  1. Space-time absolutely melts my head. I always start reading an article thinking this finally make sense to me and by the end I'm more confused than when I started.
  2. what's the main plot? how long ago did you read it? I have the same issue with a travel book where the writer followed the migration of butterflies through Japan. I've been wondering about that one for over a decade and I still have a look for it every now and again. ... OMG, writing that out, I just started thinking, wait, was it butterlies or cherry blossom, because that's more famous in Japan. It was cherry blossom and I found the book. Hokkaido Highway Blues, it's called. So never give up hope!
  3. They admitted he is ill but what I read is that there may be a quiet coup with people in his government trying to take control while he is out of action. Of course with him not being seen in a month it could all just be rumours of who is trying to take control after he is dead. I guess we won't know until whoever is on power wants us to
  4. I'll listen to any arguments to buy gaming PC when we don't have a 24 page PCs for dummies thread. Or do have a 24 page consoles for dummies thread. Either is fine.
  5. I finished Link Between Worlds earlier today. I think it's one of my favourite Zelda games. I had my earphones in a lot of the time as the music was so good. All the classics and the new stuff was really good and perfect for the area it was set in. This is from a stealthy twilit section: That's from Dark Palace which was a probably my favourite dungeon. This one just fills me with joy. When the choir kicks in I can't help but smile. How does it rate in your list of Zelda games? It think it had an almost perfect mix of the old and new zelda styles. It's mademe really hope they keep on track with th new wii u game. I don't think I can take their interminable delays for that game
  6. I'm happy with a short game, and don't subscribe to the hours per pound (dollar) value model and I liked Monument Valley better than the Room, but it was kind of jarringly short. It really only felt like they'd created the introductory levels for each chapter of a decent length game and it was over just as I was starting to get in to it.
  7. I'm playing The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. I'm slightly annoyed with myself as I promised myself I'd finish A Link to the Past first but for whatever reason I can't seem to get on with that game (I seem to run out of steam when I get to the dark world). Really enjoying this new one though. I kept going past places and thinking I'll have to come back here when I have [weapon] to access that bit but my memory is miles too pants for that so I found a patch of grass by the bee dude and kept catching bees until I could buy all the weapons. I'm telling myself that's not cheating though it may make the game a bit shorter that's no bad thing in my mind. I just now got to Lorule so I guess this is the big test but I feel it will pass with flying colours.
  8. Anyone heard anything about Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines on vita? It looks interesting but can't get on my computer to find more details at the moment. I think the original was import only on PS one. Here's a Japanese trailer, can't find English one atm
  9. Vecha, can you let us (me) know what Lego city undercover is like when you give it a go. I've been interested in it but it's still £40 and I'm struggling to justify that sort of money on it.
  10. Your post says 64 bit, FDS. Your reply to me makes more sense though.
  11. Would it cause problems for computers with small amounts of memory to have a 64 bit OS? If not it would be good if they could just say if you need 32 bit don't upgrade. Everyone else, welcome to the 21st century.
  12. Beethoven:ARE YOU READY TO HEAR SOME SYMPHONIES?! Audience:*cheers* Beethoven:I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!
  13. i Am not Feeling that Pressure, No.
  14. I bought some House of Marley earphones. They were cheap and half price too. They're supposed to be just above average sounding, good for the price and the fabric cable is hopefully durable and less likely to tangle. My last two pairs were fairly expensive but also fairly uncomfortable so I didn't want to spend too much again. I don't think I've ever had a pair of comfortable earphones before, but I just don't want to deal with the amount of space a pair of headphones takes up.
  15. How've I never seen this before?
  16. It seems weird to me that you can think rationally enough to decide what to hit but not to not hit. Mind you I have a really unhealthy coping mechanism for my own aggression, so I have no room to comment. I'm just too much of a skinflint to risk needing to spend money. I guess there's nothing wrong with wanting to punch someone as long as you don't act on it? I'm guessing it would be someone close to you too which wouldn't be very nice to deal with afterwards.
  17. Don't you just get more annoyed if you punch something because you haven't solved the original problem but now you're in pain and have a broken wall or other thing that you need to spend time and money fixing. Mind you I'm sure you don't need me telling you it's an unhealthy way to deal with anger.
  18. Animal Crossing New Leaf, definitely. I can understand that you may not like it, but if you do I can't imagine a game that is more relaxing - you can do what you want, you can't fail, there's no time limit, no one is attacking you. You can look away from the screen for as long as you want, for a conversation, an interesting bit in a show etc. and it will be exactly the same when you look back down. When a villager sees me and hurries over to say they like me so much they want to give me the grand piano they had in their pocket, I can't help but smile.
  19. In the last two days on Facebook I've seen a mum post a bunch of photos of her daughter with the title "my sexy daughter" and another mum posting a photo of her daughter in her "sexy new glasses". Both the daughters are around 5-7 years old. I'm sure they don't mean it in the way it sounds, but it is really jarring to see it with the photos
  20. So, my question for Brits is did you start gaming on consoles or, as is more the stereotype, on computers such as spectrum, amstrad and commodore? I guess it depends how old you are but when I was young I didn't know anyone with a console, we went from previously mentioned computers (though I had an Acorn Electron) and on to Amigas and atari (the ST, i think, but definitely a computer not a console).
  21. Finally finished Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. I can't even remember when I started it. I enjoy the Layton games but I just get burned out on the puzzles sometimes. Plot was OK, not quite as stupid as some of the others but there is always the problem with mystery plots when something is obvious but you still have to play along with the characters not knowing and the opposite when you know a character knows stuff but deliberately doesn't tell so they can stretch the plot out. It was good to get a decent bit of backstory on layton including that he had a perm, which tickled me. Also the bit after the credits was a bit bonkers so I will look forward to seeing how that pans out and finding out what's up with Descole.
  22. I don't know how new this is but it is pretty cool. Ordinance Survey has made a complete map of Britain in Minecraft that you can download. London: Snowdon: I'm always intrigued by Minecraft but something is stopping me from jumping in - I think it's just too daunting at this point and I know all the cool things I've seen it would be so disappointing knowing the simplistic stuff I'd manage to come up with.
  23. why the heck is everyone photo of an animate object now called a selfie?! I think the worst example recently was watching a live programme about dog behaviour and it had a section throughout of viewers' "dog selfies". It's a freaking photo the owner took of the dog, the dog did not take it itself. To my mind if it doesn't have an arm stretched out of frame it is not a selfie.
  24. I'm in one of those moods where I can only listen to about ten seconds of a song before I skip it, even ones I particularly like. It's driving me mad.
