What are you listening to now?
TheFlyingGerbil replied to Chronixal's topic in Entertainment Exchange
A marimba medley of Pokémon music. I don't actually play the game but it's really nice and relaxing. -
Oh right. I guess I just didn't think you'd betray all our trust like that? I see how it is now. I shall go forward from today trusting no one. As I start to doubt my own thoughts and even reality itself the quiet, insistent whisperings of insanity will be the only thing I truly hear, beckoning me down to the darkness where I must surely follow.

I feel like there's a joke about Wii Y? in there somewhere. However, I can only imagine they will drop the wii brand like a flaming bag of turds for their next console as it won't bring any good will with it.

Not everyone would agree.

The extra long tutorials at the start of the game. Though just going back now and trying to find the rest of the quote it's actually from last year, as in a different article it references how link between worlds is less tutorial heavy as a result. Still, it's good news, if not exactly new news. It doesn't mention fi, though if he is taking on board constructive criticism there was certainly plenty of it about her and thinking back back didn't they completely remove a companion from link between worlds? that may be too far in the other direction. I'm hoping for either a proper character like midna (unlikely from the trailers we've seen so far) or just anavi style dot that floats over to interesting things that may be easier to miss in the open world style.

Even if they didn't show anything, this has got to be a relief:- Miyamo: "We're here to talk about Star Fox but Zelda is still coming to Wii U, so don't worry about that." so it's at least not an NX exclusive Aonuma: "In a game, it's when you get stuck, when you want that help. And I kinda frontloaded all that in Skyward Sword, and it doesn't really help to get that information when you don't know what to do with it. So that was a real learning experience for me. So I'm going to be careful not to do that."

I beat Splatoon. I got to level 20 (the current cap) yesterday, and beat the single player a while ago. I haven't dared try the ranked battles yet as I'm assuming everyone in there is a big meanie. Anyone tried it? I played the test fire so knew I'd like the multiplayer, but the single player was great, it's good enough to be its own game and I would definitely pay for more of it. I'd love to play the Amiibo takes on the stages, but you can't get the amiibo anywhere, and I wouldn't particularly want to pay £36 for the pleasure.

didn't realise that was still a thing.

Iwata: Thank you for watching. We take your opinions of this year’s Digital Event very seriously and will work to better meet your expectations in the future. #Iwatter Guessing the Nintendo event didn't go down too well. Next year they'll be the NX and Zelda, so it had better not be a disappointment or they're ruined. Also just realised they didn't mention about the membership program. I know that's not too interesting for the main event but I really want to know what's up.

Disregarding the content, I think the digital event is miles better than the live presentations. It's all tight, no pauses or lulls were they move between sections. They can do awesome stuff like the puppets. It all just seems much more professional. Plus I remember reading last year the "journalists" prefer it too as it was a lot easier for them to write up

We didn't get them from the supermarket, because they didn't sell clothes when I was young, but these are the white ones - they certainly weren't trainers or cool, nor even more expensive. We weren't allowed to wear trainers either, not until secondary school. Maybe it was seen as cooler because it meant you could tie your own shoelaces, so it was something that the older children wore? It was a long time ago, so I can't remember why really, I just remember they're the ones everyone wanted.

Top Gear is practically a parody of itself at this point - I hope they have a general rethink about its direction. Mel and Sue are the best thing on TV. Glad she's not sullied her good name by associating it with that show. If they wanted a woman that one who used to rally race and presents the channel five car shows would be a better fit.

we used to call those shoes "poverty pumps", what you really wanted were the white lace up version.

I'm guessing the GIF of was too super awesome to be real?

How did they spin the backwards compatibility? I can see at launch, 'play your favourite games and new ones'. But adding it in now all I can think of is, 'these new games are taking longer to make than we thought, guys.'

Did Sony mention anything vita related?

Nintendo has made some pretty major announcements so far. Earthbound Beginnings (aka Mother) coming out very soon and their mini direct last week with several new game announcements... I wonder what is in store for tomorrow either they have something so major they've been clearing space for it or it is just going to be showing a load of stuff we already know about and be super disappointing. Listen to that reaction... I hope they get something like that tomorrow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6z1NQF21Uc edit: WHAT? It's out now! How do they always manage that... they are the masters of keeping a secret literally until it is released "shortly after this direct" as they have done so many times.

i assumed he was trying to embed a video from the playlist, not the playlist itself. Find it slightly annoying the way youtube seems to hate giving you the plain video address.
-
[media] That's the format to use. if you get a weird format like youtu.be you need to actually follow the link to youtube website then use the first part of new address, or if you just remember: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= all the shortened links have the video ID (in this case, jXU5k4U8x20) which you can just add to the above generic address.

ebay has a code CTWENTY for 20% off any purchase over £20. It ends midnight. As far as I can work out you can use it for anything, but the value of the discount maxes out at £50. e.g. new xbox one with MCC for £220. Or just if you've wanted anything on ebay now is the time.

Dig dug was the only thing I could think of, but that's not a nintendo franchise. Drill dozer was the other thing, but while that was good, it doesn't seem like something you'd set retro on.

Anyone know what game that would be referencing?

for me it's not working on phone in mobile view/full version, on my laptop it's not working in IE nor Chrome neither. weird

Is view new content working for people? I'm having to click my way through to threads like a heathen.
