  1. Every shop has to charge 5p for any single use bag a customer wants. It's also in Wales and coming to England soon. The shops aren't supposed to profit from it the extra money goes to environmental causes. Though they can choose to give anywhere from all to none of the money away (at least in Wales). Unfortunately it's not clear which retailers do what with the money. Is not about money though it's just to make the customer stop and think if they really need a bag and I have to say it really does work very well. You get used to it very quickly-i always had a fabric bag on me before the law anyway but when I go shopping in England now it just seems awful when the cashier starts shoving an item in a bag without even asking and I have to stop them or you see people with half a dozen bags from different stores all with only one item in each so they could ask easily fit in one. It's all just done so unthinkingly and if you stopped and asked someone they'd agree it's bad and that's why the charge is good, it does the stopping and thinking for you
  2. Woah. That's a comparison between 150 and 200. That's insane, can you image if it was compared to 50CC, you'd have completed the fast one before the 50CC was over the starting line. This one shows with the higher speed you can use new shortcuts. I wonder if that means this was planned from the start?
  3. The lead singer's solo stuff is supposed to be quite good.
  4. I wonder why it isn't on PSN, it looks cool, but I wouldn't play it if I got it on PC.
  5. If they don't have a decent account system when they relaunch in Autumn, I think I will permanently give up hope for it (well, at least for this hardware generation) The reason I'm semi-hopeful is they've referred to it repeatedly as a membership service which includes a reward program aspect, so it is not just a rehash of club nintendo. Fingers crossed it's not paid, as that's the feeling I get from the way they keep referring to it. AMD has said they are creating two semi-custom (one x86, one ARM) designs to be released in 2016, at least one of which is a games console. There are lots of rumours swirling around that it's nintendo's new console, or even that both of them are if it's some sort of handheld/home hybrid. Also, that that's the reason for the Zelda delay to do a TP style multi-platform launch. Of course it's all wild speculation but certainly a possibility. Mr. GOH!: The only consistent negativity I see on this forum is from you, toward Nintendo, and if it was on a big gaming site so I didn't see all the other good stuff you post I would think you were trolling. I usually ignore negativity - there's a lot of posts (not just Nintendo-related) here and elsewhere I'd like to make but don't, as I don't want to get into drama , but I replied to your post with a snarky comment because I was in a bad mood, which was not the coolest move but I don't think entirely undeserved. No hard feeling I hope. If so I apologise.
  6. there's not a chance in hell nintendo is doing anything to make virtual console games look good, they didn't even fix the PAL/NTSC frequency issues that actually make games run incorrectly never mind bother with prettying them up.
  7. I don't know if early access is different to greenlight, but someone was raving about Crypt of the Necrodancer on a podcast I listen to (Gamecentral podcast, which is brilliant if you're looking for a podcast to listen to) It's a rhythm game rogue-like. You can even use it with a dance mat if you can dig one of those out.
  8. It looks insane. Can't wait to have a go but will definitely be in permanent eighth place.
  9. Homeland gets progressively more preposterous as the series goes on. I kind of wish I'd given season four a chance but I just deleted it from my DVR last week after I put the first episode on and after about 20 minutes realised I'd not actually paid any attention to it. edit: Also, I find Damian Lewis really annoying (I used the actor name as it's him not the character I dislike). He's always really breathy, and in this his accent is really off-putting.
  10. that's certainly the kotaku-eque headline you've created from the quote. Nintendo repeated several times during the announcement that they are more interested in presenting their IP to a wider audience than profiting from them in this venture, and that they would have control over the aspects of the app the customer interacts with (i.e. the game) so it doesn't particularly matter what spin DeNA is putting on it, when they "haven't talked to Ninendo about targets". Yes there's the potential for things to be fast and cheap, but if pokemon shuffle is anything to go by they won't be pestering you for money. I'd be interested to know what you'd like Nintendo to do apart from, it seems, to lock all their employees in their HQ and set it ablaze.
  11. can see how gambling can become addictive. Just played 18 online scratch cards in a row, but I'm up £10 so I don't think that's bad?

I play for a bit, but I hate being down. I'm good at cutting my losses, but I'm also good at putting $20 in, winning $20 and then pulling out my original $20 and just playing with my winnings there after. I'm not always that lucky, but onetime I turned $1 into paying for an entire trip while in Reno.

What I do is decide ahead of time how much I'm willing to "spend" for my entertainment, anything I win over and above that goes into my pocket and doesn't come back out, and I just play until the original amount is gone.

So kind of the opposite of what madbass does.

  12. Since it took them over 3 years to develop the Majora's Mask remake you'll need to hope they anticipated this problem a looong time ago.
  13. Yeah, Zelda was only ever going to be released when it was done and i certainly appreciate the level of polish that Nintendo applies to its games and i know that takes time. I guess it just feels slightly like torture to me as Zelda is really the only game I look forward to with anything approaching genuine anticipation but from what he says in the video it's like they only just started working on it seriously. Seems like they literally spend years just discussing ideas, like the idea of an open world was only recently nailed down even though they must have been working on this since 2011.
  14. 2015 release for Zelda Wii U in no longer a priority. Can't say it's surprising but can't say it's not disappointing. As long as it's not delayed until Project NX.
  15. Messed up a bit to be honest. Bought this on sale and meant to buy the trilogy but by the time I'd bought an eShop card the sale had ended. The whole thing's a bit weird anyway as Dual Destinies is the fifth game, but the forth, Apollo Justice isn't available in the eShop so even if I waited for the trilogy to go on sale again to play DD, there'd still be a gap in the story. Thinking of buying SMT IV with the money I've got now. Never played a game in that series before, and feel like I should as I hear it mentioned a lot.
  16. Several places have been getting the Majora's Mask 3DS back in stock if any of you were still after it.
  17. maybe they want the opinion of people they respect and know the tastes of/share tastes with? Some website may give a game is a 6 cos they're played out and need wowing, or you do a search and see angry people shouting into the void, but if I asked you guys what you think I know I'll get a reasoned view of its good and bad points and know I can make make a better decision because of it. Maybe they just want a conversation so they can pretend they are not alone, staring into their screen...
  18. That's how my mum did a lot of her work with primary school students. It would be harder in secondary school were teachers have more specialised knowledge to impart would a teacher have to have high level knowledge in all areas? That doesn't seem realistic. But it worked well at her level - it's much more natural way of taking on information.
  19. so anything except sport games? What would you say is your favourite game series, and favourite game from last year?
  20. Shockingly, this is not available in the EU. FDS, what sort of games do you like to play?
  21. Hope it's good news when you get it. I'm in here to hate on people that show clips/gifs/captures from films or programmes, with an "I love this show" comment but don't say what the programme is. If they love it they should make it easier for other people to watch it!
  22. I guess it really is a terrible joke then.
  23. Can someone explain this to me please? me at the bar: hey ill have two on the rocks Bartender: two what? me: thanks
  24. yes, apparently I am talking about kyogre. After pikachu and magikarp I pretty much run out of pokemon names. What's your NNID? Apparently you still need friendcodes. blimes. Anyway, if you just got an unexplained warm feeling it's because we're now friends. [internet hugs]
