  1. Does that mean you have one of the phones yourself? What's it like? (I'm not asking for a code, btw. Just curious)
  2. Started Hyrule Warriors today and played the first few levels in the main story mode and the retro adventure mode. I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game before, but it's pretty much what I was expecting, i.e. button mashing my way through hordes of enemies which is what I wanted and I enjoyed it. My only complaints so far are that the graphics are pretty embarrassing. I know there are a lot of enemies on screen but still, it looks like a 15 year old PC game. The other thing is it's not very clear what you're meant to be doing sometimes - you just wander around aimlessly waiting for someone to call for help and then try to work out which of the half a dozen flashing things on the map is your destination. Speaking of the map even if you know where you're going it's quite difficult to work out the way. There is no route marking so you're constantly looking at the mini-map and heading back on yourself.
  3. Dive. Something gross is going on your head either way. It's easier to wash off the pee afterwards. You could just stand under the shower until you're rinsed then soap up. Imagine having to pick the shit out of your hair before started getting clean Would you rather always have to lie or always tell the truth?
  4. they've had 300 years to think about it: that should be enough for anybody.
  5. I liked the flag with black ground and yellow behind the + cross. Didn't want you getting your hands on our dragon. Independence always comes across as more popular than it is because it's that group that's banging on about it there was no need for unionists to be making a noise before now. I think there were major flaws in the yes campaign which salmond childishly refused to acknowledge. issues like banks having to be based where the majority of their customers are (ie England) having to take the euro to join the EU etc. and I'm not saying they couldn't have been worked through but the way he reacted i think did a lot of damage e.g. saying Westminster would defo give them the pound even though they may not have been allowed it and then just saying they'll use it anyway even if we didn't want them to we can't stop them. It's just much more a romantic than practical notion. As for more devolved powers for the regions, I am dead against it for the simple reason that it is just more bureaucracy to pay for and more scumbag MPs screwing us over for their own benefit. Having said that I would like Westminster to try and spread the wealth out around the country e.g. by giving tax breaks for companies setting significant parts of their business in the north.
  6. so you're saying my ganon/link auto-erotic asphyxiation slash fic is finally going to become cannon? I now literally cannot wait.
  7. Is there a reason he has the scarf? I've never seen it in a Zelda game.
  8. pre-ordered this to get the skyward sword costume bonus (which was the one I wanted, unlike most people it seems) I liked the look of the twilight princess one too but wouldn't get it from GAME if they were giving it away for free. Probably will regret my decision as I'm guessing the price will drop like a stone but the reviews seem OK and I've never tried a Dynasty Warriors game. Do have another Amazon moan though! It releases tomorrow and I ordered it this morning, any other prime item I've ordered would have dispatched same day to arrive tomorrow. but my best prime delivery option was not next day but expedited. Thing is they've done chuff all with it today and aren't dispatching until tomorrow for hopeful delivery by 9pm Saturday. Not exactly my definition of expedited.
  9. I just finished Ni No Kuni recently (and really loved it) BUT when you kill the final boss and it asks you if you want to do a complete game save it tells you it will save it just before the final battle. ARGH. That means when I want to be relaxing and enjoying the new tasks that have unlocked all the NPCs are in a state of high anxiety, when ideally I would want them all telling me how awesome I am or at least not telling me we've got to prepare for the epic battle I just completed. I remember Twilight Princess doing it as well. The thing is, most characters already have a set of generic phrases that could be defaulted to if they didn't want to write new post game ones so I don't understand why so many games do it - it makes the post game stuff much less enjoyable with the threat looming over your head.
  10. I only played the demo of the first one so will definitely play that before the second one. The decision I'm working on is whether to play them back to back or have a different game in inbetween to give myself a break. Guess that depends how much i enjoy the first one and how long they take.
  11. TCP days he still has welcome park on his vita. I can't see it on mine so thought they'd done an update to remove it finally. Kind of scared to have a better look as I can still just about convince myself it's not there at the moment.
