I finally got around to finishing Jessica Jones. Boy was this one a different flavor from all the other Marvel shows. I wouldn't say it's better than Daredevil like I've heard others claiming, but it's still pretty good. The villain was truly vile and I was invested in seeing him go down, and most of the other characters were pretty enjoyable. Except for Robyn. Fuck that girl. If I have one main complaint, it's that sometimes it felt like the story dragged on just because of really stupid decisions that the "good guys" were making, thus giving advantages to the villain that they really should have known better than to give him. I'd still give it, I dunno, a solid B+.

My list of reasons to own a vita is getting smaller and smaller. I'm pretty much down to Persona 4 Golden at this point.

I didn't really "get" this song the first time I listened to it, but as time goes on I find it keeps getting stuck in my head. It's got that sort of weird, trance-like quality to it.

Pretty much a total fanservice game, but I've been binging on the manga recently and I'm all the way up to Steel Ball Run, which basically means I've read about 25 years' worth of chapters at this point and I've got Jojo on the brain.

I just got back from a 70mm Roadshow showing of The Hateful Eight that I went to see with my friend. I don't know which version the rest of you guys were watching, but this one was three hours long. The movie itself was pretty enthralling, but I also have to mention that the mere experience of going to see it in the theater was strangely fun for me. I had to drive about an hour to go to the really nice theater that was showing it, but when I went inside they were actually passing out playbills for people seeing the film. There were no bullshit ads or previews before the movie began. There was a brief orchestral overture that played while people were coming in to find their seats, but after that the movie started straight away without so much as a PSA about turning off your cell phone. Halfway through the film there was an actual intermission, and thank god there was because I definitely needed a bathroom break by then. It also gave me a chance to talk with my friend for a bit about what we thought of the movie so far, at least until the music started back up and we had to find our seats again. I know it's all very simple, minor details that I'm describing here that don't sound like much on paper, but it all came together to make a unique experience for me that I thought was worth the drive.

I like that Kylo Ren theory. It would explain a lot.
