  1. Homeland gets progressively more preposterous as the series goes on. I kind of wish I'd given season four a chance but I just deleted it from my DVR last week after I put the first episode on and after about 20 minutes realised I'd not actually paid any attention to it. edit: Also, I find Damian Lewis really annoying (I used the actor name as it's him not the character I dislike). He's always really breathy, and in this his accent is really off-putting.
  2. that's certainly the kotaku-eque headline you've created from the quote. Nintendo repeated several times during the announcement that they are more interested in presenting their IP to a wider audience than profiting from them in this venture, and that they would have control over the aspects of the app the customer interacts with (i.e. the game) so it doesn't particularly matter what spin DeNA is putting on it, when they "haven't talked to Ninendo about targets". Yes there's the potential for things to be fast and cheap, but if pokemon shuffle is anything to go by they won't be pestering you for money. I'd be interested to know what you'd like Nintendo to do apart from, it seems, to lock all their employees in their HQ and set it ablaze.
  3. can see how gambling can become addictive. Just played 18 online scratch cards in a row, but I'm up £10 so I don't think that's bad?

I play for a bit, but I hate being down. I'm good at cutting my losses, but I'm also good at putting $20 in, winning $20 and then pulling out my original $20 and just playing with my winnings there after. I'm not always that lucky, but onetime I turned $1 into paying for an entire trip while in Reno.

What I do is decide ahead of time how much I'm willing to "spend" for my entertainment, anything I win over and above that goes into my pocket and doesn't come back out, and I just play until the original amount is gone.

So kind of the opposite of what madbass does.

  4. Since it took them over 3 years to develop the Majora's Mask remake you'll need to hope they anticipated this problem a looong time ago.
  5. Yeah, Zelda was only ever going to be released when it was done and i certainly appreciate the level of polish that Nintendo applies to its games and i know that takes time. I guess it just feels slightly like torture to me as Zelda is really the only game I look forward to with anything approaching genuine anticipation but from what he says in the video it's like they only just started working on it seriously. Seems like they literally spend years just discussing ideas, like the idea of an open world was only recently nailed down even though they must have been working on this since 2011.
  6. 2015 release for Zelda Wii U in no longer a priority. Can't say it's surprising but can't say it's not disappointing. As long as it's not delayed until Project NX.
  7. Messed up a bit to be honest. Bought this on sale and meant to buy the trilogy but by the time I'd bought an eShop card the sale had ended. The whole thing's a bit weird anyway as Dual Destinies is the fifth game, but the forth, Apollo Justice isn't available in the eShop so even if I waited for the trilogy to go on sale again to play DD, there'd still be a gap in the story. Thinking of buying SMT IV with the money I've got now. Never played a game in that series before, and feel like I should as I hear it mentioned a lot.
  8. Several places have been getting the Majora's Mask 3DS back in stock if any of you were still after it.
  9. maybe they want the opinion of people they respect and know the tastes of/share tastes with? Some website may give a game is a 6 cos they're played out and need wowing, or you do a search and see angry people shouting into the void, but if I asked you guys what you think I know I'll get a reasoned view of its good and bad points and know I can make make a better decision because of it. Maybe they just want a conversation so they can pretend they are not alone, staring into their screen...
  10. That's how my mum did a lot of her work with primary school students. It would be harder in secondary school were teachers have more specialised knowledge to impart would a teacher have to have high level knowledge in all areas? That doesn't seem realistic. But it worked well at her level - it's much more natural way of taking on information.
  11. so anything except sport games? What would you say is your favourite game series, and favourite game from last year?
  12. Shockingly, this is not available in the EU. FDS, what sort of games do you like to play?
  13. Hope it's good news when you get it. I'm in here to hate on people that show clips/gifs/captures from films or programmes, with an "I love this show" comment but don't say what the programme is. If they love it they should make it easier for other people to watch it!
  14. I guess it really is a terrible joke then.
  15. Can someone explain this to me please? me at the bar: hey ill have two on the rocks Bartender: two what? me: thanks
  16. yes, apparently I am talking about kyogre. After pikachu and magikarp I pretty much run out of pokemon names. What's your NNID? Apparently you still need friendcodes. blimes. Anyway, if you just got an unexplained warm feeling it's because we're now friends. [internet hugs]
  17. I'm playing Pokémon shuffle at the moment and pretty annoyed I've beat the whale thing several times and even when I got the catchability from under 20 to over 80% I still didn't catch it. I'd better get it before it becomes unavailable else I'll probably stop playing.
  18. Oh, I didn't see MalH's post when I started mine. Basically what he said. @MalH: The beans aren't as dark as they look in the picture, but you're right about them being on the darker end of where most decent roasters will go but they were highly recommended as being a forgiving bean and as it seems you will know, someone new to lever machines needs a forgiving bean. Definitely struggling with consistency so far so I'd be wasting my time with a more complex bean at the moment. Hoping to get there, though I know some people just never get on with a lever machine. The porlex (hand) grinder is so I can use the aeropress when I'm away from home, and as you correctly guessed, so I don't have to meddle with the mignon (electric one) as the design's not really suitable for hopping between espresso and brew grinds. TBH, I'm not loving the mignon, but after a lot of reading up all I realised was most manufacturers have not started making concessions to the home market yet so any decent one is bloody massive and needs varying levels of modding to make them suitable for home rather than commercial use. Started reading round in circles and not getting anywhere so when I saw this as an open box bargain I jumped as it was so cheap I'll actually be able to sell it on at a profit when I can face looking into them again.
  19. The main/only place espresso machines are somewhat common is Italy. I would guess a lot of American households have filter/drip machines, but they're only the equivalent of a kettle and teabags here, i.e. just the base level of hot drink making and not really signifying you're "into" coffee. The espresso machine I bought and the grinder to its right are both similar size to kettles so don't take up too much room and the aeropress is the size of a kitchen roll tube and the hand grinder fits inside. That will sit in a cupboard out of site once I've finished playing with it. I'll mostly use that when I get a new bag of beans (to see what the flavour I'm aiming at with my espresso machine) and when I'm out of the house.
  20. Have you got any way to get 4K content on the TV, TME? From what I've read webOS is by far the best smart TV interface. I'm itching to upgrade my TV, but since there's nothing wrong with mine I'd need a seriously good offer to justify the money and I'd like the 4K specs to settle down a bit first. Anyway, the reason I'm here. The super automatic coffee machine I bought last year was nothing but hassles and disappointment. I've gone in the opposite direction now - manual lever machines have very little to go wrong except the person operating them. On the left you can also see an aeropress and hand grinder I bought. They should help me to see what I'm aiming at with my coffee, and currently missing by a mile. The good thing about this though is I know I can improve things. With the automatic, what I got was what I got.
  21. Majora's Mask is £25 on Game Collection this weekend, which is probably as cheap as you'll see it get.
  22. Isn't there a stat somewhere that gives your average trophy completion percentage. Those zero percents will really drag that number down.
