There's no such thing as a machine that will change your race, though. You can take hormones or get reassignment surgery if you're transgender, but no amount of wishful thinking will ever, EVER change your roots or where you came from, and it seems rather condescending to me for someone to act like they identify with a culture they are not really part of. I know Ethan wants to move away from the Dolezal example but it's the most prolific one right now so I'm afraid I have to use it again. Being a so-called "transracial" means denying your own parents. Any parents of any race can have a child of either gender, but two white parents will never, ever have a black child. You can't "identify" as black and reconcile yourself with that undeniable fact at the same time, which is why this woman faked having a black family. I'm sorry but that's just not mentally healthy. Nobody takes all these nerdy white kids seriously when they say that they're really japanese, so I don't know why it's even a discussion when it's a white woman who wishes she was black. Plus she's LITERALLY WEARING BLACKFACE. Why are people suddenly okay with that? If she had even a drop of black ancestry in her bloodline then I might be able to accept all this. If she was even 1/32nd black and she chose to identify with that heritage more than the 99% of her that's white then fine, whatever. But she isn't. She can have as many black friends as she wants, but she is not black, not even a little bit. To claim otherwise is...oh, what did they call it again...Oh yeah, "cultural appropriation." I thought that was supposed to be a bad thing.

Alright, so it's officially over. What is everyone's E3 report card?

I will admit that I didn't know this show was sponsored by AMD until after it already started, but I still think it could have been better than this. Gaben showing up was a long shot, and I sure as hell didn't expect Half-Life 3, but it would have been nice if he showed up to talk about SOMETHING. Source 2, a live demo of the steam controller, freaking anything. Oh, and no Firaxis appearance whatsoever. God damn it.

Okay, Enter the Gungeon isn't really a surprise but I am interested in that game so it's something. I also revised my standards so I no longer need an exclusive, just a surprise of some kind. I'm sure you were already writing your post when I made that edit so I won't hold it against you. edit: Okay, so a new Starcraft episode. I don't really like Starcraft so it means little to me but I know how popular Starcraft is so I guess this is gonna be what most people take away from this conference.

I was hoping for a new reveal that wasn't an RTS, a MOBA, or a strategy/sim game. I am fully aware that this is pretty unlikely in this day and age but an FFVII remake was pretty unlikely too. Also, even if I did care about Killing Floor, Killing Floor 2 isn't anything new. People have known about that game for ages. The Total War reveal was new, so I guess that's nice for people who are into that series, but I am not one of them. They went to the trouble to put together a PC show for E3 for the first time so I thought that maybe they had a big surprise in store but so far it's not looking like that's going to happen. edit: You know what, I'll lower my standards. It doesn't have to be PC exclusive. Just show something that I haven't seen besides indie crap and early access. I don't care if it's multiplatform.

I was expecting very little, but giving them enough benefit of the doubt to think that maybe we'll see a new and interesting PC exclusive of some kind. And maybe some XCOM 2 gameplay. There's still time for the latter, so if that happens then it will salvage the PC conference for me at least a little, but the announcement of ports for nearly 10 year old games does not excite me. I'm a multi-platform gamer. I've already played those games to death. I really have no idea how popular the Total War series really is, so I couldn't tell you how big of an announcement it really is. I am aware that it has a devoted fanbase, but it always seemed like a niche community to me.

EVERYTHING has been boring to me so far. The Gears trilogy means nothing to me anymore, we've already seen Deus Ex, I don't give a shit about Total War or Killing Floor, and we've heard about DX12 a million times already. The only announcement that kind of interests me so far is Killer Instinct and even that wasn't something I was really dying to play.

This PC show is boring as hell so far. American Truck Simulator? Pathetic.

I can think of a few reasons.

Okay I'm sure at least some of you have heard about this Rachel Dolezal thing, right? You guys have any thoughts? I'm a pretty open minded guy but I'm sorry, this "transracial" shit is where I draw the fucking line.

I don't expect much from the PC show. Maybe some hardware, VR, steam box, things like that. They might show XCOM gameplay, which would be nice, but let's be realistic here, all the really big games have already been announced. The only PC exclusives I expect to see are RTS, strategy, or MOBA games and I really don't care about any of those genres outside of Civilization.

Well Square had a bunch of duds in their conference but Just Cause, Kingdom Hearts, and Deus Ex still made their showing better than EA's.

Okay I've never really been into Just Cause that much but I gotta admit that Just Cause 3 looks pretty fucking rad.

Nintendo didn't really have any major surprises but Star Fox looks cool at least.

Earthbound Zero/Mother isn't really as good as most people probably think it is, but it's nice that it's officially available now, I suppose.

Well Ubisoft had a few duds but it was still infinitely better than that snoozefest that was the EA conference.

And once again Ubisoft falls into the "canned multiplayer dialogue during a trailer that nobody ever actually says" cliche.

Wow, Ubisoft is actually off to a pretty good start. I did not see that coming.

Even Mirror's Edge is making me go "eh, whatever." I'm sure it'll be alright but it's nothing I wasn't expecting when they announced it.
