Well it's a procedurally generated game for one thing, so no there are not 18,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets to explore. The actual number of totally unique planets that are distinguishable from all the others is going to be considerably lower. Secondly, this game doesn't really seem to be about much more than "go out and look at planets." That's fine as a novelty, but even Microsoft doesn't try to sell Minecraft for 60 dollars. I also think Firewatch is overpriced too.

As far as the Republicans are concerned, I know they're still bitter over the Benghazi/emails affairs. Clinton may or may not have fucked up there depending on who you ask, so I can understand to some degree where they are coming from, but...come on, you're really going to use that as an excuse to go running into the arms of Donald Trump? Guys, I know it's been hard for you since you lost Ronald Reagan and you haven't had any respectable candidates in years, but that's no reason to throw away your self-respect. You're (slightly) better than that.

This is a game that should be able to run on a potato, though, so unless you just plain don't own a PC I don't see the need to wait for a port. That said, I wouldn't count a port out just yet if this game takes off and becomes a runaway hit, which seems likely at the moment. Sony has been pretty good about keeping their eye on hot new indie releases and I wouldn't be surprised if they start courting the developer.

Welp, now people are complaining that Netflix cast a white actor to play Iron Fist instead of an asian-american actor. People have already pointed out that 1) the character of Daniel Rand is already white in the comic and 2) casting an asian as a martial arts superhero would be MORE offensive, but that has done nothing to make this controversy go away. I want off of this ride. I've had enough.

I'm finally playing The Witcher. As in the first one. As some of you may or may not remember, I have tried to play this game in the past and couldn't. Despite my last PC being more than powerful enough to run a game that old, for SOME reason it was the one program to always give me blue screens. Neither I nor the devs could ever figure out why that kept happening. I never played Witcher 2 or 3 because I just can't bring myself to play games in a series out of order unless the entries are totally unrelated to each other i.e. Final Fantasy. At any rate, I installed the game on my new PC and now I can FINALLY play it without any problems. I normally don't do this, but I'm playing it on easy mode because I'm practically sick of the game at this point and I just want to get through the story so I can move on to Witcher 2 and 3, which I hear are vastly superior.

Steam sent me a 75% off coupon out of the blue so I got this for 5 bucks. It's the first time I've ever actually bothered to use one of those coupons. Usually they pass them out for total crap.

It works for some programs, like the little ones that don't make registry keys, but for big programs like steam games, not so much.

After rewatching Who Framed Roger Rabbit for the umpteenth time recently I thought to myself "you know, I've never read the actual book it's based on." I had some amazon kindle credit just for downloading the app so I used it to buy Who Censored Roger Rabbit and just finished it. It's a far cry from the movie that it inspired, what with the word balloons and doppels, but I still just enjoy the whole humans and toons living side by side thing. Kinda makes me wish we could have another movie about it, but that doesn't seem likely to happen anymore in the age of CG.
