There's a lot of method acting annoying a lot of people to varying degrees, and you often hear about this sort of stuff from directors too (Hitchcock and Kubrick?). To me it seems very selfish from an actor and from a director, if they can't get a good performance out of their actors without abusing them they're not good enough at their job. I don't think filmed entertainment is important enough for the 'end justifying the means' platitude which to be honest I'm not a fan of anyway. here's the link the quote's from it's a list of different actors getting into role, not just about Leto. That's just dumb. Even if it wasn't completely obnoxious, does Joker really seem like the type of person who sends condoms and anal beads to people? It just shows a total lack of understanding of the character and makes me even more skeptical of Leto in the role.

Did anyone play the PC version of Rise of the Tomb Raider and find themselves having trouble getting it to launch? The game itself works fine whenever I can actually get it going, but it only seems to want to actually start maybe one out of every twenty times. So annoying.

Since I started FFVII to see if I would want to take the plunge on FFIX's PC port, I figured I might as well finish FFVII. The port is a mess, but I installed some mods to improve the experience. First, I installed a mod to alter the controls so they'd match the original Playstation controls minus the O and X buttons being swapped. Then, I installed another pack with a number of improvements. Firstly, it puts in a new script for the localisation, which was sorely needed if you ask me. The original translation left me scratching my head because I just couldn't understand the game's story, plus it was just full of mistranslations (Safer Sephiroth, anyone?). It also upped the framerate on the battles to 60fps, which has the added side effect of making the standard attack animations play out faster. Some of the menus were resized and repositioned too. A subtle improvement, but appreciated. Finally, the goofy looking field models of the original game were touched up to better match the battle models, meaning that Cloud goes from this to this

Next to Jojo, I think My Hero Academia is my favorite anime right now. Having read the manga, I can say that so far the anime seems to be putting extra little artistic touches on the show to give it an extra injection of personality, which definitely works in its favor in my opinion. Uraraka has only had a few lines so far but her voice melts my heart. I'm still waitin' impatiently to see my personal favorite show up, though.

Well I gave that Powerpuff Girls reboot a chance and it's fucking awful. It's like pure cancer in animated form. The art is shit, the voice acting is shit, and the writers are actually using memes from ten years ago as jokes. There are lolcats and rage faces in this thing, and god I wish I was making that up. I wouldn't be surprised if Craig McCracken kills himself just so he can roll over in his grave.

And beat the second one now. Time to move on to Rise of the Tomb Raider, I think.

So my laptop runs like a dream when I have it plugged into the AC adapter, but when it's on the battery the sound is choppy and videos play at a choppy framerate. Anyone with a laptop know what that's about and how to fix it?

Since I've been going through my backlog lately to kill time until the next steam sale happens, I went ahead and got through AVGN Adventures. I was perfectly capable of running it on my old PC too, of course, but I just never got around to it. Figured since I bought it, I might as well play it. Also, the second one just came out and it looked fun so I wanted to get that, but not before beating the original.

Can anyone confirm that the DS4 works with the PC version of FFIX? I am having an unbelievably hard time getting it to work right with FFVII and I'm not about to buy another port that fucks up something as simple as the controls.

I finally, FINALLY beat XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within. It only took me five tries spread out over several years. Also, the ending cutscene kept crashing on me and for a bit there I thought I wasn't going to be able to get the achievement for beating it. Not funny, Firaxis. Fortunately, verifying the files solved that problem. The ending sucked, by the way. After all that trouble I expect to see people throwing parades in my honor, or at least for someone to tell me I did a good job defending the entire human race. Nope, nothing.

God, Joker and Deadshot look worse every time I see them. After Jesse Eisenberg turned out to be exactly as bad as everyone knew he would be, I have no hope whatsoever that these actors will surprise us like Heath Ledger did.

I think I'm finally getting the hang of XCOM. For starters, I decided to prioritize satellites and satellite uplinks over absolutely everything else. Excluding a few suits of armor, a MEC trooper, and a med pack, I didn't buy ANYTHING else except for things I would need in order to get more satellites. I also skipped over laser weapons entirely because they just get replaced by plasma anyway. Perhaps most importantly, I am procrastinating the hell out of the main story missions. I haven't even done the alien base yet and I don't intend to until I've got the best weapons and equipment I can possibly have without advancing the story. I lost the UK in the process but fuck 'em. I feel like I might actually beat the game this time unless it throws a really nasty curveball at me in the later acts.

Why are there so many people on the internet who don't know the difference between predecessor and successor? It triggers my inner grammar nazi.

I'm trying to use Nvidia's game sharing feature that is apparently a thing now, but when I open GeForce experience there is no share button in the corner, only the shadowplay button. I'm positive that I'm using the newest version of GeForce too, so I don't understand why I can't use the feature. Anyone else using an Nvidia card who can confirm whether the button says share or shadowplay? Edit: Well I got it working except that the feature isn't supported on any of the games I'd want to share so it kinda defeats the whole point.

Is there such a thing as a program that will trick a game with local only co-op into thinking that an online friend is actually on the same machine with you? I have indie games that I would love to play with friends but local play simply isn't an option for us and so few of these games have online play. I know that such a thing exists for emulators legitimately purchased retro consoles, so you'd think it would be possible for some of these less demanding PC games too.

Damn, Boku no Hero Academia premiered too? I totally overlooked it with all of the Jojo hype. And apparently One Punch Man got several new special episodes on top of that? How did I not hear about any of this?!

Well that would explain it, but it can sure be confusing to put out two demos with completely different styles of gameplay.
