  1. I'm not really sure what to make of this demo. The combat appears to have completely changed and I'm not sure it's for the better. The D-pad is for weapon and item slots now, so does that mean no more traditional menu commands a la Kingdom Hearts? That seems like it would severely limit your options unless I'm missing something. The dodge roll is appreciated and the lock-on is better, but I was left with mixed feelings whereas with the last demo I was totally on board.
  2. TFW no spring sale and no April Fools' event either..

  3. I restarted again, so I'm on my fourth playthrough now. I couldn't get past the alien base with the resources I had. I was doing okay until the God damn chryssalids showed up.
  4. Last playthrough I couldn't keep any of them below 3 bars. Panic just rises faster than I can keep up with it.
  5. Yes, I'm on normal. The actual fights weren't too hard at first but it's the base building and panic that keeps fucking me over.
  6. Are youtube links not working for anyone else?

      Working for me.

  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG8gaQm8LJc How do I say this? It's a bit crude, but...I got a BONER.
  8. Ugh, I'm trying to finally get through XCOM: Enemy Within so I can move on to XCOM 2, but I'm getting my ass kicked so hard that it's just getting stressful and frustrating. I forgot how damn difficult this game was, and I'm beginning to wonder if I really want to keep subjecting myself to this.

  10. Beat Witcher 2! I really really want to dive into Witcher 3, but I don't own that one yet. I don't know if I can hold out until the next steam sale, though...
  11. You know you wrote a disjointed mess when you have to start posting deleted scenes just to make sense of the plot.
  12. The obvious answer is that they'll sell bundles of special types of pokeballs in their little cash shop.
  13. Finally got Deadpool out of my backlog. Gameplay was just passable, really, but the writing was entertaining enough to make up for it. This is bearing in mind, of course, that I bought it on sale a long time ago for less than 20 dollars. That last level was also a real son of a bitch. It was hard to the point of being tedious and frustrating.
  14. I sorta get where Daniel is coming from. Even if you don't HAVE to do everything in these big open-world RPGs, sometimes it just feels so daunting when you're faced with everything that's laid out in front of you. I remember when I was playing Dragon Age: Inquisition I was stuck in the Hinterlands for days on end and there came a point when I started thinking "Fuck, I'm never going to finish this." I could have just skipped the sidequests, but what if one of them gave me something important or useful!? I can't take that chance!
  15. I'm sure you will be able to find one. I mean, it's a Sony accessory. This stuff doesn't exactly fly off the shelves, and this is coming from a guy with a move AND the PS Camera.
  16. Great, my car broke down. My guy can't even look at it until Tuesday. I have a backup car, but the stickers expired. I get a ride to the DMV to try to renew them and they tell me I have to have a safety certificate, which I can only get from a garage inspection. Fine, I ask them if I can have a temporary sticker to cover me while I get the inspection done, but they say no because it had a temporary sticker once before in the past. So now I have to get an inspection done with fucking expired stickers and hope like hell that I don't run into any fucking cops. This is the fourth fucking time I've tried to get this car's god damn papers up to date and something has always, ALWAYS come up to complicate things. FUCK MY LIFE.
  17. PC version. I've been following this one for a while and I'm looking forward to playing it.
  18. Guess that means Sony wins the VR competition. Didn't expect them to outdo Oculus.

  20. Well, having played this game for 15 levels by now (I believe the current cap is 30), I think I've experienced enough of the game to form an educated opinion on it, and I must say that I really misjudged it. I, like a lot of people, scoffed at this game all the way up to release because Ubisoft was practically promising the moon with The Division and it seemed like couldn't possibly live up to the hype. Whether or not they delivered will depend on who you ask, but either way I think they've put out a really solid game here. I was expecting to be burned again like I was with Destiny, but The Division feels more like it's living up to Destiny's potential. The world is huge and full of stuff to do and discover, which is all the more impressive when you consider that there's no loading most of the time, even when switching from PVE to PVP. It also looks very nice, even after the downgrade (though misrepresenting the graphics was still a shitty thing for Ubi to do). The most common complaints I hear against this game are that it's grindy and that enemies are bullet sponges, and to that I have to say that both of these points seem overblown, especially when compared to Destiny. Maybe when I hit the max level it will start to feel grindy, but so far I haven't been forced to do a bunch of repetitive tasks over and over, and the bosses aren't even close to being as spongy as Destiny's bosses. I suppose some of these people who don't like Division also dislike Destiny for the same reasons, in which case I guess these kinds of games just aren't ever going to be their cup of tea. The third complaint I hear is that the guns don't feel as good, which...yeah, okay, that's a fair point. Firing the guns in Division doesn't give you the same satisfaction that Destiny's guns do. However, I think the team-based gameplay makes up for it. Make no mistake, if you try to play this as a single player game you will probably get bored and frustrated. However, if you team up with a group, you'll end up working together and coordinating tactics when you take on some of the tougher engagements. You actually have to take each person's abilities and positioning in mind, and it's really satisfying when everyone is working together like a well-oiled machine. Some of the earlier missions, like the ones in the beta, are easy enough that you can just get by with hiding behind a cover point and waiting for the enemies to come to you, but that won't fly later on. You'll eventually reach a point where you have to start thinking strategically if you want to survive. It's also nice that you can switch abilities at any time, thus letting you try a bunch of different builds without starting whole new characters. I haven't done a whole lot of the Dark Zone yet, but what I have played of it so far was very tense and exciting. I'll dive into it some more after I get a few more levels under my belt.
  21. They should have just said from the beginning that you get to play as Daft Punk.
