  1. My rule for sales bothering me is if I actually get around to playing it before the drop I don't mind. In theory. I don't tend to look at game prices after I've bought one though so it has to jump out at me. Big purchases though I actually scour the internet for cheaper prices after I've bought it, and I can't think what that will do other than annoy me. I am a bit better at not doing that now but it's still a problem.
  2. they did sort of say they were looking at that issue didn't they now that they try and have worldwide releases for more of their products? Guess that wouldn't happen until next gen though if at all, and then probably only on retail not eShop.
  3. That's very nice of you, Alex Heat. I wish my roommate got me wet. I'm not buying Majora's Mask until Nintendo have a special edition New 3DS I want to play it on. And that wasn't the MM one as I had plenty of opportunity to buy that monstrosity. And the ambassador edition I would easily have bought but was only the small one. Kind of wished I'd bought them both for mega profit though I don't think that would have gone down too well here, lol.
  4. what? It's not like I let on zombie Francis Drake made it off the island. Oops!
  5. I'm playing Uncharted 2. I got it at launch. I just want it done with so am playing on Very Easy and not going out of my way to look for treasures and will not be replaying it on harder levels. I think because I was frustrating myself with the first one on crushing I'm enjoying this one quite a bit more and the fighting seems more spread out so far though I'm only up to where you meet Elena.
  6. I didn't even need to press play to hear it-it's just engrained in the UK psyche waiting for any opportunity to be unleashed.
  7. "I don't accept that first point as a valid reason at all. Because the game has fewer modes of play, that makes it worth more?" That's not what I said. I said it maintains it perceived value better, and it does. NIntendo's focus on offline play, (whether single or multiplayer) means if you buy NSMB Wii U* today or when it launched you will have the same experience. If you booted up most 2/3 year old online focused games the lobby would be a ghost town That means if you buy it now most of the value left is from the single player portion of the game so a lot of the perceived value is gone. The rest of that paragraph agrees with what I say in the last paragraph - that more games should maintain their value, not just Nintendo's, so don't get me wrong I am not arguing Nintendo games are better or inherently worth more. *not saying how good that game actually is, just that it's been out longer than 3D World, so is a better comparison edit: I do think if the whole market went the same way as Nintendo's games we would actually be in a much better position, both for consumers and publishers. Fewer, better quality games that are actually worth their asking price, which you would be happy to pay as you know that price won't have halved by the time you finish the game. Of course this can never really happen now unless the recent closures/mergers become an all out crash (which may happen?) or all heads of major publishers decided a unanimous step change in how they carried out their business (which won't happen heads of companies (in any field) seem loathe to make long term decisions that are hard in the short term as it freaks shareholders out).
  8. I think that's the point? Without online you're getting the same experience when you buy a game now or in a year's time. TL,DR: Nintendo games sell at full price for a long time, other publishers would sell their games full price for a long time if they could.
  9. So you're to blame... How much of Happy Endings did you watch? Apparently most people hated it at first but warmed to it by the end of the first season. Even the critics admitted they were wrong about it and that takes some doing for a critic to admit that! I would like new girl if they'd just stop shouting. It's literally 90% of the dialogue. I actually find if quite stressful to watch because of that. Not sure which one you think is effeminate though?
  10. LOL that when you click on the link it is down for maintenance.
  11. you should copy the content of your current SD card to you PC /before/ you do a transfer, as once that is started who know where the hell your data is until the transfer is finished.
  12. Wahoo, Happy Endings is coming back this Winter! It always seems to be hanging on by a thread. It's such a funny show I don't understand what makes something successful and something else stuggle - e.g. I don't think I've met anyone that thinks 2 Broke girls is funny but it seems to keep returning regardless.
  13. have you tried turning off background data (or even data all together), bluetooth and wifi and restarting your phone, and not loading up any apps. that way you've not got unknown apps running nor high drain wireless. obviously that's not a longterm solution but it may help you discount some things or make you more confident it;s the battery.
  14. because he is hella ugly and doesn't work in French cinema.
  15. Yes, I said that it is because I am not used to it, why are you trying to have another argument? Have you not reached your quota for today.
  16. a bit of chilli adds flavour, a more chilli doesn't add more flavour, just more heat which masks other flavours. Now it may just mask the flavours because I am not inured to to, but I do not see the advantage of accustoming myself to something that is unpleasant.
  17. Was it just you and him taking or a group thing? Maybe you need to all sit down together and have an intervention. Sounds like he's suffering from depression. If you could put it in a way that you want to help him and make it as positive as possible rather than like you're all ganging up on him. Then if you follow through and try and help him out and he still doesn't respond at least you'll know you tried your best. Things like when he's by the sink start the water up and say you wash I'll dry and keep doing them and chatting to him. It will be hard for him to leave but you've got him to do it on a non complaining way.
  18. I don't mind a bit of spice but I don't see the appeal when it's just extra heat and no extra flavour especially when it's so hot it actually spoils your ability to taste the flavours that are already in the meal.
  19. regina spektor is ace. this doesnt sound like the stuff of hers i have. i guess its a new album and a new direction
  20. Hyne and Pegg were the real power couple. I miss Spaced.
  21. Chronicles is only coming to the new 3DS ( unless that video says otherwise as I've not watched it).
  22. I admit the name piqued my interest but I love the song, and they sensibly kept it short and sweet. I could totally imagine it in a Wes Anderson film, whether you think that's a good or bad thing, it's certainly a compliment from me.
  23. It doesn't necessarily have to follow the plot of the games, but there's no reason that's not possible either, you don't really need that much plot to make an enjoyable program. I would prefer it for example if they emphasised Zelda being a strong character or included her as sheik would be cool. There's actually quite a lot of scope when you think about it. I don't know if you get it in USA, but if they made it like the BBC Merlin series that would be enjoyable enough - I thought that struck a good balance between light hearted, action and drama and managed to appeal to a decent age range on different levels. I think the problem would arise if they tried to take it too seriously, which is why the comparison to game of thrones is alarming, though I'm guessing/hoping that's marketing department PR bull. Edit: having said all that, it's not something I've ever wanted to see, but Netflix has a good track record for original drama so there's no reason not to be positive either. Assuming it actually happens, it sounds very early stages/rumour.