  12. It's definitely good news for us. You're lucky you missed the drama there was a lot of confusion and anger and you missed the temptation to move your pre-order. You can pre-order the special edition elsewhere for £40 rather than the £47 Amazon want which is still good value considering you get a whole new game and revamped old one but it's still nice when things turn or in your favour.
  13. Wahoo! Not sure if you all know about the hubbub surrounding this on Amazon? They only had one SKU up for ages that they priced at £31.85 (near the cheapest available anywhere) and the description said included bayonetta 1. A lot of people pre-ordered it. A few days after the Nintendo Direct they removed the Bayonetta 1 reference and caused a lot of worry. Then they changed the previous solitary SKU to the standard edition and added a Special Edition one for £47. This causes even more worry and emails and calls to customer services who told people to cancel their pre-orders. The ones who ordered before they removed the Bayonetta 1 reference and hung in there (me!) now have confirmation we've been upgraded to the special edition (that includes Bayonetta 1) at no additional cost but the people who were told to cancel and re-pre-order the £47 version or pre-order elsewhere are SOL. So there are a lot of relieved and a lot of angry Amazon customers out there right now. Luckily I'm one of the happy ones! Also, a weird thing about amazon pre-orders is they say they don't charge you until dispatch, but they took my entire gift card balance (£28-ish) straight away with only the £3 balance to pay by card on dispatch. Not exactly happy about that, but I definitely have no intention of meddling with the order payment in case I accidentally cancel it!
  14. that would require effort. I'm not about that.
  15. The demo codes come directly from Nintendo for having a decent amount of activity on your account (i.e. you buy stuff on it) not from pre-ordering (I have no intention of buying the game). But either way, let me know, though it doesn't look like anyone else is clamouring for them. Should have put them on eBay!
  16. I've got two codes for the smash Bros. 3DS demo. It's the special one that doesn't have a play limit. I'm in the uk and I'd guess they're region locked but if you know otherwise you're welcome to try.
  17. I assumed the 'this' you did to your phone was touch it with those nails and that's why you needed a new one.
  18. I always many to watch dexter but as the number of series started to mount up the prospect became increasingly daunting. So... Is the whole thing worth watching. Could you just watch the first series and be satisfied or is there a massive cliff hanger. I don't want to start something that will drag on past its welcome.
  19. I know technically they're android devices, but without access to the play store it's hard to call them that. I guess while they were trying to push their hardware it made sense to keep their services off play store, but now they're pushing their services, particularly Instant Video it makes sense to make it available to as many people as possible. They'll want the big subscriber numbers to entice show exclusivity deals and justify cost of developing their own shows.
  20. Annihilation, the first book in that series is free on kindle at the moment for anyone whose interest is piqued.
  21. I've never seen this before. Does it only work for two digit numbers, and does it work for all of them? If it does it's amazingly cool.
  22. If you go on tumblr and search for commissions you will see a lot of posts by artists with price lists for projects with various levels of detail (e.g bust or full body, with/without shadow, anything background etc.). They're usually just for the digital file - if you were printing it out for them you would obviously charge for that too (at more than just the materials cost as it involves extra work too).If you find some with similar levels of detail to your work you can get an idea what you should charge. Don't think, "it's for friends so I won't charge too much" because when they tell other people they'll expect the same price and you'll end up resenting doing it for a small amount of money more than if you were doing it for free as you'll have the pressure of supplying a "professional" service and product, without the commensurate rewards. Another way is to think how long it takes you to complete a piece including thinking time and divide it by your price and see how awful that looks - it will almost certainly be below minimum wage so you should certainly not feel bad for what little you would charge.
  23. There is not much subtlety in Doctor Who. Him literally asking every man and his dog "am I a good person?" is not exactly the nuanced exploration of his inner turmoil we were promised.
  24. Since I've been banging on about it so much I though you'd all be overjoyed to know I've finally got a clean 8.1 install! Wahoo!
