wrong, mind you I read the book years ago and thought that was pretty pants so I guess it was stupid of me to expect anything better. Jason Lee does look good in glasses though!
  2. I made jambalaya for my Mum's birthday dinner today. I doubt it was authentic but it was really tasty and it's a complete nightmare thinking of meals my brother will eat as the list of ingredients he doesn't like is a lot longer than the one he does. I also made a key lime pie - though I know that wasn't authentic as a proper one is made with lime curd and I basically made a lime mousse on top of a ginger nut base. This version is a lot lighter and more refreshing though. I have made lemon curd in the past and it is rather delicious compared to the shop bought stuff - definitely worth the effort if you're making a lemon meringue for example.
  3. You can buy it from normal retailers so you must be able to buy it on PAYG. No idea how much it will cost though but I'm betting it's too much to hope it would be liek the Kindle and have free data. Yes I know it would use more data than a Kindle but it could be free just for the game related stuff and PAYG for the non-core opertions stuff.
  4. mmm, just had baked Camembert for the first time. Gorgeous. Tasted like cauliflower cheese and dead easy to cook.
  5. It was quite hard to get one where he didn't have a massive grin so he looked more like the album cover.
  6. If someone like pepsi is advertising it, rather than a pack-in from my internet vi4gra then yes.
  7. If you're looking for a retail job to tide you over they start handing out application forms for Christmas temps from nowish. Fill in one of their application forms rather than hand in a CV. DO NOT FOLD THE FORM. Take a couple of copies - crossings out look awful. If this is the type of job you're looking for seriously pretty much that is all you need to do to get to the interview stage. I work in retail and honestly, a neat form with neat writing will make you better than about 80% of applicants. I help with the (group) interviews and our favourite people: -seem interested and attentive when people are talking (including other applicants not just the interviewers) -do not talk when other people are talking -ask when they don't understand something -dress smartly, sit up straight and are not chewing gum -are friendly and chatty but don't witter on -have a positive attitude even though we know it may not be their ideal job -non-confrontational and not argumentative. Don't act like you know more than the interviewer - even if you do! -don't wait to go last for anything Basically, you want the interviewer to be able to imagine you working there without causing any friction with their current employees and getting on with the job. Best of luck.
  8. book depository is now owned by Amazon. I hope they don't change it too much. Noel Fielding. He so funny:
  9. I'm still waiting for clarification of how 3G version will work before I make a decision. though I don't think I'll be getting one in the first year as I just got a 3DS and will be getting a Wii U next year.
  10. they shouldn't have shown something they had of intention of giving away.
  11. ooh, I just got The Fall on blu ray. I haven't seen it before and am quite excited now. Might watch it this weekend.
  12. Mine's 3437-3195-3803. I've also added everyone. Try not to laugh at my ridge racer times if you add me
  13. people do use they feedback websites, and I am sure they would be quite rightly annoyed if they were lied to about a chance of winning as I am sure that is why most people do it. Kinda like the pepsi case with the jump jet.
  14. dragon quest ix for £9.89 brand new. Bargain!
  15. don't worry. your joke made sense. Unless everyone else was joking by pretending not to understand it?... Damn, internet can make you paranoid.
  16. The way I'd go about lowering used sales if I were a publisher is to lower the cost of new games. If they sold new games at £30 then gamers wouldn't need to trade in their games to afford new ones. retailers would have to buy used copies at such a low price it would mean a lot of people would wouldn't bother and since the retailer would make less profit on used sales it wouldn't be pushed so much harder than new sales. It would also mean they'd get more sales in the launch window instead of people waiting for the price to drop so would get more value out of their marketing spend. If the publishers took this approach it would not eradicate used sales entirely but I think it would reduce it to a level that everyone could tolerate.

Like so many things in life, if there's no risk of seizures it's just not worth doing.

  20. If I ever get around to playing this is it better to play good or evil first or doesn't it make a difference?
  21. I finished reading it last night and yes, it was great. I'm guessing the version on TV wouldn't be the super-duper version and if I remember it didn't have that great reviews so unless I'm surprised by it I don't think I'll be splashing any cash on the blu ray.
  22. I like to read a book before I see a film purely because I don't like picturing the film in my head as I read. I just recorded the Watchmen, which finally inspired me to read the book which has been sitting on my shelf for over a year so I can watch the film.
  23. I just watched Connie and Carla and while I'm sure critically it wasn't a masterpiece I had a stupid grin on my face the whole time. chikapow!
